Rebirth In KurokoNoBasket

Chapter 84 - Titles Are Coined

A Youth Basketball Magazine was released monthly, and almost all basketball clubs in Middle Schools and High Schools subscribed to the magazine.

The latest issue of said magazine was a great hit. The clubs that didn't subscribe to the magazine went out of their way to buy an issue.

The featured article of that month's issue was focused on the upcoming Middle School Nationals and the top pick to win it.

The article consisted of two parts; The starting members of the Teiko Basketball team and the last year's MVP of the tournament.

「Generation of Miracles」

~ By FictionOnlyReader.

The Teiko Middle School Basketball Club. An incredibly strong team with over one hundred members and last year championship winners.

Teiko Middle School has a glorious history, filled with numerous National appearances, and is one of the schools with a high number of championship members.

But now a group of five prodigies has joined the ranks of the school and could easily be said to the strongest team Teiko has ever had.

We can safely say that the Teiko Middle School basketball team is the best in the middle school scene right now.

Five players with overwhelming talent and skills, who work together like a well-oiled machine to bring out a team play never seen before.

*

The team is lead by the second-year captain Akashi Seijuro, the skillful point guard, who guides the team with strategic playmaking and mid-range shots and inside plays.

Akashi Seijuro is one of the best supportive point guards in the middle school division. You can clearly see it from his playmaking that he knows what is going on in the court, he utilizes his teammates with calculations and skills, that sends chills through his opponent.

*

Supporting the team from outside, second-year, vice-captain Midorima Shintaro with his perfect accuracy can score the moment he gets the ball in his hands.

The words perfect accuracy and outside scoring are enough to define Midorima Shintaro's threat on the court. By shooting from the outside, Midorima put points on the boards when asked for without fail. He is the most reliable player on the court during clutch time and end of the games.

*

Defending the basket from any incoming attack is second-year, Murasakibara Atsushi. With his height of 195 centimeters, and his ridiculous wingspan can block and rebound balls like a beast on the court.

Murasakibara Atsushi can not only defend the basket, but he can also score with total dominance on the offense. He is every opposition's nightmare when it comes to post-plays.

He is the enemy of the hoops, as rims tremble in his presence of him, as he abuses the baskets with his powerful dunks, at the same time, he takes care of the nets from even touching the ball with his defense.

*

The rookie of the team, second-year, Kise Ryota, has been playing basketball for less than half-year and has already bagged a spot on the team ahead of Nijimura Shuzo, a leading forward in the middle school scene.

An all-rounded player, who grows at basketball, at a rate, never seen before, he might be the most inexperienced player of the Teiko team, but he makes it up with pure talent.

He catches many eyes, with his charm of a model and the athleticism of a basketball player.

You can certainly see many admirers at his games and cheers when he plays on the court.

*

And at last, is the ace of the team, second-year, Aomine Daiki. The power forward, who puts up numbers that are hard to believe. A phenom to watch and a dread to play.

He can weave through the defenders like nothing and bypass any blocks with ease and technique. The ability to play with the ball without any restriction is a great one.

The scoring machine that instills fear and helplessness in the opposition, he widens the point-gap that catching up seems more difficult than climbing Mt. Everest.

*

A team filled with individual talent that works with one of the most advanced plays seen in middle school. A team that multiplies there offensive and defensive capabilities with teamwork.

Passes that get past through blocks and defenders without any difficulty, a pass work so terrifying that Teiko Middle School has the fastest offense speed in the whole scene, and their shot clock resets faster than any team at their level.

Teiko is a team made with five aces, a team that has star players, who on there are huge problems, and when you combine them, you get a team so dominant that it is difficult to think that we will ever see a team with the amount of talent that Teiko showcases.

I think it will not be a stretch to say that the five players of Teiko are era-defining geniuses, and thus I feel it is appropriate to coin them as Teiko's 「Generation of Miracles」.

「King Of The Court」

~ By FictionOnlyReader

I can safely say without hardly any opposition that Kageyama Shun from Tokiwadai Middle School is the most talented player I have seen in recent years.

Kageyama Shun, second-year, starting point guard for Tokiwadai Middle School in Tokyo, is a young player, who in his rookie year, rocked the middle school basketball scene.

At last year's Nationals, Kageyama Shun bagged all the individual awards, including the MVP of the tournament. It would have been a complete steal if Teiko Middle School hadn't won the Nationals and deprived him of a complete victory.

Kageyama Shun scored a breath-taking seventy-seven points in the finals and held his ground against the monster Teiko team.

I was there to witness the match and will rank it high in my most exciting matches ever. Especially the last action-packed fourth-quarter.

And, just at the start of this year, Kageyama Shun showed us a hundred point game.

Kageyama Shun is what you would classify as an offensive point guard, he supports the team with playmaking, but at the same time actively scores on his own.

But if you asked me, then I would classify Kageyama Shun as a positionless player, who would excel, in any area of the game.

He has already proven time after time that he can score. On top of that, his pass stealing skills placed Tokiwadai at the top in terms of turnovers.

Next is his playmaking and pass work. Kageyama Shun has shown that he can lead the team with plays as his teammates turned the turnovers into points after Kageyama Shun racked in assists.

In the defense department, Kagayama Shun is a player on the tall side, and actively takes part in rebounding on both sides of the court.

He is also a great lockdown defender when he needs to be, as proven by the Defensive Player of Year award that was presented to him last year.

He handles the ball with grace and finesse, and he scores with force and power.

Those who are new to the Middle School Basketball Scene might not understand, but Kageyama Shun is an experience. A talent I have never seen before.

His mere presence on the court scratch that his mere presence on the bench is a threat to the other team.

His track record has rendered Kageyama Shun as a powerful existence on the court that leaves his teammates open to operate as they want.

The title I will grant him is the 「King Of The Court」. His presence is so dominant that others feel helpless in the face of overwhelming skill and power.

I look forward to this year's tournament. There are many players that I look forward to seeing playing, but the one that I look forward to seeing the most is without a doubt, Kageyama Shun.

I look forward to the Advent Of The King.
