Reincarnated Assassin

Benjamin and the priority knights were left severely injured on the ground. Their breathing was weak, their armor having holes with burn parts, and none showing any signs of being able to stand up.

The other knights panicked from seeing their strongest combatants fall. The younger knights stood in place and three ran away. Fortunately for the priority defenders and Benjamin, some of the older knights knew that their lives depended on Benjamin being alive so they quickly jumped forward protecting them.

Ritzy was also surprised, it was the first time he's seen such a devastating attack, even he doubted he could withstand a direct hit from that.

Ritzy's mind,

'This is no time to stand still, I need to analyze the situation if I want this to go my way!'.

Looking around he noticed the magician that cast lightning was sweating furiously, but still awake and standing. Meaning the mage could most likely cast another attack as powerful as the one before.

Ritzy then looked at the enemies Benjamin was fighting. Two were big furry beastkin, most likely bears, guarding the mage.

On the right of the bears, there was also an extremely pale elf with blue glowing eyes. Most likely a water magician that could use advanced magic.

On the left of the bear beastkins, there was a middle-aged gorilla beastkin. The bears were three times wider than Ritzy but the gorilla beastkin was bigger. Ritzy's torse was slightly smaller than the beastkin's biceps, the gorilla's head almost reached the roof, and his lips were currently smiling with four canine teeth coming out his mouth.

Ritzy's mind,

'Two bear beastkins with long hammers, a giant gorilla beastkin with gauntlets, and two wandless mages. Their team combination is good and the power that can be felt around them seems they might pose a challenge to me. It's doable but I got to tread lightly'.

Ritzy whispered so only Dayla could hear him,

"Look for Junger and get him ready to escape. Also, check if you can help Benjamin and the priority defenders. To escape we'll need to defeat these guys and having one of them would be a great help".

Dayla whispered back,

"understood".

Dayla quickly left Ritzy's side and walk through the bodies of knights, whispering for Junger while also checking the motionless bodies just in case Junger was unfortunate and died before they arrived.

With her away from him, he began walking forward, slowly, trying to not seem like a threat.

Every step Ritzy took, made the beastkin tense. They weren't sure what Ritzy would do but seeing his glowing red eyes which Ritzy still had on, made them cautious. The aura and glowing eyes on Ritzy screamed danger and that they couldn't rest with him around.

On the fifth step, Ritzy took forward, the elf couldn't handle the tenseness of the air and attacked.

Elf,

"Fēixíng de bīng zhù".

Advance water magic condenses in the air forming icicles. Once they were a meter long and fully formed, they launched mercilessly at Ritzy.

Ritzy quickly pulled his long sword, went into a fencing position, and with one arm deflected one of the icicles.

His fencing position which had his side toward the elf, made his volume decrease, causing the rest of the icicles to miss him completely. The one icicle he deflected was the only one that posed him a danger.

The beastkin and elf seeing the attack fell, the melee beastkin to stopped being cautions and charge forward full force.

Ready, Ritzy also charged forward.

Taking a few steps forward, the bear beastkins arrived first and swung their hammer from opposite directions. Perfectly aligned so the hammers would smash into each other with Ritzy in the middle smooshed.

Ritzy knew the longsword he had wasn't enough to face the bear duo attack so dashed backward and then through the sword like a lance to the bear on the right.

The lance pierced through the bear's c.h.e.s.t and continued going. The flying sword then headed straight to the elf but the elf quickly tried to get out of the way. Moving, the sword didn't reach his c.h.e.s.t like the bear but did cut his left shoulder. Making his left arm useless and dangling.

Seeing that he almost died, and the group seeing that Ritzy's almost killed two people with one move cause them all to sweat harder. They mind yelled that Ritzy was a danger and that they needed to run away but they knew they had no chance of escape. That the only way they could survive way to face this terrifying enemy if they wanted a chance of survival.

Ritzy seeing he killed the bear beastkin at least, he continued charging forward for the second bear beastkin.

The bear seeing Ritzy charing at him caused him to panic and swing full force the hammer sideways. Aiming for Ritzy's ribcage.

Ritzy quickly crouched causing the hammer to miss and then dived onto the bear's stomach. As he was about to reach the bear's abdomen, he conjured a twisted dagger and stabbed the bear's abdomen multiple times. In 3 seconds, he stabbed the bear's stomach 10 times.

Stabbing the bear ten times, he charged forward to the gorilla beastkin, leaving the stabbed bear beastkin to fall to the ground. Creating a loud thud and blood spreading on the wooden floor.

While running to his next target, the elf finished his cast.

Elf,

"Fēi bīngxié dīng".

Advance water magic condensed again in the air but this time instead of icicles, it was many small pieces of sharp ice being launched at Ritzy.

Knowing he couldn't deflect any of them, Ritzy conjured a mana wall to shield him.

The ice shard quickly reached the mana wall and shattered upon impact.

Seeing the ice shards not a problem any more he prepared himself for the gorilla beastkin's attack but the beastkin was in front of him anymore. Instead, he was charging at Dayla healing one of the priority defenders next to Benjamin.

Suddenly, Ritzy sensed the strange fire magic to collect again in front of the mage beastkin.

Knowing that the gorilla was close to the other people, making unreprovable the mage beastkin to use the lighting on them. Ritzy realized he was the target.

Seeing that he was in danger, he started thinking about how to survive the attack. The lightning attack is too strong to block with the shield and too fast to dodge.

Ritzy got an idea but didn't like it.

Ritzy,

"Damn it!".

Not thinking of anything better, Ritzy charged forward to the mage beastkin.

The mage beastkin smiled at Ritzy's response. Seeing him as a desperate fool setting himself up to get killed.

Mage beastkin,

"Léi jiàn"

Lighting shot straight to Ritzy but Ritzy kept charging forward.

As the lighting was about to reach Ritzy's skin, Ritzy use water magic and enveloped himself in a layer of water.

The lighting quickly merged with the surface of the water, not reaching Ritzy skin but making the water surface electrified. Waiting for the first contact with any flesh or metal to discharge on.

During this whole process, Ritzy's heart was beating furiously and not even daring to take a single breath.

Finally, the electricity ran out of energy and made the water harmless again.

Ritzy's mind,

'Luckily electricity doesn't travel in water, only on water. I shouldn't take risks like this again'.

Everyone seeing Ritzy was okay, they were left in shock. Worst of all were the beastkin and elf, they were terrified. They couldn't understand how a living thing could survive such a powerful attack with a simple defensive spell.

Before they convinced themselves that the only way to survive was to take the small chance of defeating Ritzy but now they new their instincts were right. The almost impossible action of escaping was the only way to survive. Defeating the red blessed person was a pipe dream.

Knowing they had no chance, the mage beastkin and elf look at each other and nodded.

Elf,

"Run Big guy! We'll distract red eyes! Just make sure to get one of the big five to avenge us!".

The next second elf attacked again,

"Fēi bīngxié dīng"

Ice began flying at Ritzy again and Ritzy responded with the shield just like before.

The gorilla beastkin understood what his comrades meant and stopped going for Dayla. Instead, he was now running through the way Ritzy came.

Seeing the big beastkin runaway, the young knights regained their confidence and joined in the fight.

With the old knights defending Benjamin and the priority defenders, the young knight charge straight to the two mages.

The mages were startled and weren't ready for the knights' sudden attack. Resulting in the young knights easily reaching the mages and then overkilling the beastkin and elf.

Ritzy seeing no more danger, he walked to Dayla who was currently healing the second priority defenders back to stability. She wanted to at least stop the priority defender from being, close to death, to stable. Before she completely healed them.
