After getting off the stage and greeting Asta by handing him a stink bug, this fake Xerx Lugner took his place among his teammates.

Seeing that everyone's teams had been made, Julius coughed loudly to draw everyone's attention.

"Ahem! Due to there being an uneven number of teams, one team will automatically advance to the next round."

*Gasps*

*Whisper*

*Whisper*

Waiting for everyone to quiet down, Julius continued. "The team who shall be advancing to the next round will be Team I!!"

"Team I!!"

"Them!"

"Tch, well I guess that makes sense."

Hearing all the mummers around him, the only thought in Grim's head was 'Who the fuċk is team I?'

After searching for team I's team members on the board, Grim understood why they were automatically advanced to the next round.

While the team didn't look like much, Grim guessed that they were able to advance to the next round because of this mysterious X person. It seemed like a couple of the other magic knights had figured this out as well.

'What are you hiding wizard king?'

Seeing Grim's eyes land on him, the wizard king showed him a friendly smile before addressing the rest of the magic knights. "Now then, if you would please step through the portal over there." He pointed to an open door that was connected to a portal. "We can now make a start with the exam."

Walking through the portal with Asta and the others, the group was brought to an outdoor area filled with forests, sand and grassy terrains.

"OH MY GOD!! ITS THE CRYSTAL DESTRUCTION BATTLE TOURNAMENT STAGE!!!" A random magic knight yelled in awe.

"REALLY!"

"IT IS!!"

While everyone was getting hyped over the battle grounds, Grim wondered why the people in this world got excited over the smallest things.

Once everyone had arrived, Julius called everyone's attention.

"This battle stage is divided into several different areas so that everyone is able to use their powers to the fullest. And for the sake of fairness, we the rounds were decided by us earlier by drawing lots so if you could pay attention to the board behind me you'll see what team you are and who your opponents are."

Looking up at the bored, Grim's face fell when he saw who he was up against.

'Fucking scrubs again.'

Of all the people on the enemy team he was up against in the first round, only a girl named Wainsley caught his attention. But don't get it twisted, this had nothing to do with her ability as a magic knight. If he hadn't heard someone shout her name during the Blue Rose attack incident, he doubted that he would even take notice of such a plain looking girl.

[A/n: As a man of culture, I respect plain looking girls because we all know that they have to work twice as hard compared to naturally good looking girls.]

"Yo! You're Grim right?" While he was dealing with the fact that he had to fight a bunch of no names for his first match, an unfamiliar voice snapped him back to reality.

"Huh?"

"David!" Mimosa suddenly said once she saw the person who called out.

Turning to look at this David guy, Grim cast a glance over his figure.

'Blue eyes, short blonde hair and quite tall... Why do I get the feeling that this guy would be fetishized by an angry little man who was deranged over the fact that he couldn't grow a moustache properly? Weird.'

"Oh? You were here to Mimosa." David said in surprise seeing his squad mate standing here.

Before she could answer, another unfamiliar voice rang out in the distance as a girl with long wavy brown hair and green eyes hurried over to them.

"Grim and David Swallow right?"

"Oooooo, you must be Miss Selena from the Blue Rose right?" David said after seeing her magic knight robe.

"Ah yes!" She suddenly bowed. "Pleased to make your awuaintence!-

Going red in the face, she realized that she had bit her tongue and messed up her introduction.

'CUTE!!' Was the only word David could describe it as.

'Hmm.' Looking at the girl, Mimosa couldn't help but frown as she saw that Selena had been sneakily throwing glances Grim's way.

While Grim had seen it to, he merely shrugged it off. It was only natural after all. Considering the fact that he had soloed several magic knight bases by himself which proved his strength, it wasn't a surprise that women would be interested in him. Also factoring in his above average appearance into the equation, it'd be stranger if he didn't attract her attention.

After bidding farewell to Mimosa and the rest, Grim and his teammates made their way to their own corner.

"So what's your magic attributes?" He asked once they were far enough from the other teams.

Dice Magic: Magic that manifests dice that generate power in proportion to the number of pips rolled.

After hearing his description, Grim couldn't help but think about how unreliable this type of magic was. Right now, David combat potential was probably the weakest in the group. If it weren't for him being a noble and having a vast amount of mana, Grim would consider him completely useless.

Moving onto Selena, Grim didn't really need to hear her explanation as he already knew more about water magic than he would have probably liked to. Not to mention that he had once taken the full brunt of it, not that he would remind her.

"Okay." He nodded after hearing about their abilities. "What do you know about the enemy magic knights? Since Wainsley is part of the Blue Rose, you go first Selena."

While it was unknown why Grim was calling all the shots at the moment, it seemed like Selena and David didn't really have a problem with it and naturally followed his lead.

Gathering all the intel needed, Grim could only admit that the opposing team really were scrubs.

'Well then, lets get this over with.'

Stepping onto the battlefield, Grim and the other magic knights were informed that they weren't allowed to kill anyone.
