Reborn Into Star Wars

Chapter 12 - To Lose Oneself

The buzzer sounded and I accelerated. I had some kind of muscle memory from Galak Cosmo, kind of like how I could understand common languages in chapter three 'chapter three, what am I talking about?'

I was off, the first thing I noticed was the wall popping up right in front of me. I swerved to the right and kept going. The wind in my hair and a trench in front of my face. Using the force I lifted my speeder from the ground and threw myself over the trench. Wall after wall, hole after hole, obstacles were popping out of nowhere. The ground constantly changing. After what felt like a second I was sitting across the finish line screaming my head off from the adrenaline. I even punched the person next to me in the face.

"What Was That For!?" Ezra yelled at me "I… um… adrenaline… sorry. Let's go" I walked off. As I was leaving the track I heard the announcers start speaking. "12.8 seconds, a new track record. To be fair the only other person to do this track died, but impressive nonetheless."

We met with the mechanic after the race and he gave us the address of the girls mother. We arrived just hours later.

"Let me do the talking." Ezra didn't seem to like my personality "fine if she refuses to say anything I'll kill her." Ezra immediately stopped walking. "What? Don't say stuff like that."

"If she refuses to tell us about her daughter she will only be contributing to the death of a valuable all, condemning the galaxy to be ruled by tyrants." Ezra scrunched his eyebrows and gave me a scornful look. "The republic will win." I'm lucky I know the future.

"They will, luckily. However there will always be dark where there is light, and the dark will rise again, just as the light rises now"

"If the Sith rises again we will defeat them"

"And that's what the sith think about the Jedi"

"It's not time to discuss philosophy, we have work to do"

"Indeed"

When we arrived at the house Ezra ringed the doorbell, I used the Force to search the house for life, there were three living being in the building. A man with a wrinkled face and salt and pepper colored hair answered the door and ezra started to speak. "Good evening sir, is this the Carrick residence? If so I am looking for a young woman by the name of Shalla" Using Force sense I could read this man like a book, he was worried. "Uh… no, I've never met someone by that name" I said I would kill them if they lied. I can't. "I can sense that you are worried. Perhaps for your daughter's safety, but I must assure you that if the rumors are true, and one of the other life forces in your house is your daughter, that no harm will come to her." 'and now he's more worried, that did not turn out well. Why did I let him know I could use the Force?'

The man steps into the door way, blocking it "I will not let the sith take mu daughter" 'well at least I guessed that he was her father, it would be awkward if he wasn't' "you've already taken my wife, I Won't Let You Take Her!"

Ezra stepped between me and the man "We aren't Sith, I'm not anyways. We want to help your daughter, train her to where she can protect herself" the man's face softened, I guess that's the power of Ezra's beard for you. "I want to believe you… give me a reason to trust you"

"I once killed a battalion of stormtroopers, does that help?" Ezra turned to me with a priceless expression "when did that happen?" "on the Death Star about three years ago while I was saving Princess Leia"

The man just sighed "alright, I'll take you in to see her." the interior of the building was broken down, a hole in the wall beside a family picture, the little furniture there was in disrepair.

Walking to the center of the room, the man lifted a matted rug to reveal a metal hatch. He knocked 6 times with an equal amount of time between each knock. There was a click and the hatch opened to reveal a young woman, she was without flaw. I had received a rough sketch of her, but it did her no justice. Her dark hair complimented her light green eyes so well, she had a light but strong frame, and there seemed not to be a single blemish on her skin.

I turned to look at the girls father 'his wife must be beautiful.' the girl, shalla, looked at me and immediately scowled. She jumped, clawing at me… I Force threw her at the wall. My hands tensed, I was choking the life out of her 'she shouldn't have attacked me. I'm not a bad guy.' she was loosing consciousness 'maybe I shouldn't have worn this cloak, but it protects me' the light was leaving her eyes 'I can't believe she thought she was strong enough to atta-' I fell to the ground
