1: Asuma becomes team 7 sensei, since Sasuke's dad is alive they don't need Kakashi to guide him on how to use the Sharingan. Also this been happening a while back since the medic nin reform was added so now teams are of 4 including a medic now. Medic nin reform as open a branch specific for potential candidates, starting early on training.

2: leave it as cannon and have Kakashi as teacher. if u wondering about Naruto, he is basically the same but with better chakra control and can do up to intermediate fujinjutsu, other wise he is still a prankster with his iconic orange uniform but with more black on it like in Shippuden.

now some other stuff that I forgot to add. Asuma does have a older brother but since he is in anbu his life is a secret. He was Hiruzen right hand man as her wife of his brother was his left hand. both use monkey anbu mask.

they did had Konohamaru but dad and mom died on a mission. At the moment Konohamaru lives under Asuma house since he is his uncle, being taken care by Lluvia as her mother figure.
