Rebirth:The Badass Young Lady

Chapter 57 - Incomparable

"I will have to say no to this." Gu Xiao Yue declared with seriousness.

"Although it is indeed tempting to be able to cultivate and become stronger than anyone but it's not what I aim for. This isn't really a part of my goal. I am very much curious about my origins but that can wait or maybe just not get revealed at all because the past is past while the present doesn't need it."

Gu Xiao Yue rejected the idea of cultivating after weighing its importance and its impact on her life and goal.

Bai widened his eyes at her determined answer and then something changed in his eyes. The previous disappointment he felt about Gu Xiao Yue faded and a bit of appreciation surfaced inside his bluish gray eyes.

"Are you sure about this? It's a thing that anyone would even kill to learn, you know." Bai asked her with a hint of temptation in his childish voice.

"I'm sure about this. It might be good to cultivate and get stronger but I don't have much time to waste on cultivating and aiming to become the strongest or whatever. What I really aim for is to become the strongest, not in martial arts but in business, status and power of my own!" Gu Xiao Yue continued, her eyes shining with confidence and determination.

" I am already good enough with all the knowledge about martial arts that was passed to me by my master. Anything more is unnecessary and you also said that I cannot achieve great in martial arts through cultivation."

"And I might only garner unnecessary trouble if I got found out by any other spiritualists. I want to enjoy this life fully, avoiding any trouble that can be avoided. So that my family, my friends and I can be safe and sound."

Gu Xiao Yue hadn't thought only about herself and her goal, she had also thought about what might be beneficial for her and also her loved ones.

She met these people as someone else but she still cherished them very much and wouldn't endanger them even if the possibility of it happening is only 1/10.

...

"I see. That's a pity then. But since you have decided already, I won't force you. It's all up to you whether you learn it or not. It's good that you have at least thought about it clearly. I really look forward to see how you will do later on. But you can also change your mind anytime. I will help you with anything I can as the guardian spirit."

Bai smiled at her like a happy kid even though he said it was a pity. He seemed to be amused by her choice and her thoughts.

" By the way, I forgot to tell you that your soul will subconsciously gather spiritual qi in small amount without you trying so isn't that a good news for you?" A mischievous smile appeared on his face as he said that.

"What? Why didn't you tell me that earlier?" Gu Xiao Yue frowned at his words.

"Actually, gathering spiritual qi subconsciously is really a great thing. Not just anyone can do that. Your soul is different since it has something sealed inside. And that something is also what lets your soul to subconsciously gather the spiritual qi inside. How do you expect to use the power of 'Heaven's eyes' if your soul couldn't gather spiritual qi?" Bai circled around her as he explained.

Gu Xiao Yue was annoyed. She knew that he deliberately didn't tell her about this earlier. She glared at him with her cold eyes which made him stop at his tracks.

" Don't look at me like that. I really only forgot to mention it before, it wasn't on purpose! Anyway, you are lucky that you can at least use the 'Heaven's eyes'. You can come to this space anytime you want with just a thought and also leave just the same." Bai continued

" You can also bring in other people but.....I don't recommend you to really do that. The secret about the godly artifact might make too big of a sensation in the whole world which might be even more troublesome than just getting found by other martial artists."

Gu Xiao Yue understood the importance about this matter and already knew that it wouldn't be good for her if the news about this godly artifact went out to other's ears. And she really didn't want that.

" Anyway, if you want to practice martial arts, not cultivate then you may also come inside the space for better results. The air is filled with spiritual qi and the peaceful surroundings also helps to double the outcome of your training. But it's all up to you." Bai then turned around and floated towards the cottage, leaving behind a sentence.

" Oh and you are already pretty late for your school, go out of the space fast or else your family might get too worried about you." His figure then faded after he got infront of the cottage.

Then suddenly, the surroundings began to change and Gu Xiao Yue's sight went black. After a moment, she found herself inside the familiar scene of her room. She was lying on her bed, the sun already high up in the sky and the alarm clock was ringing as loud as the barrage of worried knocks on the door.

She hurriedly snoozed off the alarm clock, got out of her bed and walked towards the door. She opened the door and found that her brothers and also her grandpa, with some maids and butlers were gathered outside her door with very worried and fearful expressions in each face.

The moment she opened the door and got out, grandpa Gu and her brothers didn't even say anything and hurriedly looked all over her to check if she was alright. They then hugged her tightly as if finally relieved to find her safe.

Gu Xiao Yue didn't know how to explain nor comfort them so she just let them hug her till satisfied.

.....

The three finally let go of her after 3 minutes. They seemed to have calmed down from their tumultuous emotions they were feeling just before seeing her.

"Ah Yue, why didn't you open the door before? Did something happen to you? I don't see any injuries so it might not be something physical. Or did you perhaps faint?" Grandpa Gu asked her and became worried, the more he thought about it.

"Grandpa, it isn't like that at all. I'm very much fine and healthy. It's just that I slept late last night so I couldn't wake up early as usual and I was so deep asleep that I couldn't even hear you knocking at the door nor the alarm clock ringing. I'm sorry that I made you so worried about me." Gu Xiao Yue made up an excuse and then sincerely apologised to them.

She felt guilty for making them worry about her like that and was also very touched by their care for her.

" So that's how it is. It's good that you are alright but make sure to take good care of your health, dear. You should sleep early and take enough rest." Grandpa Gu advised her as he c.a.r.e.s.sed her head lovingly.

"Yeah, Xiao Yue. You should look out for your health more. Look how thin you are, you should at least get a little bit more cubby than this!" Gu Qin Zhen said that with a cheerful look to lift up the atmosphere.

"Mm. You should indeed get chubbier instead of only bones. But no matter how you are, you will still be the same adorable little sister of mine." Gu Shao Yan said that and smiled lightly.

"You mean 'ours' right, Yan?" Gu Qin Zhen glared at him and asked. Gu Shao Yan just ignored him and turned his head sideways.

Gu Xiao Yue felt a warmth which was very hard to describe inside her heart that seemed to be melting away the walls she put on her heart to keep herself from getting hurt again.

This feeling made her feel overwhelmed with emotion so she hugged the three suddenly which made them blank out for a second then hugged her back with a loving smile on their faces.

She really wanted to keep these group of lovable and adorable people safe and sound. She couldn't afford to lose them again like she did with her parents.

She now wanted to make sure to avoid the unknown danger from the hidden experts and just focus on the main thing she needed to do above anything else.

Because nothing was more important than her loved ones, even her own revenge plans.
