Redeeming The Sins Of Xu Rouguang [BL]

Chapter 21 - Nowhere to be Found

Immortals.

They were the retainers of the gods that had been brought to the heavens along with their masters and men. These immortals were placed on a pedestal above other creations while being glittered with purity, benevolence, and magnanimity. Their words had become absolute as their images had gone worshipped by many.

However, these things were only exhibited purely by only a part of their population. Most immortals had not lived their lives away from their vices. Some had not given up on greed, l.u.s.t, and even wrath. General Xu Rouguang of the First Battalion was not an exception to this. He might not be filled with greed and l.u.s.t, but his rage and indifference had painted a weird picture of this beautiful yet insane headhunting immortal.

Repulsion.

Xu Rouguang's eyes widened as he entered the dark room with such drowning lights. The music was loud and offensive to what he found comfortable. Even the flashing images of the dancing people and activities in the tables were churning his stomach. The disgust oozed all over his system—so much that he almost wanted to start killing everything that moved.

Lai Mingjie wasn't surprised by this reaction: wide eyes, pursed lips, twitching face muscles. In fact, he was looking forward to seeing this. He only laughed out and pulled on Xu Rouguang as he led him to a corner where men were standing guard. Xu Rouguang ended up closing his eyes and raising his arm to fend off anyone who would even dare speak to him.

When Lai Mingjie said they would be talking to someone who could him, he was elated. Seeing this place had plummeted his mood to the floor. His boss had mentioned that they were creatures of the dark, the vile, and the awful. He should've expected this kind of repulsive image.

However, never would he ever tie Lai Mingjie to these people.

"Ah, Emodao! Why are you taking a human here? But no matter, he looks so deli—!" A demon service girl spotted the duo walking and decided to talk before offering them free drinks. However, even before she could unleash her charm, a hand flew to her face and pushed her away from them. She staggered back and yelled at the supposed-delicious human. "Hey! Who do you think you are?! Don't you believe I can't eat you?!"

"You can try." Xu Rouguang hissed as he sent daggers to the woman. His cold, piercing eyes made her shudder as his cold voice stung her feet; she just had to step back some more.

"Wha-whaaa! An immortal!" The demon girl yelled as she didn't dare forget how those immortals' loathing gazes felt. She then pointed at their direction. "Emodao! That's an immortal!"

The club was booming with music, and only a few managed to hear the service girl. Their eyes glowed in the dark, and their teeth began to b.a.r.e in a warning. Some had even broken wine bottles to arm themselves.

Lai Mingjie only looked around. He shot a gaze at Xu Rouguang who wasn't even bothered at all. The general's eyes had gone straight ahead while remaining steadfast. The timid man was nowhere to be found as the general had taken his place. Xu Rouguang might not give off the bodily aura of an immortal general at the moment, but the feel of his gaze was enough to warn the demons around him.

After hearing the service girl, one of the guards standing next to the door where Lai Mingjie and Xu Rouguang were headed blocked them. The demon king raised his hands with a malicious grin on his face. He didn't say anything, but Xu Rouguang only stopped in front of the guard.

"Don't talk. Step aside." Xu Rouguang didn't even look up at the tall guard; he kept his eye level straight. He even had the audacity to talk him down before the guard could utter a word. "I will spill your guts."

"Hey, you think you immortals could just walk in here and—!" The guard was quick to react in rage. He dared to grab Xu Rouguang's shoulder, but the immortal only raised his arm as if blocking. However, his movement had already converged earth essence and pushed away the poor demon meters away from his spot. The guard tumbled, but the immortal only looked at the other guard who glared at Lai Mingjie in return.

"Sorry, I just want to see how he would deal with you guys." Lai Mingjie only shrugged. Ha! Would he even care about these guys? Weren't they the ones who would bully him now that he had a weak body? Then again, he didn't ask for Xu Rouguang to flip out like this.

"Emodao! You!" The guard couldn't hurt the immortal so he opted to hit Lai Mingjie instead. However, before he could even lift an arm, he was sent flying by another gust of wind. Needless to say, Xu Rouguang acted way before the other guard would as well.

Of course, this kind of scene was enough to attract everyone's attention. Some only looked and watched from the sides while others had raged on and went to confront the immortal that had managed to sneak inside their territory. Lai Mingjie only laughed out and pushed open the door that was before them. Xu Rouguang only stopped walking and looked over his shoulder. Way far from the Xu Rouguang out in the streets, this general was in the mood to take out his disgust on these demons who had forgotten their places.

Even though it was him, the general, who had forgotten his.

Without any fancy movement, winds converged around him and blasted the angry mob away, sending them all meters away. The dancers and the ones making out in the dark were all disturbed. However, they dared not to join. For a single general to come and bully them in their turf? It was either that he was an arrogant load of bull or one that could bring them down. Also, seeing that Emodao—that proud demon king—was letting him rage on, it only meant that they had business in the place.

For the longest time, the demons had to endure the overbearing immortals and demon kings. They were used to being suppressed, and so they could only ask for someone to take care of the problem. Just like how the earlier generations had taken care of Emodao... simply entrusting his death to the hand of a certain general. They would all think of that without knowing the immortal before them.

Lai Mingjie was only laughing out as all those who belittled him in this lifetime were flying off like insects without Xu Rouguang even raising a hand. Such was always a fun scene to watch. At first, he would like the immortal general to be the one eating dust; but witnessing this was okay as well. Unknown to him, Xu Rouguang was already giving him confused gazes. Was this really fun? They were only annoying.

"EMODAO!"

A voice thundered through the hallway where Lai Mingjie was. Since the door was open, even the poor demons outside could hear it. They all knew whose voice it was. Hearing her voice made them back off... if not prostrate to ask for mercy.

Heels clicked against the floor loudly, and a woman with long flowing hair emerged from the hall. She was surrounded by four men who wore suits with the four colors of the seasons. Her hair then raised as if she was underwater before she glared at the powerless demon king blocking the door.

"How dare you take an immortal to my club?!"
