Rebirth: Blades Of Exile

Chapter 15 - A drop of water.

Some say dragons are born not made.

those without talent can never catch up to the prodigies out there.

Link did experience how hard it was to try and stand on the same league as such people but at the end of the day, he reached his end before he became equal.

rather, he would probably have never been an equal even if he survived, the difference between them has grown so large there was literally no hope of catching up, he had already lost the race once.

"Thank you, Nada"

It was nothing but fortune, that he made Nada's acquaintance she gave him a chance, no it was more than a chance.

she had given him the opportunity to break such a statement, 'she had made him a dragon'

Her kindness, he would never forget, he swore that he would show those who looked down on her, just how strong her prowess that became a part of him is.

They were going to regret their choices.

Link stood up from his seated position, he was happy to discover that after his racial transformation, his lost leg had regenerated.

taking in to note, he also seemed to be taller, his muscles more defined and flexible.

"I see that you have finally woke up"

at first, Link was surprised at the sudden voice, but after taking in his surroundings he realized that he was in the large hall he had first come to when he walked into the dungeon.

"Rashmar, how much time had passed since I joined the trial?"

he questioned, guessing the identity of earlier voice.

" It's been 5 Months"

"5 months in earthen or realmic?"

"In earthen"

link let out a sigh of relief, he had heard of people that went through racial evolutions, some took a few months to fully evolve and some others took up to years.

he was fortunate enough to belong to the former.

still, he had to make some slight changes to his plan, since he spent 2 months more than he had planned to in this place.

Tsk

still, he couldn't help but click his tongue.

'Blood is thicker than water?, I call bullshit'

he felt bitter at what happened to Nada, he didn't know, should he be happy or sad? he had benefited from her death, in exchange, he promised himself he'd hunt down those that caused her desperation, but was that really enough?

"Don't overthink it, young man, some people are just fated to perish before they could reach their pinnacle"

Rashmar's words were like an alarm going off in his head.

'Fated huh'

it sounded like a shitty joke to link, there was no such thing as fate, it was but the strong deciding the life of the weaker.

claiming life at their whim, what fate took part in that, at the end of the day, you were dead if someone stronger wanted you dead.

your strength decided your fate.

Rashmar, with his corporeal body, could feel a suffocating rage build-up near him.

even he felt threatened for a moment.

so he decided to change the subject.

"It's time for me to hand over your rewards"

Link who had already steeled himself raised his head upwards, when he first entered this place, he could not locate Rashmar, but now with draconic senses, he could vaguely tell the guy's location.

from above, slowly two worn-out looking blades descended, patterns of unrecognizable magic were engraved in both blades and chains were attached to the hilts ends.

(Here is how I imagined the blades to be, pinterest.com/pin/742882901010162209/)

suddenly the chains attached to the blades flung themselves towards Link's arms.

link couldn't even resist them, they crept on his arms slowly, coiling around it.

TCCHHH

" AGHHHH"

Suddenly they started burning themselves to his arms.

You have to note that with Link's stats, physique and affinities, fire was the least of his worries.

but here was a fire that could burn him and cause him unbearable pain.

after 30 minutes of agonizing pain, loud huff's could be heard in the huge hall.

they were Link's of course, the burning had stopped, and so did the foreign memories he saw.

They were the memories of a man using the two blades to bring destruction to a world he didn't recognize.

He felt the man's pain, sadness, and furry, it was truly agonizing but thanks to it, he had learned a fraction of the man's skills in using the blades.

quickly, link cast several primary heals on himself, primary heal was the most basic heal skill, but thanks to his Affinity with light and the skill level itself, it brought about an amazing effect.

soon enough his burns healed, but the chains would not budge at all, they had attached themselves firmly to his arm.

"Rashmar what is the meaning of this "

Link's voice was brimming with rage, essentially he was now restricted to these worn-out blades, sure they were all-powerful in the other man's hands, but what about now?

they might already be nothing but scarp.

Rashmar's voice sounded out in reply, one last time.

"Your 2nd reward is the skill Temporal Shadowity, you have 2 weeks before you'll be kicked out"

and that was the last link heard of Rashmar.

Link knew that no matter how much he yells at the guy, he would not respond, Rashmar had already made his position clear.

Calming himself down, Link started observing the possibly crippling blades.

Blades Of Exile (Bound)

Godly artifact

Weapon level 1

???

???

???

???

???

-Absorbs stamina from enemies on contact.

-God of war's domain: Aware of any movement in the surroundings of the user.

-No Limit

Durability: Infinite.

a weapon once used by a god of war, on his journey for revenge, forgiveness, and redemption...

(Growth Item)

Links eyes opened wide, a growth item with no limit, his hands grew sweaty, not even mentioning the unlocked abilities, this item was truly worth being a Godly artifact, it could grow infinitely, and the stamina skill, It absorbed stamina on CONTACT, not even injury, now even blocking his attacks would be dangerous.

Link then moved on to the skill he had gained.

Temporal Shadowity: User enters a mind space where time flow is 5 times slower, Shadow enemies on an equal level are available for the user to train with.

No cost.

hell, Link had finally lost it with joy, he instantly activated the skill and instantly entered a meditative state.

the space was basically a white room, where a shadow figure of himself stood in front of him.

Link felt like he could summon as many Shadow figures to this space as he wanted, but he stuck to only one for now.

Rashmar had told him that he had 2 weeks before he sent him back, he was planning to use the free time he had to the fullest.

he started attacking using the blades, the same way the man that he saw did.

controlling the chains, to use the blades more efficiently.

but, of course, he failed, he had put too much strength into the chain, and lost control, the shadow immediately took chance and struck his neck with his blade.

link found himself back to the same spot he used to be in at first.

and he started attacking once again.

he died and died, slowly getting the hang of using his blades.

but no matter how much better he got, the shadow was always better.

soon enough 2 weeks passed outside.

...

Link stood on top of one of the highest skyscr.a.p.er around.

what used to be a city and streets with bustling people, now was an empty and desolate land.

the sky was as gloomy as it could be.

far off he could see, what seemed to be chained modern women of berlin, being led by knights with heavy armor.

they looked like templar knights.

Link took a breath in and started to remember the story behind earth.

...

There are nine realms or worlds, they are classified by which came to be first.

1st- Fairy realm

2nd - Draconic realm

3rd - High Elves realm

4th - Helios realm

5th - Demonic realm

6th - Titans realm

7th - Typhon realm

8th - Atlantic realm

9th - Undeath realm

The Helios realm in which link was currently in, had 3 layers, lower, mid, and peak.

its habitant was a diverse camp of humanoid races, from humans to dwarfs and halflings.

but where link currently was, didn't belong to any of the layers previously, it was an isolated part of the helios world, where criminals were exiled, deprived of the world energy knows as mana.

in other terms, the universe modern human was so curious about was nothing but a prison, they were cursed to live in because of their ancestor's fault.

Link jumped off the roof toward the templar knights.

a storm was coming, and link was its eye.
