Reincarnated As God

Chapter 54 - The Control Room

Meng Li simply nodded when he heard Ye Jian's answer. It was a good decision. With his curiosity satiated, Meng Li prepared to leave, but had another thought.

"Your parents are about to emerge. So, how do you intend to handle the matter?" Meng Li asked.

"Sigh... I'm not sure. I would prefer to talk to them alone, though, if that's okay." Ye Jian asked Meng Li. This was a matter between him and his parents, and Meng Li had no right to interfere. He naturally nodded in response. With that, their conversation was over. Meng Li returned to his room, which was left a mess from the matter which occurred the day before.

With a small smile, Meng Li quickly cleaned up the room and sat on the bed in a lotus position, and started cultivating. He still had to amass soul power to break through into the Origin Core Realm, or at least his equivalent of the Origin Core. Thus, he couldn't ignore cultivation, or when the time came, he would delay Ye Jian. Well, he still could hide in the control room, but it would be nice to be able to do so immediately, without lying.

And so, time passed. Meng Li, in his cultivation, had no sense of time, but outside of the inn, the sun rose and fell, with the moon continuing after, locked in an endless cycle of chasing one another. The servants in the inn were steadily growing more confused as the four people who rented rooms continued to stay within without emerging, even for eating. Life went on.

After a few days, Meng Li was woken up from cultivation by Ye Jian, who knocked on the door a few times and entered before Meng Li even had the time to respond. It was remarkably similar to how Meng Li entered his room a few days before...

Meng Li wasn't annoyed, and simply looked at Ye Jian questioningly. Ye Jian responded simply.

"Let's go." Ye Jian said and turned to leave. Meng Li stood up, shook the nonexistent dust off of his robes by a force of habit, looked fl.u.s.tered for a second, quickly gathered his bearing and left with Ye Jian.

Meng Li wanted to ask what Ye Jian arranged for his parents since they weren't with them, but he didn't ask for now. Ye Jian calmly led him out of the city, and walked into the forest.

Although Meng Li was confused, he still followed after him. They walked quickly, and the scenery was changing fast around them. Soon, Ye Jian entered a tiny valley, hidden within the mountains. The valley was encased in a strong barrier - it was the formation disc which Meng Li had summoned for Ye Jian. Upon entering, Meng Li realised that within the valley was a small wooden house. It was small, but cozy, and Meng Li could feel two auras within the house. They were Ye Jin and Xie Ja!

However, those auras seemed to be in slumber, so Meng Li was confused as to what they were doing. He sent a questioning glance at Ye Jian, who now turned around to face him.

"Brother Meng, this is the small house I made for my parents and this valley is extremely well hidden. Now, I would set up some small formations, but I don't have any supplies beyond that disc you gave me... Could you?..." Ye Jian asked Meng Li with an embarrassed smile. Meng Li laughed in response.

"Brother Ye, this sort of small matter isn't a problem." Meng Li answered and dove into his summoning tab to find formations. In the end, he chose several formations at the Qi Foundation level, and handed to Ye Jian to set up. Ye Jian was surprised at first by the level of formations, but it was only because the current world wouldn't have many formations at this level. With his knowledge, he was able to perfectly arrange the formation flags in the valley.

In the end, the formations he set up had the effects of hiding the valley even further by disorientating intruders, an illusion formation if anyone were to find the valley after all, a strong barrier which protected the house itself, as well as an attack formation to retaliate and kill the intruder if they came too close and found out something about the valley.

Ye Jian also used several drops of his parents' blood to make the formations recognize them, and then left the control methods in the room. From him, Meng Li learned that his parents had already bid farewell with him, and were solidifying their cultivation base - that was why they seemed to be in slumber.

With all that done, they departed from the valley. This time, they were far faster, and stopped a few dozen kilometres away, in the wild, to talk a bit about their current plans.

"So, since we want to create a sect, we need those three things you mentioned... We already have one, the teachings." Meng Li begun talking while Ye Jian seemed to be in thoughts. "But there is still one thing left - how the sect will handle teaching. There needs to be some kind of system to restrict the more profound arts to disciples who have merit." Meng Li continued. Ye Jian listened in, still deep in thought.

"I'm thinking to make a small, but elite sect, where everyone who's accepted is a genius. They will enter and immediately choose a teacher - or a teacher will chose them." Meng Li continued, but could see a small frown appearing on Ye Jian's face.

"With only elite disciples, we won't be a truly respected sect... I agree, we should keep it small, but not that small." Ye Jian said. It made sense, and since Ye Jian was the brains of the operation, Meng Li had to agree.

"Let's divide the sect into two layers - the outer disciples, and the inner disciples. When the outer disciples pass an exam, they become inner disciples, and then, a master chooses them. The master will be someone of a high cultivation. We should keep the sect small, with only a few thousand outer disciples and maybe about a hundred inner disciples. Then, the hierarchy of the inner disciples is decided by strength, not their masters." Meng Li proposed. "There would be a friendly competition between disciples to rank higher on a ranking... Maybe a top ten?"

Ye Jian seemed to agree, and nodded slowly.

"But apart from the main sect, we should create branches which disciples can join. Those can either focus on alchemy, formations, forging, or other things. Those branches will function similarly to the main sect, except the outer and inner disciples aren't based on cultivation, but their comprehension in that specific subject." Meng Li fantasised.

"If we want to create branches, the sect will have to be much bigger than you say, at least tens of thousands of outer disciples and maybe thousands of inner disciples." Ye Jian added.

"That's not a problem, the sect can be big too." Meng Li had already forgotten his first vision, and was now enraptured by the idea he currently had. Ye Jian looked at him with some amus.e.m.e.nt, but sunk into thought soon after.

"Hmmm... The second thing is manuals and techniques, and this can be settled on the spot by me." Meng Li stated matter o factly. Ye Jian could only nod in agreement, as he knew that what Meng Li said was, in fact, true.

"So, now we only lack disciples." Meng Li came to the simple, but harsh, conclusion.

"Yep." Ye Jian replied.

"And how do we find disciples?"

"Don't know."

This was the harsh truth of the matter - although Ye Jian had some experience, they both didn't know exactly what to do. Ye Jian was constantly in deep thought, trying to think of a way to solve their problems.

Meng Li fell silent for a long time. Hours passed, with them both sitting still, thinking. After those hours, Meng Li finally moved, and spoke.

"The easiest way to get disciples is to make them come to us." he said. "And we can do that if we announce we are taking disciples." he continued. "But people will only come if we're famous!" he ended.

"Yes." Ye Jian replied.

"Sigh... It seems like we have no choice but to just cultivate." Meng Li concluded and Ye Jian nodded with a bitter smile.

Meng Li suddenly had an idea.

[Yes, but that is only due to the Heavenly Pass you have granted him.] the system replied.

Meng Li had an idea about the thing, but he had to make sure.

[Yes.]

"Brother Ye, I have good news." Meng Li spoke out.

"Hmm?" Ye Jian opened his eyes, distracted from his thoughts.

"When my master left this.. Uhhh... world, to me, he also left another dimension, which is at a different speed than this world. It's a small room, and I can accelerate the time within practically to the point of stopping this world." Meng Li explained. He hid the fact that it did stop the world not to scare Ye Jian too much - it was something even he guessed was unprecedented.

"Alright... Can you take me there then?" Ye Jian asked after a minute. Meng Li nodded slightly. With that, he stood up and walked towards Ye Jian, grasping his shoulder. Then, he teleported into the control room.

The white room was as white as he remembered, all while staying completely clean. The small bed was like he remembered it too - small, but comfortable. Ye Jian took a few seconds to look at the room, before turning to Meng Li.

"Is there a separate room? No offence but I would prefer to cultivate alone." Ye Jian asked. Meng Li had to ask the system.

[Yes.] the system directed him to the long unused 'Land Modification' tab. To his surprise, inside was a small option to edit the control room. Now, with his Spiritual Sense, Meng Li found that he could control the tabs far more directly, so he started shaping the control room to his liking.

After a few minutes, he ended up with a small, but tidy house. It actually wasn't completely white anymore, and had a floor you could see. There were still no windows, and the light was coming from an unidentifiable source, but apart from that, it was normal. Meng Li created three rooms - two bedrooms, and a small room with a table and two chair.

Ye Jian took in the changes around him surprisingly well, and without saying a word, chose one of the rooms and entered. Before closing the door, however, he bid Meng Li farewell. It was quite fitting to do so, since they wouldn't meet for a... Long time.

Meng Li quickly returned the farewell before Ye Jian closed, and promptly entered his own room.

They were practically identical, with a small bed and a mat on the floor.
