Normally, this was her quality time. Aeinshia would either spend it in her room or garden or in the library. She most likely would be reading a book or jotting down some ideas, that randomly comes into her mind. Well, she enjoys spending time with herself.

Nobody visits her at this time. Those who frequently do, would be now busy with all their duties. The royals would be attending their regular morning court meetings and the servants would be preparing the royal's lunch and everything they needed for the proceeding day.She already  ordered her ladies-in waiting to not to disturb her. So who could it be???

Must be a guard or a maid, who is worried about me locking the door. She thought and shrugged it off, before proceeding to open the door.

The door opened to reveal a worried looking Shirley, who broke out in a relieved smile, when she saw the princess was completely fine. Aeinshia tilted her head cutely, not knowing the reason for the wide different expressions displayed on her main servant's face.

"Thanks the heavens, you are safe my princess. I was so worried about you.  You never lock your room usually, unless its something very serious, It really made me my heart for crazy for a minute." Shirley breathed out, after finishing her theory.

Aeinshia couldn't help but laugh. "Must be a mistake. My hand might have done it instinctively. Nothing to worry. Besides, I'm very happy so, no worries. Everything is gonna be alright for me and for you. So toss your worries outside into the window Shirley." Aeinshia laughed again after finishing her sentence and proceeded to go sit on her bed.

Now, Shirley wanted to know what made the princess this happy.

Shirley followed Aeinshia eyeing her suspiciously but, didn't speak out. She knew better than to speak something. But, she had been dying to ask, what happened.

And more over, there was something interesting going to happen in two days. So, Shirley wanted to test the waters. Aeinshia looked overly, exceptionally happy. What's got her bouncing on her toes?

"Princess, would like to have anything?" Shirley, softly asked, she was trying to get something out of her mouth. Whatever happens between the royals was always to be known. That's what traitors do. But asking them straightly will end up being a suspect. So, she need to think before speaking and talk in a roundabout manner. She need to know when the Duke will be moving for his trip. Preparations were already made, but she don't know when he will start his journey. She need to calculate the right time for the attack.

From when did this princess become this smart. Its like she changed overnight. Shirley thought to herself, but nonetheless, put a smile on her face and got ready to use her sickeningly sweet words to deceive the princess.

"I completed my chores early today!" Shirley said in high pitch, masking the venom that threatened to be spilled between her words. "Maybe I'm excited for the festival. Everyone completed the chores early and we would be on vacation from this afternoon, after the royals' lunch." She continued, with the fake excitement still heavily lingering on her tongue, which she made her cringe internally.

If it wasn't for 'loyalty' to these royals, I would have beheaded them all in one go. Shirley's thoughts were filled with anger and hatred towards them. Only she knows how.many times she internally killed herself, for acting like she is all well-wishing and worries about them.

When the truth is that she is one of the most fakest people one can find on the surface of earth. Venomous and dangerous and deceiving. This is her true color, her true face. Her loyalty is only for her master and follow her master's words.

Following her master's words, she worked her way up to gain the ultimate trust of the royals. Well, not all.She only gained the trust of Rutz people and the Almighty majesty doesn't trust her yet. That's the reason why he himself personally selected two ladies-in-waiting for Aeinshia from his most trusted subjects to attend to her needs, whenever Aeinshia stays in the palace. But nonetheless, now, the Rutz family, they almost blindly believe herW. hatever Shirley says or does, is good for Aeinshia.

'Shirley you are my best friend and sister that I never had.' Aeinshia once, said this to her.

Only God knows, how much she wanted to burst out laughing in front of her face. That was the most hilarious thing, she had ever heard in her entire life. She had to satisfy her urge to laugh with wide smile and small giggles. To her everyone are being pretentious in this Royal Family and no one can be trusted. She could only trust herself and on her potential to survive.

But, lately Aeinshia seemed to be acting differently. Very differently. Before, she used to be very close to her. She used to blindly believe her. Shirley never had to ask anything from Aeinshia, she always willingly told her everything.

When she said everything, it means literally everything.

What she liked, what she doesn't, what happened in her day. What the royals discussed. Almost every event that happened in Aeinshia's life Shirley knows it all.

But, thats not how things were working lately. Aeinshia suddenly, became closed off. She still respects and loves and believes her. But, not like earlier. Its like she sensed something is wrong with her, but thats not the case.

The most noticeable and drastic change was, Aeinshia was suddenly interested in political affairs. And she started to being close with her father. That was huge. And the worse thing, Shirley absolutely had no idea about it, until it happened.

But, the most worst thing was that, even after that happened, she had to know it from the other maids and servants, not from Aeinshia. That was the start of her weird attitude towards her. She indeed changed overnight to someone else.

At the beginning, Shirley thought that it was just a phase but, as the days are passing by the phase just isn't fading and its even becoming larger. Something definitely  happened and she was aware of it.

It feels like, something big happened to her and she changed. She is like before but, if you spend a little time with her, you would definitely notice the differences in her behavior. She isn't the child Shirley knows and Aeinshia is more and more behaving like a re lady who is well versed in politics and schemes.

Shirley is still somehow surprised, that Felix didn't pop the question about her behavior. He was the closest to Aeinshia and knew every single thing happening to his sister. He even notices, every small detail of Aeinshia.

Even if her hair fringe was even a tiny bit shorter, he would point it out immediately. If something were to change in her, Felix would have pointed it out. But, he didn't.

Of course, there is a possibility that he might have asked her in private, when she was not around. Then, Aeinshia would tell her, if anything odd was happening. Then again, Aeinshia became secretive and is not sharing anything with her.

Even if she asks about it, Aeinshia would just brush it off or change the topic. Shirley doesn't know what is happening anymore what is happening in Aeinshia's life. Major or minor, nothing is being shared with her.

And this was bringing a lot of pressure from her master to her. Her master keeps on asking her, why she can't give anymore information about the royals. When Shirley disclosed that Aeinshia, suddenly, became secretive, the reaction that came was not pleasant.

She still remembers the conversation with her master and the words clear as day in her head.

..........

(Conversation between Shirley and her master of days before)

"Do you think, something snapped and she changed? Have you lost your mind or are you becoming a fool like those royals, staying with them. I'm not here to hear your bullshit made up stories.I am not easy to buy your cock and bull stories. All I want is information. Find out. Find out what's happening." This is what her master yelled in frustation not trusting her words.

Shirley's master turned away, their back facing Shirley, who had her head down. "You know what will happen if not. You are my best partner in crime. And I hope, you will stay like that. Don't push your thoughts on to me. You can do better. I placed my trust in you, my dear. Don't make me do what I didn't intend to do. I hope you do know the consequences of deceiv.... I think there's no need to complete that knowing how much you are dedicated towards me right." The speech came in unusually sweet voice as her master patted on Shirley's shoulder, but  that didn't hide the clear aggression of the speaking person.  It was like trying  desperately, to cover the venom with honey.

"I'm yours. I won't disappoint. Accept my apology for being foolish like them. I'll find out." That's the only thing Shirley could tell for the time being. She need to stall time. Time is only thing she should be wary of at times like this. She clenced her hands tightly, allowing her nails cut through her flesh. She need to calm down. She still had many responsibilities.
