Reborn: The Unexpected Twist

Chapter 228 - Landed

"So, you're basically confirming that indeed the security around this place is strongest in South Korea. However, isn't it quite unreal to accuse me of stealing? If someone like me can steal a pair of earrings, doesn't mean that anyone is capable of stealing from here?" Jinhee vocalised whilst arching her eyebrows.

Bringing her face closer to Youngmi's, Jinhee vocalised, "I told you to be careful of what you say. See, you have landed yourself into another problem."

Many there found Jinhee's words making sense. However, Kwon Youngmi's loyal supporters kept on gossiping, and Jinhee was sure that this will be continued regardless of who is wrong.

Minji pointed her index finger towards Jinhee before voicing out, "Youngmi allowed you to be in her room. That's how you stole from her!"

"So, you're telling me that the President's daughter has absolutely no security in her room? Everyone here can see how absurd you sound," Jinhee said— her voice showing mock.

Youngmi bowed towards Jinhee and voiced out, "I am really sorry, Jinhee-ssi. I am sure Minji had misunderstood something. She surely doesn't mean to offend you or anything."

"Youngmi, you shouldn't be defending people even if they are your friends. If she claims to have not stolen your earrings, then she should surely have no problem with letting us check her," Minji pointed out.

Smiling towards Minji, Jinhee vocalised, "At this moment, if I claim that you have stolen my bracelet, do I get the chance to search through you as well?"

Noticing how irked Minji was beginning to grow, Jinhee decide to let this continue for a little longer before ending it. After all, Jinhee was having her part of fun from this.

"Yah! Why will be stealing from such a lowlife like you? Moreover, you don't have evidence that I have stolen anything from you," Minji voiced out— her voice holding arrogance.

Pulling at Minji's hand, Youngmi said, "Unnie, let's go. I'm sure the earrings must have fallen off somewhere. I don't want Jinhee to hate me for such an event."

Wearing a smile on her face and using a polite tone, Jinhee vocalised, "Be a good girl and go along with Youngmi. Can't you see how much you're embarrassing her? After all, this is her birthday."

As Minji stare towards Jinhee intensified, Jinhee questioned, "Do you have any evidence that I have stolen from Youngmi?"

Raising one of her eyebrows, Jinhee waited for an answer from Minji. It did not miss Jinhee's eyes on how Youngmi was tugging at Minji's sleeve whilst Minji clenched her fist tightly. If it wasn't for the people around them, Minji might have gone physical on her.

"Evidence!? The fact that you're the only one who was allowed into Youngmi's room is big of a proof, and Youngmi's earring was there until you have entered into the room!" Minji exclaimed loudly.

Minji's words made the whisperings increase, and after Jinhee glanced at her watch, she decided to end it all for she had to return by now.

"Minji-ssi, one question— how did Youngmi's earring look like?" Jinhee asked whilst her lips curved into a smile.

"A thief like you is asking for that? Of course, it is green in colour and has pearl attached to it!" Minji vocalised.

"Unnie, please let's go, and don't call Jinhee-ssi a thief. I know she wouldn't be doing such a thing on purpose. I am sorry, Jinhee-ssi, for all this," Youngmi vocalised— her voice showing how anxious and downhearted she was at this moment.

Jinhee began to laugh which caused for a frown to form upon Minji's face, and creases appeared between Minji's eyebrows. One could easily see how Minji did not like being laughed at like this.

"Minji-ssi, do you mind checking Youngmi's skirt properly before speaking? It seems that a piece of earring is dangling there," Jinhee vocalised. An amused expression sat on her face.

After hearing Lee Jinhee's words, almost everyone's line of sight went towards Youngmi's skirt. As the earring was small— coupled with the fact that it was green— it wasn't easily noticeable. The pearl went well with the dress, and it was easy for one to mistake it as the part of a dress.

Before anyone could react to it, Jinhee bent over, and moving closer to Youngmi, she pulled the earring from her skirt. Holding the earring in front of her eyes, Jinhee raised one of her eyebrows.

"Is what you're accusing me of?" Jinhee questioned whilst arching her eyebrows.

Then, pretending to stare at the earring, Jinhee added, "This is green, has a pearl, and looks expensive as well."

Looking at the earring, Youngmi's eyes widened for a second before they reduced back to their original size. She had a hard time believing what had just happened.

Kwon Youngmi recalled about placing the earring into her purse when Jinhee accompanied her in the closet. However, how could the earring be attached to her dress?

Disbelief showed in Minji's eyes whilst they looked upon Jinhee, and raising her finger towards Jinhee, Minji said, "You! You must have done something about it!"

Tilting her head, Jinhee stared towards Taeho and smiled at him. She then vocalised, "Taeho, it is better for us to leave. It appears that I am not welcomed here."

Taeho nodded.

Jinhee extended her hand to hold Youngmi's hand, and raising it, she placed the earring in her hand. The crowd seemed to have quieten down for they didn't have the courage to whisper about Youngmi.

Taeho wrapped his hand around Jinhee's wrist, and as he began to walk, Jinhee followed after him. A small smirk sat upon her face whilst she did so.

Realizing that both of them were leaving, Youngmi immediately ran towards the both of them, and after standing in front of Jinhee, Youngmi bowed towards her.

With her face showing how apologetic she was, Youngmi said, "I am sorry; I am really sorry about the entire thing, Jinhee-ssi. I did not mean for this to happen. I knew you wouldn't be stealing the earring, and Minji Unnie is just protective of me. I hope you can forgive us."
