Reincarnated As God

Chapter 56 - Origin Core!

However, despite needing to do so rather quickly, Meng Li was faced with a dillema. Normally, when someone was breaking into the Origin Core stage, they would refine the liquified pillar which was in their lower Dantian, and formed a core from the liquid after refining it. However, in Meng Li's case, he refined all three of his vital energies - his soul power, Qi, and vitality. Thus, the next step wasn't so obvious.

He could go the tried and true route of forming a single core in his lower Dantian, but that would require mixing the three energies together, which, although didn't repel each other, simply didn't mix. Thus, it would be a perilous process, and one Meng Li wasn't too sure of.

On top of that, he was no longer traversing the old path of cultivation, and inevitably, trying to do the same thing with vastly different circ.u.mstances wasn't a good idea.

Meng Li naturally had an idea of his own, but it was a bit far fetched, even for him. He thought of forming three different cores in the three Dantians. Forming the core from Qi in his lower Dantian was something he was sure of. However, the two other cores were different.

The core he thought of forming from Vitality complicated matters quite a bit since he wasn't sure whether his body actually could draw vitality from the core to actually survive... It would truly be laughable if he were to die because he didn't have vitality simply because he formed a core.

The most troubling thing, however, was the soul power core - after all, the soul power normally resided within, well, the soul. Forming a core could possibly cause complications with his soul, and Meng Li was not at all fit to handle such issues. Thus, he couldn't help but hesitate.

The three powers, which had turned into liquid within his Dantians continued to gently rock and wave, but Meng Li saw some signs of them solidifying. If he were to wait any longer, they would turn solid before he had formed the cores, and he would fail. Well, at least the Qi would - he was not sure what would happen to his soul power and vitality.

While looking at the three pools in his body, Meng Li made the decision. He was breaking through, after all - he couldn't hesitate, or he would fail. If he was wrong, then he would simply fix the mistake he made!

Meng Li's eyes turned resolute, and he quickly begun creating the cores.

He started with creating the Qi core in his lower Dantian, as the method of doing so was tried and true by many ancestors who came and went before him. Thus, he was sure of how to proceed.

Within a few minutes, the core was complete. It was a small, white marble, practically negligible within the huge space in his Dantian, but the power it emanated was incomparable to the pillar that stood there before, even though the pillar contained three of his powers.

Meng Li wanted to appreciate the core for a bit more, but he still had to form the other too. Thus, he hurriedly turned towards his middle Dantian.

Within it, there floated a giant pool of thick, green liquid. To Meng Li, it looked just like nuclear slime so often depicted by the popular media on earth, but it didn't have any dangerous aura, and instead emanated an aura of lifeforce and peacefulness. When looking upon the vast green sea, Meng Li felt like he was standing before a giant, ancient tree - vast lifeforce which seemed unkillable despite all odds, and a peaceful presence...

Even witnessing the sight made Meng Li's soul peaceful. However, as he was in a hurry, he had no time to appreciate the sight.

Without waiting, Meng Li begun moving the vast green sea. As it has already started the process of solidification, the sea actually emitted sounds of breaking as he moved it, with what seemed like chunks of green crystal flowing within. With a bit of effort, Meng Li managed to once again liquify the crystals, but if he waited for more, doing so would progressively become harder and harder, to the point where Meng Li wouldn't be able to do so. Thus, he needed to hurry.

With great care. Meng Li controlled the green sea to turn into a huge sphere in the Dantian.

The process of creating a core was quite simple in theory, but hard to do. The cultivator would gather the liquified Qi within their Dantian and create a huge sphere with it, before starting to spin it. The spinning of the core was what amplified its' power, and the faster the core spun, the quicker the cultivator would be able to absorb or release Qi.

Within a few seconds, the huge green sea has reached an incredibly fast speed, and even Meng Li had some trouble keeping it all together. In fact, creating the core was the second hurdle of variable height which awaited cultivators - the faster the core spun, the better it was, but the harder it was to create. Thus, cultivators had to find the highest speed they could manage and keep the core at that speed, before finalizing it.

Frankly, while he was creating the cores, Meng Li didn't much care for what speed the core reached - he simply tried to achieve the highest speed he could without really comparing himself with other people. He had no time to lose, so why should he care how he compares to others?

Creating the vitality core turned out to be even easier than forming the Qi core, and to Meng Li's delight, the vitality he absorbed with his middle Dantian was assimilated into the core, and the core also released small wisps of vitality which sustained the function of his body.

With the second core done, Meng Li moved over to the final Dantian of his. The upper Dantian was located between the eyebrows of a person, and thus, it was extremely important - it was extremely frail too, and practically impossible to destroy without destroying a person's brain too. However, even if someone managed to destroy a person's upper Dantian, it would be no different from killing them, as their soul would be forced out of their body. Before reaching the Nascent Soul Realm, this was no different from a death sentence!

The situation in Meng Li's upper Dantian was truly strange. His soul wasn't the one thing in the centre - in fact, in the centre of the huge space in the Dantian was a true sea, simply floating there, with small waves rippling across the surface.

In fact, this was the power which most resembled a sea from the three - Qi was naturally transparent, and simply had a white l.u.s.tre when concentrated, so a sea of it looked like a white phantom, but soul power naturally had a blue tint. Thus, such a huge amount of it was deep blue, and it truly resembled a sea.

Even in his rush, Meng Li stopped for a few seconds to admire the sight, but he quickly snapped out of it and started the process of forming the core.

The huge blue sea slowly rose from the middle of the space and slowly turned into a sphere. Then, it started rotating - at first slowly, acc.u.mulating momentum, before finally spinning at an incredible rate. The speed it spun at was Meng Li's limit - if he were to try and accelerate it any further, he would lose control over it. Thus, he started compressing it.

The compression process was difficult too, and required strict control. Fortunately, as the core progressively got smaller and smaller, the centrifugal force grew weaker too, and the cultivator could dedicate more control to compress the core. During the whole process, it was hard to further accelerate or slow down the core, so the first acceleration was incredibly important.

With a huge amount of effort, Meng Li was finally able to fuse the final core. Oddly enough, the soul power core was the hardest one to create, even though when he created it, he didn't have any other matters distracting him.

However, Meng Li didn't think about the matter any further, as it was now the most important moment.

Meng Li now had to try and make his soul absorb the soul power core - Meng Li made up his mind to call it the soul core.

Meng Li slowly controlled the soul core to approach his soul, which was sitting in a lotus position in the middle of his upper Dantian. He was quite worried - even his soul had a small frown on its' face.

He watched the small blue marble approaching the translucent figure in his upper Dantian with such concentration that he actually forgot to breathe... Fortunately, with his cultivation, he could take a single breath every month and would be able to survive, so it wasn't a problem. But it still was a testament to how nervous Meng Li was.

The moment the small blue marble touched the translucent figure of Meng Li, a strange ripple was emitted from the figure. Instantly, the small blue marble was absorbed within, and the figure turned practically corporeal, a true copy of Meng Li. In the next moment, Meng Li's soul opened its' eyes.

Meng Li's consciousness, which previously only felt a simple connection to the soul, now felt... Different. Meng Li could only compare it to how he felt when he used Spiritual Sense to see his surroundings - although he could see himself, he still knew that the person he saw... Was him.

This was the same thing which happened with his soul. Previously, the soul remained practically dormant - although he could see it, he couldn't control it. However, now, with the small blue marble within it, his soul felt like a second body.

Meng Li had a strange look on his face as he felt the changes. From the description of cultivation in the booklet he received, such a sensation should only be possible at the Nascent Soul stage... In that realm, the Origin Core was shattered and the Nascent Soul emerged, and merged with the soul. During this realm, the cultivator could control their soul and leave the body behind... Meng Li had a hunch that if he tried to, he would be able to do the same now.

Impulsively, Meng Li controlled his soul to do exactly that. In a split second, the blue figure emerged from between his eyebrows, emerging into the outside world. The moment Meng Li's soul emerged, his body slumped over, without Meng Li controlling it.

After all, it wasn't possible to have a connection with a body after leaving with the soul. However, Meng Li didn't even notice his body's condition, as he was amazed at the new sensation. In this state, where he was merely a soul, he was able to pass through obstructions by merely spending some energy... It felt amazing, like... Meng Li actually couldn't come up with a comparison.

After a few seconds, Meng Li quickly dashed into the floor in soul form, but unfortunately for him, the floor actually bounced him away easily. Despite the fact that the soul couldn't feel pain, Meng Li felt some discomfort since the shape of his soul was a bit distorted from the collision...

Within a few seconds, Meng Li's soul was once again in perfect shape. After all, as a soul, a simple collision wasn't enough to damage it greatly.

Meng Li wanted to investigate further, but after thinking for a second, he knew what happened. Although in soul form, he could travel through solid objects, there were probably some objects he couldn't travel through... And the walls of the control room were very likely such treasures.

After the realisation, Meng Li thought for a bit before returning to his body. Although the sensation of travelling the world unimpeded as a soul was extremely enjoyable, he knew that leaving his body for a long time would have detrimental effects on both his soul and his body. Thus, it would be wise not to use it too often.

When he returned to his body and was preparing to leave the room, Meng Li suddenly received a message from the system without asking anything, which greatly startled him. If the system actually notified him of something without him asking, it had to be of extremely great importance.

[To inform you, people in the world can from now break through to the Origin Core Realm. The orders master left behind wrongly recognized your cultivation as Nascent Soul, and as such, the seal allows for cultivators to break through to Origin Core now.]

Meng Li was stunned by the information, but he quickly regained his wits. So what if other people could break through to the Origin Core? He refused to believe that they would be able to pose any danger to him by that point. After all, despite breakthroughs being dangerous to Meng Li, within a realm, he could simply cultivate calmly without worrying about consequences.

'Right... Now I should check what Ye Jian's up to.' Meng Li thought. But before that...
