Reborn: The Villainess Shines

Chapter 40 - Elemental Priestess (8)

I was walking to the rooftop, where the school keeps the medical herbs needed for students who had the healing abilities, all while ignoring the looks coming my way. I could only sigh inside about how the human mind works and the crazy ideas that popped into their brains.

Four days ago, during combat training, I was paired up with Lydia Clover. Seeing as we were the only two with the rare abilities user, it only made sense to test our skills against one another. The only problem, I was way stronger than Lydia, probably because of the generations of magic in my blood. Lydia was completely defeated, and everyone class believed I took it too far when sparing with her.

Now there are rumors going around that I took my anger out because of the close relationship that Lydia had with the crown prince. 'Even if I explained that I had no such thoughts, people would only say I'm making excuses.' I thought while turning to an empty hall.

At least I believed it was empty, it wasn't until his shadow overlapped mine did I notice Prince Samuel Lockwell coming my way. Turning to give a greeting I was cut off by a yell, "Lady West, you better leave Lydia Clover alone!" Prince Samuel yelled before I could utter a word. Looking at him with confusion, I couldn't believe his attitude toward me.

While I really did find these games enjoyable in my original world, I did always think these games had some fateful flaws. One being the royal main lead blindly believing other's word before finding the truth for himself. 'Momo, what's going on? Last I checked is that the male and female leads weren't that far in their relationship.' I asked.

[Dear host, you are correct that they haven't progressed in their relationship when you last. It changed this morning when the male lead finally realized his feelings for the female lead. During these worlds, it takes some time or an event for one of the lead to fully realize their powers.] Momo explain.

Hearing Momo's explanation I already had come to the same understanding. Still giving Prince Samuel a confused look, "Your Highness, I must say I do not understand what you're talking about." I said in a low but calm voice.

"Lady West, I always believed you were an honorable person, but to take out your anger in a sneaky way is just unforgivable." Tilting my head, "Taking out my anger? Are you talking about that silly rumor that is going around the school? Your Highness, I simply don't know how such a rumor started when I did no wrong toward Miss Lydia Clover." I told him.

Narrowing his eyes, "Rumors don't come from plain air, there are plenty of witnesses that said you used the combat class to exact revenge. If you had any problems you should have directed your anger toward me, not an innocent party like Lydia Clover." Prince Samuel said in a cold voice.

Putting on a shocked expression, I decided to use my acting skills to the test, "I'm really hurt, Your Highness." I said with slight tears in my eyes. Looking down, "As my fiance, I hoped you would have some trust in me but to see you acting like this really hurts my heart." I said with a catch in my voice.

Lifting my head up a little I could see through my lashes that some of Prince Samuel's anger starting to disappear. Walking past him I looked forward with teary eyes, "I never thought I would be saying this but maybe we should rethink our engagement."

"Lady West... I..." Prince Samuel said reaching his hand out.

Turning around and giving him a small smile, "After all, it seems that you come to have feelings for another." I said then ran away passing my brother Nate and Rick Anders. Seeing the well-mannered, and pride noble daughter crying had both of the males stopping in their tracks.

"N-Nadia!" "Lady West!?" Both males shouted.

Not stopping, I ran to the rooftop with tears in my eyes but a smile on my face. 'Only a matter of time until this villainess is freed from her shackles with the male lead.
