Reborn: The Villainess Shines

Chapter 37 - Elemental Priestess (5)

[Starter Mission: Show everyone at the ceremony your true potential.

Main Mission 1 (Request from target): Steal the spotlight. Become the hero of Asteria.

Main Mission 2: Uncover the reason behind the war.

Side Mission: Break the engagement with Prince Samuel Forwell.

Hidden Mission: ???]

Looking at the moon, I thought about the mission I just received. 'It seems that every time I go to a new world, the missions are either more difficult or confusing.' I thought while closing my eyes once more, figuring I'll make a plan once I'm alone.

[Dear host, I need to warn you, if you don't complete this world with a high enough success rate, then you'll be punished.] Momo said.

I wasn't surprised by hearing Momo's voice, more of it had to do with its words. 'What do you mean punished? Also, why? I completed the last two worlds and completed my missions!' I yelled in my head.

[You did complete the first mission world to 100% but not the second. My boss won't punish you for the hidden missions but he gave side missions for a reason. When you left An SuMei's world it was only 75% completed, and that is considered a failure.] Momo explained.

'Why didn't you tell me any of this before I left the second world or when I arrived in this one?' I asked trying hard not to let it show on my face and worry Nadia's mother.

[Dear host, I was not allowed to speak of such things or it'll be breaking protocol. I'm only allowed to give warnings.] Momo said in a voice that I could only be its version of a w.h.i.n.e.

Letting out a sigh, I opened my eyes, no longer feeling tired. Figuring out a game plan is way more important than some beauty sleep.' I thought sitting straight.

Lydia's PoV

Sitting in the inn, I thought about everything that happened today.

*Flashback*

"I'm so nervous, no I'm beyond nervous. I'm scared!" Emelia, a pretty brown hair, brown eyed, also my childhood friend said holding her hands.

"Don't worry, I'm sure everything we'll be fine." James, my most relaxing and carefree friend said patting Emelia on her back. "How can you be sure? What if none of us from Slain Village were blessed magic?" She asked with wide eyes.

Giggling, I held her hand, "James is right! we should worry before the ceremony begins. Who knows we all might have been blessed with amazing abilities." I told her with a smile.

James laughed and nodded his head, while Emelia, who calmed down, still looking worried. I couldn't blame her, after all, our village poured their money together to send all the children of age to the capital. Since there was only the 'Temple of Light', the closest it was the only option or risk defying a king's order. Now, the entire village is placing its hope that one out of the seven is blessed and will bring glory back home.

When the temple's doors opened and the ceremony began, I quietly waited until it was our turn. It seemed that a lot of the young gentleman and ladies were blessed with basic magic but nothing really impressive.

I noticed everyone quieted down when the crown prince made his way toward the light crystal. Everyone started to cheer when we saw the beautiful three colors light up the room. "Whoa, to be blessed with three strong abilities. Just wow!" Emelia said with breath as we watched Prince Samuel come down.

"The royal family has always had strong magic in their blood, so his results aren't really a surprise," James said looking at Emelia. Even though he said those words, I'm sure he was just as in awe like we were to see such a thing. Prince Samuel is from the royal family and they always had powerful magic, so I thought the best was over.

How wrong I was, when the West duke's daughter, Nadia West, touched the light crystal a rainbow appeared lighting the entire building. "Oh, my goddess! A rare user! I cannot believe we are witnessing the awaking of a rare ability user." James said with while eyes.

A rare user only comes around every once in a hundred years. When the crowd finally calmed down, the head priest continued the ceremony. Emelia was blessed with a light blue color, the element of air; while James had the light purple, the color of strength. I was super happy for my friends, especially since the rest of our village didn't do so well.

When it was my turn, I knew I'll be happy no matter what happens. I just couldn't believe my eyes to become a rare user wasn't something I didn't expect. For one person to have this power is a miracle, but for two it was like the goddess was blessing the kingdom of Asteria. Making my way back to my friends I was congratulated and had many praises but was still in shock.

After the ceremony, I could only walk in a daze to Lady Flora, who was our guide in the capital city. Once, Lady Flora heard the news, she insisted we leave at once back to the village. "Good news like this is not something to write in a letter." She said with a bright smile before running off to prepare for our trip in the morning.

*Flashback Ends*

Now, I just need to get some sleep before the long trip home. Laying on the bed, I still couldn't believe my luck, to be blessed at such a young age. Feeling my eyes grow heavy, 'I can't wait to attend the Royal Academy and truly see what I can do for the people of Asteria.' I thought while falling into slumber.
