Reborn: The Unexpected Twist

"Grandpa, who is Sihyeon?" Jinhee asked once again, getting up from the bed and stepping towards Lee Dowon.

The shift of emotions on Dowon's face was noticeable by Jinhee, and her eyes sharpened. Her grandfather definitely knew about this Sihyeon. Now, getting him to inform about this matter was the difficult part.

"What is the birth secret you're hiding from me, grandpa?" Jinhee continued.

"Who told you about it?" Dowon asked, completely confirming her suspicion. There was something being hidden from her, and until she knows the entire truth, Jinhee wouldn't get a peace of mind.

Honestly, Jinhee answered, "I met someone today, and he said I look really similar to this Sihyeon person. So, grandpa, I want to know why I look similar to this person?"

Dowon sighed. "Since you already know the truth, I wouldn't want to hide it from you. But are you sure that you can handle the truth?"

"I want to know about it, grandpa Dowon. Mother and father was talking about murdering me the other day because of this secret, and I think it is appropriate for me to know about this."

Hearing Jinhee's words, immediate anger flashed on to Dowon's eyes, and he spoke out, "Those two are filled with greed!"

Closing the door behind him, Dowon walked towards Jinhee's bed and sat down upon it. Melancholy coloured his eyes along with nostalgia as his eyes stared down at the ground.

"You're my real granddaughter," Dowon expressed.

He continued, "Back when I was in my twenties, for a business deal, I had to go abroad to Japan for some months. At that time, I fell in love with a woman there, and we had a daughter together.

Unfortunately, Moonstone Enterprise met with a crisis after she was born, and I had to return back to South Korea. I could not take Sakura or my daughter, Sihyeon with me for I had angered many dangerous people at South Korea and didn't want to endanger their life.

After few months more than a month, I finally got those dangerous men out of my back, and that's when, I received a letter from Sakura, saying how she was tired of waiting for me and was getting married to someone else.

Hearing that, I was heartbroken and was not ready to face them. But after two years, I went to Japan and tried searching for them. No matter what I did ended up taking me to a dead end unfortunately.

However, few years later, I started receiving letters from Sihyeon, and she informed me on how Sakura passed away. After that, I went to meet her couple of times in Japan. Since she wanted to stay with her sister and her stepfather, I did not want to intervene.

Her father was a South Korean who served as a surgeon in Japan, and after he resigned from his work there, he moved back to South Korea along with his two daughters.

I occasionally met up with Sihyeon when she was back in South Korea, and couple of months later, she moved to United States for further studies.

That's where she met that sc.u.m who played with her feelings. Although that sc.u.m was engaged, he still led my Sihyeon on, and two years after she went to USA, she handed you to me.

You're just four months then, and she informed me on how she had cancer. She did not much more time to live, and she handed you over to me.

I didn't want you to be sad from having no parents, so I happily agreed when Minjoon and Jiyoung wanted to adopt you as their own child. But unfortunately, they had ulterior motives behind it."

Hearing the truth left Jinhee flabbergasted, but it did manage to answer many of her questions. No wonder her parents did not like her as much as Jinkyung and her grandfather Dowon favoured her. This is why her so-called parents said she was the true heir.
