Redeeming The Sins Of Xu Rouguang [BL]

Chapter 82 - This Time, You Die

The primal demons...

When the gods first made contact with the humans, some of them found attraction towards the beauties of a small village in the plains. As they first created the children of the gods, a bed of flowers had bear witness to such contamination of their blood. Seen as omens of destruction, the first children of the gods were prosecuted and hunted down.

Due to the violence they lived through, they turned into dark entities that carried the power of the gods. They were the primal demons, ancestors of all the demonkind.

It had been long rumored that the Abyss served as the prison of the primal demons. Now, the news of a primal demon breaking out of the Abyss proliferated. However, due to the lack of physical evidence of its return, no one believed in it.

Right now, Emodao was hearing from his most-trusted men that a primal demon had broken out of the barn house more than a year ago, jiving with the circ.u.mstances regarding Xu Rouguang's escape. Then again, Xu Rouguang wasn't a demon to begin with. He couldn't be that primal demon.

Only one thing crossed Emodao's mind: they were all mistaken.

A primal demon did not break out from the Abyss. Perhaps they were frightened by Xu Rouguang's massive brutality and bloodl.u.s.t that they mistook him for a primal demon. Since none of the demons knew that Xu Rouguang was sent to the Abyss, it was plausible that they thought wrong. Without strong evidence that a primal demon had indeed broken out, Emodao would keep on thinking they were mistaken.

In exchange for what they knew, Emodao recounted his version. He didn't even skip the part that Nuwa asked him to fix Xu Rouguang personally... after sending Brother Blue away with a simple palm strike. Moreover, he also relayed Botangca's findings to the two. It was as if he bared everything for them to know.

However, what crushed Emodao's heart was that they were aware of the abyssal flowers. They couldn't stress enough how much those flowers meant that someone from the deepest prisons of the Abyss had gotten out. Those flowers were the remnants of the Abyss' eyes, comparable to the flowers born from the presence of Nuwa. With those flowers plaguing multiple parts of the world, it only meant that the Abyss was looking for its prisoner... and that it was viable that it breathed power into the demons in order to seek that prisoner.

Then again, why would Dunzhao and the others care about the problems of the Abyss? They only wanted to crush the heavens and the immortals. If that primal demon rose to claim power after they bring down heaven, they would kill that primal demon, too.

A primal demon...

Xu Rouguang was a primal demon?

Emodao sat back at where he was, deep in thought. It was all too confusing. If Xu Rouguang was a primal demon, then why would Nuwa let him live? Why would she aid him in seeking the memories that he lost upon breaking out of the Abyss? If he was a primal demon, then how could he wield the power of the divine and still stand as an immortal in the eyes of the Imperial Army?

His hands covered his face.

If Xu Rouguang was a primal demon, he must be killed. If he must be killed, how could he—a powerless demon king of old—protect the person he loved?

"This can't be right." Emodao shook his head. He was a demon, and he didn't like thinking. At times like this, he sought the arms and warmth of his lover. He was scared... as this helplessness continued to grow inside him.

Bingxing and Lanyan only looked at each other, neither knew what to say. The woman only walked off of her seat and went to embrace the confused demon king. She whispered to his ears, "Emodao, just come with us. There's no point in staying by General Xu's side. If the heaven caught wind of this, then they might hunt him down. If that happens, you will get involved. You might even die..."

Emodao's ears perked. He slowly dropped his hands and revealed that cold smile on his enraged face. "Right... you're right..." He then chuckled. "I... don't die. I never die before my time." Emodao got up and laughed out. "I won't die! I'm immortal before I reach thirty! If he gets in trouble, I'll stand as meat shield if I had to!"

He then hugged his body as the rage and excitement took a toll on his very brittle body. "Hahaha, I still have a lot of time to find Xu Rouguang's memories and fulfill promises!" Emodao then sighed and looked at the two. "Are you two willing to help me with some things?"

They exchanged gazes, smiles bracing their lips as they had a glimpse of the real Emodao. The two then genuflected in front of him. "Command us!"

Emodao stared at them for a short while before speaking, "Gather the location of the Order of Blood. I wanna know if they were the ones who summoned Xu Rouguang from the Abyss. Also, try to find out how they summon demons from the Abyss. See me again at the end of the week for any updates."

Instead of being answered with respect, Lanyan and Bingxing only gazed at each other again. Sensing Emodao's impatience, they both lifted their heads; and Lanyan chuckled. "The Order of Blood? That's the cult following of Wenrou. It was her that spread the news that you will soon rise from the Abyss and bring heaven down to its knees. We could look for her children, or we could just take her to you."

Emodao held onto his head. Just as he thought he was spared from the headache, this happened. He only waved his hand to dismiss them without saying anything to answer. It meant it would be their choice which one to do. For now, they should just stick to what he wanted. Emodao wasn't one to order around and micro-manage anyway.

With a flash of light, Lai Mingjie was transported back to the Crimson City. He was left standing in the highest peak of JT. He suddenly latched at anything he could hold as the winds blew on him harshly. It was only three in the morning, but there were bright lights almost everywhere. His eyes widened as he watched countless balls of lights fly around. His grip on the metal tightened as he continued looking on the entire scene.

The direction towards the barn house was on fire! A large fire was eating that side of the city, and a barrage of fire trucks raced to kill the fire. The barn house was in an abandoned property surrounded by bushy undergrowth that was once patches for growing wheat. For a fire like that to spread, it should be burning for hours.

Either that, or a huge fight just broke out.

Using his enhanced vision, Lai Mingjie tried to see what was happening. He didn't need to worry about the darkness since the fire was so big it could illuminate most of the city. He could see the people peering out of their windows to see the raging flame. However, unlike Lai Mingjie, they couldn't see the immortals engaging in battle.

Lai Mingjie couldn't see Xu Rouguang from the fray, but he could his massive aura washing over the city... along with that of Dunzhao who had returned. The demon king had no choice but to stay at the tower to keep surveying the battle. However, his grip almost slipped when his heart skipped a few beats in terror.

A very strong killing aura covered the entire city as a loud scream echoed all over the place: "Gaze upon your champion! Bathe in the same blood that he bleeds! Xu Rouguang, this time, you die!"
