Rebirth Of The Virtual World Legend

Chapter 6 - First Silver Tier Equipment

"Young warrior, thank you for your generosity, but I still needs a lot of Metal to help increase my crafting skill. If it is not too much trouble, could you help me collect some Metal? I will be really grateful for your help." Jon continued as an exclamation mark appeared on her head.

Ye Cheng looked at Jon again. This time, a blue-colored exclamation mark appeared on his head! In the game, a blue exclamation mark meant a repeatable quest.

Ye Cheng turned over stacks of Metal, one pile a time.

'Ding! You have completed the quest: Lending A Hand. (Repeatable) Gained 8000 EXP!'

'Ding! You have completed the quest: Lending A Hand. (Repeatable) Gained 8000 EXP!'

'Ding! You have…'

With the System Notes appearing repeatedly, Ye Cheng achieved Level 8 when he turned over his 20th pile of Metal. The exclamation mark on Jon's head finally disappeared.

Jon's job definition transformed from 'Apprentice Blacksmith' to 'Master Blacksmith'

"Young warrior! You have really helped me this time. If it was not for you who knows when I can become an official blacksmith. To express my thanks, I'll give you this dagger. It was made by my teacher and I always kept it with me. But I think it will only shine with a brave warrior like you."

<System Note: Your kindness and generosity moved Jon. He has decided to give you Panther Dagger. >

A flashing black, shiny dagger appeared in his inventory as he completed the quest. This was the reward for completing a quest.

[Panther Dagger] (Silver)

Strength: +3

Dexterity: + 2

Level Requirement: 7

Note: Can increase the attack power by 30%

It was a silver tier equipment, and also the first silver equipment any player could get from a quest, or maybe in the whole game!

Ye Cheng was very happy.

He had spent a very long time roaming the forest killing monsters in order to reach Lv4 from Lv1.Now in a few minutes not only had his EXP increased at a ridiculous rate but also he got his first silver tier equipment, he felt that he was over the moon.

"Young warrior! I won't forget your favor for the rest of my life. If you have any need in the future don't hesitate to come to me, I'll do my best to help you." Said Jon with a gratified smile on his face.

<System Note: You have become friends with Master Blacksmith Jon, you gained 50% discount in Jon smithy.>

Ye Cheng expressed his thanks to Jon but as he was about to leave, Jon stopped him.

"Oh wait young warrior… with your talent I'm sure you won't stay in this village for too long. If went to the Spring Town, can you give this letter to my teacher? His name is Mark and he is a famous blacksmith there, I'm sure can give you some help there"

[A letter to Mark] (Difficulty Level: D)

Quest Description: Deliver Jon's letter to the blacksmith Mark. Will you accept it?'

The difficulty levels in the game are as follow:

D, C, B, A, S, SS, SSS

With D level being the easiest while SSS the most difficult.

A Difficulty Level of D quest wasn't that hard so Ye Cheng selected 'Accept'.

"Don't worry, I'll do my best to deliver the letter to Mr. Mark"

With that Ye Cheng took the letter, nodded to Jon and left the small smith.

'Going to a town needs the player to be above level 10, so this quest will have to wait for a while' Ye Cheng was thinking to himself as he was walking.

He decided to head to village chief as most of the quests are in his hand.

The village chief place was filled with a large crowd of people. Ye Cheng had to squeeze his way towards the village chief.

After squeezing his way to the front of the village chief, Ye Cheng asked him politely:

"Excuse me honorable village chief, is there anything that I can help you with?"

The village chief he said with a worried look on his face: " Brave warrior you've arrived in time, recently there has been a Giant Rat overpopulation cause trouble to the entire village, could you help us in killing of them?"

<System Note: Do you accept the quest: Exterminate The Giant Rats?>

A notification window suddenly opened in front of Ye Cheng.

When Ye Cheng heard this quest he was stunned for a while then he immediately pressed the "accept" option.

Of course he would accept the quest, he has never forgotten the distress that those rats had caused him.

Even if he killed 8 of them he still couldn't completely put the fire in his heart.

After accepting the quest, Ye Cheng squeezed his way out the crowd and ran towards the outskirts of the village.

Upon reaching the outskirts of the village, Ye Cheng was utterly stunned.

Was there something wrong with the village chief's eyes? Where exactly how was there a case of Giant Rat overpopulation? It was practically a case of human overpopulation.

There were players everywhere in the vicinity, like zombies roaming the lands. As soon as they saw a monster re-spawn, they would all pounce on it as though they were fighting for free money thrown in the street. Not even a full second has passed until that the poor monster was sent back into the system data after it had re-spawned

'Some people say that there is overpopulation in the cities but in my opinion this is what can be called a human overpopulation' thought Ye Cheng to himself.

No matter where you looked, there is people even more than monsters.

Shaking his head at the sad fate of those monsters, Ye Cheng went into the forest heading to the Giant Rats' area.

After reaching the area he activated his stealth skill and observed the giant rats from afar.

Although he was stronger than the Lv6 giant rats, after his first encounter, Ye Cheng learnt from his mistake and didn't want to underestimate his opponents and advance recklessly.

There was 20 Giant Rats. 15 of them were at Lv6 while the other 5 were at Lv7.

'It won't be difficult to solve all of them'

Ye Chen moved and arrived quietly at one of the Lv7 Giant Rats the slashed at its throat.

As he was a level higher, the Giant Rat didn't even feel his presence until its death.

The other Giant Rats finally reacted after their companion's death and let out a low grown.

One of them bit at Ye Cheng's leg.

Ye Cheng sent a side Kick towards it, causing it to be launched into the air as Ye Cheng followed up with slash at its throat.

What happened after that was a one sided slaughter, the Giant Rats didn't have any ability to fight back before they died tragically.

After killing the Giant Rats, Ye Cheng returned to the village to finish the quest.

After returning to the village, Ye Cheng handed over the quest to the village chief, who smiled at him and said: "brave warrior, you have really helped this village by getting rid of these Giant Rats."

'Ding! You have completed the quest: Exterminate The Giant Rats Gained 8000 EXP!'

"One of the village hunter William seems to be in some troubles, why don't you go over and try if you can help him!"

After asking people of the village, Ye Cheng found the hunter William's place. He lived in a small house in the west of the village. Hunter William was man in his middle age with a brown hair he had a worried look on his face as he sat in front of his house maintaining his axe.

"Excuse me, is there anything that you would like me to help you in?" Ye Cheng asked as he arrived in front of Hunter William.

Hunter William eyes suddenly lit up: "So it is a Brave Warrior, I have a quest here, would you like listen?"

"What quest is it?" asked Ye Cheng

The hunter's face suddenly became very sad: "One of my friends was killed by a Wolf, I want to avenge him, but my power is not enough to fight the wolf pack. Brave Warrior, are you willing to help me kill that Wild Wolf and get my revenge?"

<System Note: You have activated the "Revenge" quest, quest difficulty B, will you accept this quest?">

"Accept!" Ye Cheng accepted without the slightest hint of hesitation.

<System Note: "Revenge"

Kill the Wolf King in the beginner village's Forest 0/1.

Quest description: no parties allowed! Available until reaching Lv10 (any violation of mentioned before will be counted as Quest Failure.)>

"Be at ease Mr. William, I'll definitely help you kill that bastard!" With that Ye Cheng headed off towards the forest.

"Did you hear the Crimson Fire Guild are fighting a Silver tier boss now"

"Of course I heard! Those b**tards have closed the entire forest for this! I had a Quest that required hunting some monster in the forest but now I can't go in"

"What can we do this is large guild with over 1000 players"

"This should be the first boss in the game, it will be a great achievement for their guild if they could kill it"

"I really hope that someone go and miss this thing for them, he will be my idol"

"Who would dare to do that even other guilds would give them some face?"

"You are right about that"

Ye Cheng was walking to the forest when the name "Crimson Fire Guild" entered his ears so he decided prick his ears closer at their conversation.

"So those guys are fighting a boss now! I still didn't pay them pack last time"

"No! As a benevolent human being I should forgive them for small mistakes, but what if they were in danger and needed help after all killing Silver tier boss won't be that easy"

"Yeah! Being a good man is not easy!"

Ye Cheng was talking to himself about helping them but the evil smile on his face told otherwise.

Ignoring all the monsters along the way, Ye Cheng headed straight towards the area he heard the players talking about.

When Ye Cheng reached the area, there was a large gathering of players. When Ye Cheng neared the group, he saw one of the Crimson Fire Guild players pushing a warrior at Lv3 away.

"Scram kid, we are from the Crimson Fire Guild, if you want to snatch a mob check if you have the ability to do that first." The guild player's voice was very loud scaring the other player away.

Ye Cheng thought that what the guy said made sense so he checked if his stats were up to par. After checking for a while, his answer was 'yes they're enough'.
