Reborn Into Star Wars

Chapter 15 - Preparing For Battle

I had been training with my mentors for 4 months and there were results. I was much more in tune with myself, it felt like I was starting to regain something I had lost long ago. I could flow with the world around me, or I could force the world to submit to my will. I had been taught to use a lightsaber by Master Emmett, he said it was form five and I was starting to get the hang of it,  but Emmett was still hard on me. Though I seemed to grow close to my mentor, he was always slightly harsh and quick to anger, but always seemed sad after we trained, as if he felt regret.

Ezra on the other hand was always patient and nice, he helped me meditate and feel the force, he had said that relying on anger to use the force could turn someone mad. I hadn't bonded with Ezra as much as I had with Emmett, most likely because I spend most of my time training with Emmett.

Life was interesting on the Eragon, but I knew that this wouldn't last, soon we would confront two sith lords, and Ezra tells me he is worried about what will happen when Emmett reunites with his old masters. I'm afraid as well, I don't want to lose him.

-----

It was two weeks until the battle of Endor, I was doing battle training with Emmett, him using a mixture of form three, and form seven. His strikes were vicious, and he never failed to block an attack. His face was masked with anger and worry, but with each time I failed to strike him his face grew angrier and angrier. Finally there was an opening he had swung wide and I moved to take the advantage.

I held his yellow saber in place using the force to slow down his attack, but he completely let go of the saber and threw his hand forward, what happened was repulsively similar to what happened when we first met, I was slammed against the wall of the training room, a phantom hand around my throat.

I heard someone banging on the door and there were a few shouts, but all attention was on my master, his voice in a low growl "we've been training nearly half a year and this is the best you can do… the republic may have been able to win, but I interfered, I made the sith stronger. You and me are the last chance to make this galaxy a better place, and you can't even land a hit on a sith apprentice." he was referring to himself, he had opened up about a lot of things, his days of being the sith weren't something he liked talking about. His yellow bladed lightsaber was recovered from a group of Jedi he had betrayed, it was their leaders saber.

"But, I nearly" was all I was able to croak out before the pressure on my throat rose, not allowing me to breath at all. "Nearly… Vader is much more powerful than I am in the force, he wouldn't have to waste an ounce of effort defeating you. Palpatine would torture you in an attempt to have you join him. We don't have time for nearly, we have a week." I was loosing consciousness and he loosened his grip. He shook his head, a look of regret planted on his face. "I- I'm sorry" he dropped me from his grip and walked from the room, an angry Ezra yelling at him before Emmett made a zipping motion in the air, Ezra's lips sealing shut.

[Emmett POV]

'WHY THE HELL DID I DO THAT?' my frustration had reached an apex, and my anger burst out in me and Shalla's last training session. I realize that my worrying is irrational, in the story it all panned out, but I felt that my role played a significant role in making the sith stronger, I had helped them take a few independent planet systems, and had strengthened their forces enough to make a slight difference.

'I feel bad for hurting her, but she needs to understand our position in this war. Even if the rebellion is able to win despite my changes they won't just let me take over either, and I have a really bad feeling about Palpatine, but I don't know why… I should give a better apology than I did earlier'

[Shalla POV]

I was laying in my bed chambers when the door opened, Emmett was on the other side, seeing that I was laying down, he closed the door, knocked, and opened it again. Walking in the room, he sat at the bottom of the bed right next to my feet, he sat on the edge of the bed, he was hunched over with his elbows on his knees. "I came to say I'm sorry" he sighed, I realize that he had been stressed. He had bags under his strangely colored eyes, his robes were wrinkled in places and several strands of his dark blonde hair were out of place, he looked handsome nevertheless.

"It's alri-" he interrupted me "no, no it's not. I can come up with excuses for my aggressiveness, but all in all, I was just being mean, I was trying to teach you like how Vader taught me, but look what it did to me." he smiled sadly. "Well, it was nice talking to you… sorry, again. Bye" he got up to leave, but I grabbed his arm. He stopped, and turned around

    "What's wro-" I kissed him.

He backed up quickly and left the room.
