Reborn: The Villainess Shines

Chapter 7 - School Saint (6)

It's finally the day of the national singing competition, and everyone was in high spirits. Ryohei-san and I were taken to a hotel three days before the competition so that we could get more rehearsal time. While we were in the competition waiting room, I took the time to look at the other school's representatives. If I wasn't busy preparing I would have taken the time to enjoy the performances, as an actress I can't help but love good entertainment.

"Sunohara=san, you are awfully quiet over there. You are not nervous are you?" Ryohei-san said while sitting next to me.

I giggled and said, "Not at all. I was just enjoying listing to the others. We have our work cut out for us, don't you agree Ryohei-san." Giving him a smile.

He looked over at the other competitors and chuckled with a gleeful glint in his eyes, "I do believe we do. Even though I think that I still believe we could win this, I have heard you sing and trust that with your angel like voice it will be hard to beat."

I couldn't help but smile at him when he said that, no matter what he did in the past I could truly see that he changed. Just before I could respond to him I was interrupted by someone coming up to us.

"Onee-sama, I'm so glad I got to see you before you performed," Yui said while giving me a strained smile.

'Oh, little sister you are a very good actress,' I thought while giving her a warm smile. You see I knew exactly why my sister was so upset. Just as Momo told me I was fated to be kidnapped before the day of the competition so that the school would replace me, but I changed the plan.

*Flashback*

It was on the day when Ryohei-san and myself were checking into the hotel with our school guardian. I got a call from Yui saying that she wanted to meet and apologize for what happened at the hotel with our parents because I refuse to speak to her at school. Of course, I agreed to be the kind older sister who understands her younger sister.

I was waiting for her near a small cafe that was located close to the hotel when four guys came up to me, "Well, look who's here?" One of the guys with black hair and a pierced ear said.

I looked up at the guys and gave them a wry smile fully knowing what they are planning. "Young miss, you shouldn't be here by yourself. Someone as pretty as you should have a guy near her at all times." A guy with red streaks in his hair said with an evil glint in his eye.

I took a step back and gave them a shaky answer, "I'm just waiting for my sister, please excuse me." I said that while trying to walk away.

That was when one of the guys grabbed my hand and pulled me back toward the group, "Holl up young miss, you should really come with us."

I tried pulling my hand out of his grasp but he held a tight grip on it, I then gave them a teary eye smile. "I really don't want any trouble, I just want to meet my sister and be on my way," I said while trying to pull my hand away one last time.

The guys just started to laugh as they watched me struggle, "Sorry, I think you are a sweet girl but you are coming with us if you want to or not."

That was when the guy who was holding me was pulling me into the nearest ally away from the safety of the public eye. I turned around and was about to scream until I noticed another guy pull out a small knife.

"I can see what you're about to try and that wouldn't be a good idea. Just be a good girl and come with us and then you can leave safe and sound in a couple of days."

I couldn't believe what I was hearing. 'Threaten a girl and you honestly expect her to just behave and do as you wish. Please!' I thought while hoping the plan I put into action goes off without a hitch.

Just as the group was surrounding me so no one would see them taking a girl, I saw the one figure who could save me. President Kei as the student council president was allowed to come with us to the hotel to help assist our school guardian with the preparation for the competition. Just before I went out to meet up with Yui, I left a note under President Kei's door telling him that if something strange happens to me then be sure to ask Yui about the situation. Knowing about all the things Yui has done to me while we were on school grounds, I was putting my hopes in him that he would check up on me at the location I put in my note.

At first, he was looking around and then he met eye contact with me, at that moment I thanked the god President Kei was a good person. He didn't hesitate when he came running up to the group to confront them, "Let her go! NOW!"

The guys looked at each other and burst out laughing, "Or what? Look around you boy and know that you are in a losing battle," the guy with blonde hair said.

President Kei gave a deadly glare, "I won't ask again, let her go or I'll make you wish you never met me," he said while giving them the coldest glares I ever saw.

It looked like the guys were going to say something again but didn't get the chance to when President Kei was on them. I was pushed out of the way and could only look in wonder as he easily defeated the group and was standing over their now unconscious bodies.

I didn't have much time to gawk at the scene when I was grabbed by the hand and running out with President Kei. We went all the way back to the hotel, never looking back to see if the group of guys was following us.

When we were in the lobby, knowing we were safe President Kei finally looked at me with a hard stare. "What were you thinking?" I looked at him with a confused shock, "What do you mean?"

"You were almost taken! Why did you go there by yourself?" He asked while getting angry as he glared at me.

"I was meeting my sister, I thought she would be there because she asked me to meet up. I couldn't have expected a group of guys to come at me," I said with a sigh."

President Kei had a strange look in his eyes when I brought up the mention of my sister, that's when I continued to ask him, "President Kei, thank you for saving me. I don't know what would have happened if you didn't come in time."

"Kei," he said. "What?" I asked in confusion. "Call me Kei, after all the weird situation we keep meeting under, I fell that you can call me by my first name or without a title." He said while going to one of the lobby sofas.

I followed him and continue to talk, "Okay, I'll call you Kei from this day forward. I'm going to leave and contact my sister if something like this happened to me it's possible it could have happened to her.

Just before I could take my leave Kei stopped me, "Wait! I think that the whole situation was weird."

I gave a slight smile before looking back at him confused, "What do you mean?" I asked him as I sat on the sofa across from him.

He sighed and looked at me, "You said you were meeting your sister, and I think you felt some panic as well or you wouldn't have left a not for me to check up on you. I find it weird that you were almost kidnapped just before the competition."

"You can't be telling that you think Yui had something to do with the event just now, could you?" I asked even though I knew his answer.

He stood up and said, "That's exactly what I mean and if I find out that it's true then trust me when I tell you Yui will be gone from Hazuki Academy. Having someone so cruel to commit a crime against other students just won't do while I'm around."

After he said his piece he grabbed his phone and walked off, leaving me just staring with a slight smile.

******

I sat there listening to my sister go on and on about the competition, also while she apologizing for not being able to meet up that day.

I could only give her a sweet smile, 'Yui, you might be a good actress but I'm better. I can't wait for the climax of our performance,' I thought while telling her that she was already forgiven.

Just a couple more hours before I can get this singing competition done and really enjoy a great performance.
