Reborn As A Fox Beastman With Modern Knowledge

Chapter 47 - 47: Going Back Home

Walking in the forest with the moonlight shining on us, James and Kat followed behind me. As we walk further and further, we arrive in front of a tree.

"So… where is it?" James asks, looking around.

Going around the tree, I drag the camouflage netting off, uncovering the bike. Taking the key from my pocket, I start the engine.

VROOOOOM!

As the engine revs to life, I turn on the headlights. With a comical hanging mouth and widen eyes, James and Kat are speechless.

"Do you want to get on?" I look at them as I place my helmet over my head. "Or do you want to stay here and get captured?"

"Can I ride on the front!" Kat happily waves her arm.

"I'm not sure if you can sit in front of me, you can just ride behind me with James."

"But I want to feel the wind." She said dejectedly.

"You can still feel the wind even if you're not in front."

"I don't want to get squished betwe…"

"G-guys?" James said as he looks at the sky.

""What?"" Kat and I ask James.

"What the hell is that?" He points at the sky.

As Kat squints her eyes, I flip my helmet visor up and grab my binoculars.

"Shit! Get on now!" Quickly storing my binoculars and flipping my helmet visor down, I rev up the bike.

VROOM! VROOM!

With James jumping on the back of the bike with Kat, I drove us out of the forest.

"What was that!?" Kat shouts.

"Wyvern's!" I shout as I drove the bike, heading out of the forest.

"What!? How do we get away from that!?" James said with concern in his voice.

"Let's hope we're much faster than it!" Taking air as I drove the bike on a small embankment.

""Arrggghhhhhhh!!!"" James and Kat held on tight as the bike went off the ground for a few centimeters.

Bouncing on the ground after landing, I quickly drove on the dirt path. Looking at the side mirrors, I notice that a total of four wyverns are following us, quickly catching up to us on air. Thinking of a way to lose them, I call Kat who is sitting behind me.

"Grab my gun!" I shout at Kat.

Without hesitation, she grabs my gun off the holster.

"Good! Do you know how to use it!?"

"I think so."

"Just point and shoot!"

"Ok!"

As I watch Kat on the side mirror, she grabs on my shoulder as she steadies her aim.

BANG!

As the four wyverns close in towards us, one of them suddenly roars in pain as a 9mm bullet hits the scaly c.h.e.s.t of the wyvern. The rider quickly tried to regain control as it retreated.

"Nice shot!" I happily said to Kat.

"Thanks!"

The remaining three quickly dive towards us with spears, ready to impale us.

"They're getting closer!" James warns us.

"Shoot them down!" I yell.

BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!

Firing all the bullets from the magazine, Kat manages to hit multiple rounds on one of the wyvern making it retreat, while the other two got graze, they still charge in.

"Hold on!" I shout out to James and Kat.

In a split second, I hit the brakes. The two wyverns went over us as we quickly slowed down.

"Give me the gun!" Letting go of the throttle I held my hand towards my back.

As Kat passes my M9, I quickly reload before shooting at the riders.

BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!

Firing at the two riders, one got hit two times at the back. Making his lifeless body dangle on the saddle as the spear fell off his hand, making it pierce to the ground as the dragon flew off. The other rider got hit on his arm, forcing him to retreat. Holstering back my M9, I quickly drove away, heading to the tunnel.|||||After resting and driving for a few hours, we arrive at the tunnel. As the night sky starts to brighten, I park in front of the entrance.

"Finally, we can go home," I mutter to myself as I breathe a sigh of relief.

"Yeah, getting chased by wyverns is just too stressful," Kat said.

"I hope we got a month-long worth of vacation out of this or some sort of reward," James said.

"So what are you going to do after this?" I ask James and Kat.

"Have a less dangerous job?" James shrugs.

"I never knew you would like that, cause danger always follows you." Kat snickers.

"Oh, shut up." James ruffles Kat's hair. "Then why are you always following a danger magnet? Isn't it the same for you?" Both of them laugh at that while I chuckle.

"Enough chatting! It's time to go!" I excitedly yell!||[Silfridia]||After driving towards Silfridia for a few hours, I park on the courtyard of the castle.

"Finally we're here," I said as I hop off the bike.

Taking my helmet off and hanging it on the handle, I stretch my sore back. James and Kat also stretching.

"Let's report to King Philip," Kat said.

"Yeah, we should thank the King," James said.

As we walk into the hallway, I ask one of the servants if Philip is available.

"The King is currently talking with officials." He replied.

"Thank you for telling me," I said to him.

Bowing, he walks away to do his work.

"Let's wait in the throne room."

After arriving in the throne room, we wait for half an hour before Philip went out of the commercial room. As Philip saw me with James and Kat, he beams at us.

"Son! I'm glad you made it!" He wraps his arms around my shoulders and pats my back before letting go.

Without me noticing, both James and Kat kneels before Philip.

"I'm glad both of you are safe, so please, don't kneel."

"Thank you, my King. You don't have to be worried about us, we're just doing our jobs." James said as he stood up.

"Yes, no matter what job it is, we will serve you with our lives," Kat said.

"Please don't thro-." Without finishing Philip's sentence, I hit Kat on her head with my fist.

Philip and James were dumbfounded by my action.

"Ow! What was that for!?" Kat squats on the floor as she rubs her sore head, small tears swell on her eyes.

"To what you previously said." I crouch in front of her. "Look, no matter what mission or task you're given, don't ever dare needlessly throw your life away." I gently pat her head, a tinge of red glows on her cheeks.

"I have to go now." I stood up, as I walk to the hallway.

"Alright, have a safe journey," Philip said to me. "Ask me if you need anything."

"Thanks, Master," James said to me while waving his hand.

"Ma-Felix! Thank you for everything!" Kat happily smiles as she said that.

"Ooooh. Felix huh?" James smirks at Kat.

"Shut up!" She said while embarrass, punching James' shoulder.

"You're welcome," I said as I walk out of the room.
