Reborn: The Unexpected Twist

Chapter 288 - Out of pity

As Jinhee stood opposite to Jaehyun, she waited for Jaehyun to break the silence between the two of them. At this moment, she was clueless on what to do or how to begin the conversation between the two of them.

Jaehyun's brother, Kim Yejun, was not found dead, which came to be entirely a relief for the entire family, but only a few knew about it. The media portrayed him to be dead.

Nonetheless, Yejun's situation was really bad due to how Youngmi had treated him under her care, and seeing his state in the beginning made Jinhee shudder.

She could only imagine the amount of pain Jaehyun must have gone through after he had found his brother to be like this, and aware on how Youngmi was obsessed with him, Jaehyun blamed himself for the entire ordeal.

Kim Yejun was currently being treated by the Kim Family, and famous doctors from abroad are currently trying to bring him to consciousness. There was still a hope for him, and upon Jinhee's request, Taeho was also attempting to help Yejun as well.

In the end, this entirely depended on the fate, and at this moment, everyone could just put into their best effort.

"About everything, thank you. I know that it was you who has revealed everything," Jaehyun voiced out as he bowed towards Jinhee.

Having Kim Jaehyun to bow at her was something Jinhee considered to be awkward, and moreover, his reaction brought surprise to her.

Patting the back of her head, Jinhee said, "I thought you will be angry with how I handled things, and please don't bow."

Wearing a confused expression on his face, Jaehyun asked, "Why will I be angry?"

He then continued, "I know that without your help, it would have taken me eternity to discover this, and by then, Yejun's situation might have been worse. I don't care about what your intentions behind this was; I am truly grateful about it."

Nodding at Jaehyun, Jinhee smiled and said, "I should not be the one to be thanked though. It was Taeho, who handled the entire matter, and put in all of his matter. If it was not for him, this would not be possible."

Kim Junghyun nodded and vocalised, "I am aware of that. Although there is no way we can possibly be of benefit to Han Family, I am ready to assist them whenever they require of it."

"But I guess it is nice to see you be this happy," Jinhee said, "I have an inkling that Yejun will definitely wake up."

°°°

After she was done having the conversation with Jaehyun, Jinhee's hand held on to a glass of gr.a.p.e juice, and as she took a sip out of it, her eyes scanned through the crowd to find a sign of Jinkyung.

Lee Jinhee noticed how the crowds eyes shifted between her and a particular couple. On a closer look, Jinhee noticed that the couple was Taeho and Jinkyung.

At that moment, a small smile formed on her face, and as she took another sip out of the drink in her hand, she elegantly walked towards the couple, who were seemingly enjoying himself.

A light-hearted expression sat on Han Taeho's fcae whilst the corner of his lips to form a smile. Jinkyung, on the other hand, wore a wide grin on her face as she occasionally giggled.

After she had stood in front of them, the two of them raised their line of sight towards Jinhee, and Jinhee was ready to start the game.

Lee Jinhee could see the surprise on Jinkyung's face, and she could guess that Jinkyung had no idea that Jinhee will be here. This would just make the things better as Jinkyung might have not any prior preparation.

"Jinkyung, it is a surprise seeing you here. Who invited you?" Jinhee vocalised in a sweet tone as she raised one of her eyebrows.

With those words, an unpleasant mood settled within Jinkyung, and Jinkyung was aware that Jinhee was trying to pull her down. However, knowing her current situation, Jinkyung knew that it would not be beneficial to her to say something rude to Jinhee.

Glancing at Han Taeho, Jinhee noticed that he had no type of reaction towards her, and this indicated she could carry out things however she wanted at this moment.

This made Jinhee feel pleased about the entire things, and raising one of her eyebrows, Jinhee waited for an answer from Jinkyung.

Han Taehyun invited Jinkyung in front of Jinhee yesterday, and Jinkyung was well aware that Jinhee was trying to make her fall into a trap. However, Jinkyung had no idea on what it was.

"Brother-in-law did. Didn't you know about it, Jinhee?" Jinkyung voiced out carefully and timidly.

Shaking her head, Jinhee answered, "Oh really? I had no idea about it. I guess he felt bad for what has been occuring lately. After all, he was the only who helped me with everything."

Jinhee's words awoke lots of type of reaction upon Jinkyung's face, and Jinhee clearly noticed those before. Nonetheless, Jinkyung tried to maintain composure.

"Seeing your expression, it did not seem you knew about it. It is quite normal for this though. After all, both of us are engaged, and it is normal for this to happen.

But don't worry! Since you are innocent, your brother-in-law will not be treating you unfairly," Jinhee said, "After all, he had invited you to this party just out of pity."

Jinkyung shot Taeho a confused glance, and that action of hers did not escape Jinhee's eyes. Jinhee had an inkling that something worth anticipating for will be happening tonight.

"I will explain things to you later on," Taeho whispered into Jinkyung's ear.

"Jinkyung, enjoy the food and everything here. Your brother-in-law and I have some important matters to discuss about, so we will have to excuse ourselves. You will fine on your own, right?" Lee Jinhee arched both of her eyebrows.

Jinkyung nodded her head and said, "Yes, Jinhee. You don't need to worry about me, and thank you for inviting me out of pity, Brother-in-law."
