"Ahhh!"

Even though it was no use since I had tape over my mouth, I couldn't help but shiver and continue screaming as we got in the helicopter, remembering the fragment of memories during the day I 'died'.

It was suffocating and ever since that day, I honestly developed a fear of riding planes or any kind of that. For this very reason, I declined everytime Millen Yu's parents would invite me to go on a vacation overseas. I would only join their vacation for courtesy purposes whenever we travelled by yacht around the islands in the country and neighbouring countries.  

It was a very scary ride, as if I was living an actual nightmare...

Even though I feel uncertain and admittedly, petrified, I just could not wait to get to wherever they want to take me.

I just want this to be over... I don't like the feeling of travelling by air...

I'm scared! I'm scared that it's going to crash down and everything's going to be dark again!

I thought I would forget the feeling, but my body itself is instinctive and seems to be automatically petrified, reacting on its own.

As I heard the loud noise of landing, I tried hard to keep myself awake but I just couldn't....

"I think she's awake already, Sir." a loud voice remarked.

Slowly, I opened my eyes, wishing that everything else that I have witnessed before was just a nightmare. That at least, I had my life just the way it was before.

However, now, I was stuck in an environment that wasn't that different from the last place I've been. It seemed to be an abandoned warehouse, with everything so dark and only dim lights illuminating the whole place.

I felt that my hands and feet were still tied. However, unlike before, the tape on my mouth has been removed.

I was slightly relieved at that, as I was able to bite my lips. Now, what do I do? Am I even capable of doing anything in this situation?

I heard loud footsteps and smelt hints of cigar.

Xavier Ayala, now changed into casual clothes, looked at me with dark eyes. He casually threw his cigar on the floor as he walked towards me.

I only glared at him intensely. If only I could, I'd yell at him violently and if my body was free, I'd like to at least slap him.

"How can you do this?" I said in a very bitter tone, acid dropping in every word.

It turned out that I'm really not a good judge of character. I was with him and Juli for a long time while completing Millen's bachelors course. I should've suspected him from as early as that!

It was his shameless flirt and sarcastic facade that made me think so otherwise. I thought he was just a typical rich boy who was unproblematic...

Xavier didn't answer as he only moved even closer to me. He caressed my cheek and looked at my lips with a hungry gaze.

Noticing what I did, Xavier glared at me, fuming with anger.

Suddenly, he reached for the upper part of my dress as he tried to drag it down slowly.

"No!!! What the hell are you doing!!" I screamed.

The sleeveless dress that I was wearing was quite modest. Its length was up to my knees and the upper part was covering even my collarbones.

Even with just one attempt of trying to bring down the top part, my collarbones got exposed to Xavier.

He looked down on it a little bit closer, noticing the reddish, bruise-like marks all over my collarbones.

Immediately, Xavier stopped with what he was doing as he looked at me with pure disgust.

"Before... you never slept with anyone, right? You even told me that you'd only give in with someone worthy enough for you, someone that you love. But it turns out, you were just like a slut sleeping around?" he insulted.

He forcefully held my chin as I only glared at him even more.

"When I saw you at the plaza that day, you were probably with the man who gave you these, huh? Who is it? Tell me? Is it some dirty man that your family recommended? Since you rejected the idea of sleeping with the ones like me who are young and rich... your type must be dirty old men, huh?"

Xavier looked like I was some kind of a revolting existence, not giving me any face.

How truly arrogant...

Everything about him screams so toxic. How can he treat Millen as if she was some prize to be won? Why is he acting as if Millen owes him her virginity?

And isn't he with Juli anyway? How dare he try to make filthy moves on me?

I don't know if he can go any lower than this.

But I do hope that he continues being disgusted that way... I hope he doesn't try to attempt do awful things.

It'd be great if he stays far, far away from me.

"You should've taken me seriously from the very start instead. Maybe this wouldn't happen, you know? If you liked me, I could propose marriage to you and both of our business empires will benefit. No need for your stupid father to take out his shares."

As I heard him say those words, I could not help but frown my eyebrows and let out a 'disgusted' expression.

Only a crazy person would be willing to be with this kind of guy. Controlling, sketchy and manipulative. Even his conventionally attractive looks cannot save the destructive nature he has.

These kind of men shouldn't exist at all... they're the scumbags of this world!

"Why go this far? Why don't you do exactly what you said, and marry some other rich heiress to save your empire? Aren't you a couple with Juli?" I said in a sarcastic tone.

Xavier only snickered at my remarks as he let out a forced, fake laughter.

"You really think it would work? With the amount of damage that your father caused us and the problems that we were facing beforehand, you were the only girl eligible to marry. You have both the political power and wealth to protect us. The business that her family had don't mean anything at all. In fact, just like us, they rely on your family's investments. The only difference is they're not gutsy enough..."

Gutsy? So swindling is just 'gutsy' for him, huh? Fooling people for their money, lying about the quality of their projects...

Does this guy even have any morals at all?

Although until now, I am still unable to have a full grasp of the whole situation, I am pretty sure, from his reactions, that his family is among those who are involved with the fraudulent cases.

"I won't call engaging in estafa as gutsy..." I said in a mocking tone.

Xavier only glared at me with disdain as I smirked at his reaction.

How stupid of me.

I should've taken the Yu family matters more seriously. I should've investigated and listened more.

I've been too intoxicated with the sweetness of my mission and overlooked other matters...

It's good that I've never agreed to meet up with this guy even though he persisted... or else, who would've known what would happen? Maybe much worse than this? I don't know.

But still, I carelessly got Millen Yu's family into trouble. I don't know what this is and if I could ever get out, but it looks like they're going to ask for some kind of ransom.

I am ashamed and regretful, as Millen Yu's family was only good to me. Although I was not exactly Millen, I have felt the warmth of having parents and even a grandfather for a first time...

They only gave love and genuine care for me... while all along, I was not being sincere at all.

I was constantly holding myself back from being truly sincere because I knew that those affections weren't meant for me, right? They're all meant for the real Millen. Though, the least thing I can do is not cause any trouble for them...

"Shut the fuck up! You don't know anything!" Xavier hissed.

There was something bothering me from the very start. I have to say it, no matter how bad he'd react. He needs to taste a sense of truth.

"Why resort to doing inhumane things like these? Even if you got your business empire got bankrupt and face charges for the swindling that your family has done, I'm sure that you would still have left-over wealth, right? It might not be as vast as the wealth that you're used to, but you will still be able to live comfortably. You will still be lucky, especially luckier than the millions in this country who are suffering in poverty. You're acting like you're so miserable when you are still very privileged and never even experienced any real suffering at all."

Xavier only laughed at what at said, not taking it seriously. He looked like he was listening to something ridiculous.

"Oh, dear Millen... do you think I'd be able to settle for any less when I've been living a rich life all along? You must be fucking kidding me. Besides, this isn't simply trying to get back on our tracks. This is revenge, for the stupid decisions your father made. How dare he? It's all your family's fault!" he said grimly.

It is them who did treacherous things in the first place and even resorted to methods like this... but in the end, Xavier is trying to justify their actions by putting blame on Millen Yu's family. 

Greed has poisoned his soul too much...
