Reborn: The Villainess Shines

Chapter 35 - Elemental Priestess (3)

When I got out of the carriage, I looked at the beautiful building that is called the 'Temple of Light.' It was made up of crystals of different size that made the place shine with light no matter if it's night or day. There are other smaller temples that could help with magic awakings but the 'Temple of Light', is considered holy ground. There is a rumor that has been spoken since the founding of the Kingdom of Asteria, that the holy goddess blessed the grounds where the building resides today.

'Holy ground, huh? Momo is there really a goddess that comes to this world and walks among us mere mortals.' I asked while walking with my mother toward the temple.

[It's a possibility, dear host. In a world where magic is involved anything, it could happen. My boss loves to play around when it comes to the more fantasy type worlds.] Momo said.

I didn't respond but still thought the idea of meeting a goddess was interesting. "Dear, I'm not allowed to enter during the ceremony but I'll be in the back garden with the other parents." Mother said giving me a hug.

Waving her goodbye, I met up with the others my age who were waiting to be let into the temple. I was standing there for a couple of minutes when I noticed that no one was coming over to talk to me. From the memories of the original host, there is no bad blood between the other noble families and or the commoners. Taking small glances around I could only reason that they were keeping their distance because I was the crown prince's fiancee.

As I was wondering and slightly wishing that someone would talk to me so I could at least wait without being bored. Soon as I had that thought I heard a deep voice behind me, "Lady West, are you nervous for the ceremony?" The voice asked.

Turning around I was greeted by the sight of this world's male lead, the crown prince, Samuel Forwell. Dipping into a formal curtsy, "Nice to meet you, your highness. Also, to answer your question, I'm perfectly relaxed." I said with a smile.

"I'm glad you are ready, you'll probably have amazing powers just like your parents and older brothers," Samuel said. I could only let out a small laugh at the predictable image that everyone has when they think of me. Still, it made me wonder more why the original Nadia West withheld her true powers from the world. Especially when most of the world already believed that she would be powerful with the West blood flowing through her veins.

While I was enjoying a pleasant conversation with Samuel, the temple's doors opened and an elderly priest came out in white robes. "Young gentleman and ladies, it's time for the hour of light! Follow me, inside the holy temple and find out if you were blessed by the goddess with magical powers!" He yelled in excitement.

Everyone started to cheer and they happily followed the elder man inside, all with different kinds of emotions. I guessing because the war of prophecy was approaching the number of people for awaking was more than usual. It took an hour for the priest to finally get the group that Prince Samuel and myself were waiting in. So far no one has unlocked any powers that were truly impressive in the king's eyes just powers that would be good in battle.

Prince Samuel was the first to touch the 'Light Crystal', a magical item that could look deep in a person soul and read what hide underneath the skin. No one knows where the stone came from but when they appeared all around the world it takes long before religions and kingdoms used them for their own gain.

The moment when Prince Samuel's hand touched the 'Light Crystal', it shone a brilliant bright orange, then it split into a scarlet bright red, and finally a mellow yellow. It was so bright that it made many of the priests cheer in joy. From what I understand, orange is the color of leadership, it can help build a strong team. Red is the fire elemental and yellow is the power to speak to animals of any species.

Everyone surrounds Prince Samuel when he was done giving him a lot of congratulations. By the time the elder priest got everyone calm, it was my turn to give the crystal a shot. "Lady West, I wish you the best luck." Prince Samuel said giving me a smile.

I nodded my head and walked up to the steps to the 'Light Crystal' when I touched it I felt static electricity go through my body. The feeling flowed through my body and then it rushed to my hand before I could open my eyes I heard a loud gasp and then silence.

Looking at the crystal I saw a full rainbow that made the entire temple look super colorful. Releasing my hand, I turned to go down the steps but was stopped by the elderly priest who had his eyes wide open. "In all my years, I have never seen a person who had such strong magical abilities. Not only that but you also possess all the elementals. Simply wonderful!" He said holding my hand.

I wanted to tell them all that I was nothing special just blessed but I was tugged into the embrace of Prince Samuel, "I knew you would be a magical wonder, Lady West you truly are amazing." He said flashing me his princely smile.

"Thank you but I'll have a long road to go before I'll become someone who can truly earn your wonder, your highness," I said smiling which made him laugh.
