"Is this okay?" Lennox asked in his text.

I enlarged the picture he sent and found that it was a screenshot of his tweets in response to that malicious article about him.

I felt so angry when I first saw that tasteless article. It was really trying hard to tear Lennox's reputation. It was also absurd since after all, they used Kristine, out of all people, as Lennox's abandoned woman.

Frankly, everything about that news article is just so wrong! Lennox does not need to hire women to please him because women would readily present theirselves to him. Besides, if he was really an easy person, why would it take me so long just to 'capture' him?

But really, I feel so resentful. I hate the people who are behind the propagation of that false story. I am not certain who it is, but if my guess is right, it just people who are too jealous of Lennox.

After all, he is young, good-looking and a competent leader. He is getting too much praise from the media and also netizens. Everyone practically knows him now and admire his governance, despite not living in La Coron City. In fact, his followers on his social media accounts have almost caught up to the president's.

Many people are also saying that Lennox's actions towards mitigating the after-effects of the typhoon was far more effective than the national government.

Honestly, I could not help but also agree. Lennox is innovative and has a sense of urgency. He did not hesitate to take action right away and help his constituents.

But as for the national government...

I do not even know what they're exactly doing to tackle this situation.

My lips were in a grim line but upon reading Lennox's tweets, I couldn't help but let out a smile.

@lennoxzevallos: I do not feel the need to deal with malicious and false allegations about me, since there is a bigger problem that we are facing right now. For me, we should just focus on helping out each other to help those who are affected by this calamity.

On the second tweet, there was a picture attached. It was a picture of a teenage Lennox with Kristine, as well as two adult women. If I'm not wrong, those two women could be Lennox's mum and aunt.

Quickly, I sent a reply to him.

Me: Mmm. It is good. Even if you don't say all that, I know that you are a good person, you know. I know you. You're a good guy. And usually, it is the good guys that they always try to bring down.

Lennox: Thanks.

Then, I clicked the camera function and turned it into the front camera. I took a picture of me blowing a kiss.

Since Lennox was so petty over me talking to Kyle Diaz, he insisted that he and I should be connected in all social media accounts. And that, I also send him pictures of me.

It's no bother at all since I am the kind of person who usually does that anyway... I just did not use that trick on him before he confessed since I thought that it would be improper.

Me: Keep going! Good job, Mayor. I'm cheering for you. *kiss emojis*

I let out a soft laugh when he didn't reply for a minute even though he has already seen the message.

Lennox: Ah, now, I'm really energised to work even harder.

Lennox: *kiss emojis*

I laughed again upon seeing the emojis that he sent. He's not an emoji type of person and it looks a bit unnatural when he does send some.

Truthfully, the sudden calamity that hit the country only makes Lennox shine more.

It proved that he is a really good public servant, who truly thinks of his people.

In fact, he is so busy nowadays that we rarely get to see each other. It is only through our daily texts and calls that we are able to catch up.

Since I was already a volunteer at La Coron City's medical hall, I did not let this typhoon stop me from volunteering even more.

There has been a spike in patients seeking help, and I helped in giving health services to them.

Other than that, using my pocket money as Millen Yu, I was able to order some relief goods and distribute it to people.

The pocket money that Millen Yu had was really ridiculous. It is no wonder they are filthy rich.

Based from her memories, before, she would always use this hefty amount of pocket money to buy all the latest dresses and handbags. In fact, it would not even be enough for her and she'd ask for more, which her parents will willingly give.

Upon my curiosity, I decided to ask Juli, Millen's best friend, through a call.

But when I heard her answer, I had wished that I did not ask at all.

I was only disappointed and could not believe how she doesn't feel any empathy for those affected.

"Eh? It does not really concern me. I mean, it's their problem. It's their fault they ended up that way. They should've prepared emergency funds or something because you never know what could happen, right? If we help them, they'd only continue to be lazy. It's their fault that they are poor." Juli said in a conceited tone.

I do not even remember what I said to her after that, but I just quickly ended our call.

Elite people like her can help those who are in need, but they chose not to because they don't care enough.

They are privileged and because it does not directly affect them, it is no concern for them.

Poor people are not lazy at all. In fact, I could say that most even work harder than those who are in executive roles. They work hard just to have something to eat everyday and live from pay-check to pay-check.

So, how can they have the privilege to be able to prepare for the 'emergency' funds that she was talking about?

These elites don't realise that the poor, only stay poor, because they are being oppressed by the national government and others who are in power. Then, they are also taken advantage of by the wealthy.

Suddenly, I remember a quote that Lennox said before, which he apparently read from a book.

I think 'political illiterate' is precisely the word I'd describe these wealthy people. Admittedly, I was also one myself in my original life.
