Reborn: The Unexpected Twist

Chapter 59 - Mocking her

"Then again, we should be extra cautious when it comes to health matters. Don't be stubborn, and let's head home," Taehee said with undertones of worry being present in his tone. However, the show of concern made Jinhee feel as if Taehee was mocking her.

Seeing that Taehee was so hooked up on them returning home, Jinhee let out a large frustrated sigh and spoke out, "My stomach is not upset! Are you happy now?"

Hearing Jinhee's words, Taehee immediately burst into fits of laughter. The loud noises of her laughter resonated into Jinhee's ear, irritating her further.

This Taehee was truly infuriating!

Wiping the corner of her eyes, Taehee voiced out, "You should've looked at your expression, Jinhee!"

"Quit this, and act your age," Jinhee commented, turning the other way, with sulkiness noticeable in her tone.

"I'm sorry. I won't tease you anymore," Taehee said, wrapping her hands around Jinhee, back-hugging her— an action often done by Taehee.

Nonetheless, this was enough for Jinhee to concede at that moment, and her temper calmed down considerably.

Taehee added, "We won't ride the rollercoaster if you're uncomfortable with it."

Pulling away from the hug, Jinhee tilted in order to face Taehee and narrowed her eyes at Taehee.

"You don't need to do that. I'm alright with standing at a side whilst you ride it," Jinhee voiced out, contrary to what she truly felt.

"How can I let a beautiful girl, such as yourself, wait for me? It wouldn't be gentlema-womanly of me to do so," Taehee vocalised, pronouncing the word 'gentlema-womanly' in English.

For a moment there, Taehee's words touched Jinhee, and Jinhee was about to smile at her until she continued, "Most importantly, I don't want to look like loner."

The reason was unknown to Jinhee, but Taehee's words made Jinhee feel irked. Jinhee truly had the urge to punch the female.

Jinhee gulped.

The soundless, narrow passage began to instill fear within Jinhee, and everytime her eyes went towards the cracked, brown walls, she was in fear that something would pop out.

A smile formed on Taehee's face when 'she' felt Jinhee touch and hold her hand tightly. Jinhee's body moved closer to Taehee's, and their shoulders were touching.

'I should bring Jinhee to a horror ride often.'

Their footsteps echoed, and Jinhee's face grew ashen by each passing second. Was it too late now for her to run away?

The adrenaline caused Jinhee's heart to beat faster and her breathing rate to increase. Her eyes widened, and her senses became more active.

As Jinhee took a step forward, something popped up in front of her. Staring at the object for two seconds, Jinhee let out a shrilly scream.

"Shibal!"

Closing her eyes tightly, Jinhee immediately held the closest thing to her, which was Taehee, and hid her face in Taehee's shoulder.

Lying upside down was realistic looking corpse. With its eyes huge as saucer, it had its mouth open— a long, bloody tongue facing downwards present. The pupils moved in the orbit, and blood stained the tattered clothing of the corpse.

A growl was let out by the corpse, causing Jinhee to tremble, and she tightly clutched Taehee's t-shirt whilst praying for the corpse to leave.

Shaking Jinhee's shoulder, Taehee voiced out, "It is gone."

Relief washed over Jinhee, and pulling away from Taehee, Jinhee turned to the front. But at that very second, Jinhee noticed the bloody, claws forwarding towards her.

The shock made Jinhee give out a audible shout, and tears forming at the corner of her eyes, Jinhee jumped back abruptly causing for her to bump into Taehee. Losing their balance, both of them touched the floor.
