Reincarnated Into Anime World

Chapter 107 - 105: Deadman Wonderland Side Final Part

We walked in silence until we got into one of the passenger cars.

"A landscape 77 meters above ground, please enjoy your ride peacefully..." The robotic voice sounded as the door closed, bringing us up high into the sky.

We enjoyed the little private moment we are currently having. The view from up here probably looked fantastic in the past. But now, there was nothing but mass destruction all around us.

"When did you know?"

"When I learned we were used as a substitute? After you disappeared all of a sudden."

"I'm sorry."

"Did you run away knowing that we were substitutes? No, of course, you did. Otherwise, you wouldn't have run at all..." Shiro muttered as she thought.

"Correct. We're merely experimental products." I spoke, "The real subject which was supposed to undergo what you went was Maruto, your dear mother's actual son."

"From what I could understand, we were supposed to undergo the same...torture. But you were able to adapt to it much quicker, turning their attention to you."

"I'm -"

BANG!

A whip of blood smashed the glass behind me into a million pieces. I couldn't react at all, staring at Shiro all this while, as a gash appeared on my cheeks.

"The pain and hatred reinforced this power." Shiro spoke, "My single 'wish' has been fulfilled.

"I had spent all my time being alone, too weak to be unable to cause harm for myself. Even now, I'm still limited by the Mother Goose System. All this time, I thought I would eventually rot to death, alone in my cell they call my 'home'. But I heard that you will be visiting me with your new friends. I didn't like that, so I decided to kill them."

"I wanted you, the key, to unlock me out of my cage and grant me my freedom, but I changed my mind."

"I got something bittersweet out of this experience."

"I was a forsaken egg...not alive anymore, an egg that had started rotting. Don't you believe that this gives me the right to hate the world? Don't you think I had the right to hate you for living a carefree life while rejoicing and experiencing boredom? Do you think that I would forgive you without making you experience the same pain I endured?"

"Then why did you, someone who hated me so much, embed the red stone into my ċhėst?" I asked curiously. Apart from the fact that I was once her "friend", I don't think anything about me made me special from everybody else. Of course, not counting my lineage abilities.

"..."

"Huh? You don't know as well, huh?" I sighed as I leaned back, "Isn't it enough already, Shiro? I don't even know whether you're the Wretched Egg or Shiro."

Shiro's smile dimmed a little. .

"There was never a distinction between the two. Like a coin with identical sides, Shiro had always been Shiro."

"Did you know that Shiro was always in pain? Everything about me was hateful, so I hate myself."

"I hate myself for killing Fuutarou's friends out of jealousy...I wanted to die even more because I wanted the man I love to kill me."

"This is the 'wish'...that I harbor."

"...In the end, it still comes down to this, huh?" My injuries had bȧrėly stopped bleeding, but a little manipulation of blood allowed me to bring my blood outside instead of just clotting in my wounds, "If you want to die, then I'll clearly kill you."

Shiro bit her thumb with a bright smile, causing a stream of blood to flow out as well.

"Thank you. Let's play like we did in our former days."

BOOOOOOM!

Despite being at the very peak of the Ferris wheel, none of us were injured by the explosion we made.

As we fell to the hardened ground, our actions mirror each other. Our chains appeared from our wounds as they aimed it at the opposite party.

Unfortunately, we missed each other by a hair's breadth as we landed on the ground gracefully.

Shiro immediately jumped up to the night sky, but I climbed up towards her using the roller coaster's tracks since I couldn't float. My physical capabilities allowed me to easily reach the peak where I aimed a few balls of explosions towards her.

Shiro was either not expecting that, or she simply wasn't paying attention, but she only managed to react at the last minute, using her chains to defend herself against the explosions in her face. Even better yet, before the smoke even cleared, four chains rained down at me.

I managed to dodge them, but now, I had no footing in the air anymore as the chains destroyed the roller coaster tracks.

Smoke was turning to become the best distraction in a fight as nobody expected any attacks to come their way during a fight.

"I won't say anything stupid like my friends were supposed to come here with me on the field trip. I won't ask why!" I yelled, "Because I know the reason."

"Everyone is so fragile...I had forgotten; it had been too long..." Shiro's chains of blood were turning more and more aggressive. The initial painful whip had turned into massive explosions upon contact.

"I've sure waited for a while for you, Fuutarou!"

Eight massive explosions surrounded me, and even if I wasn't directly hit, both the blinding light and heatwave created were no joke.

"AHHHH!" My tails had little help in this situation, and my sense of hearing and smell only made matters worse in this situation. But I wasn't going down without a fight.

Wings of blood sprouted behind my back as a way to shield me, and the moment the explosions stopped, I immediately glided up. I still can't fly, but staying in the air for a short time was still doable.

But before I could fly up high, I was immediately smacked down by what seemed to be a giant cage. How ironic; a free bird like me being "trapped".

I didn't cough out any blood, but it still hurt like shit after dropping a few floors from the sky.

I've always hated fighting Shiro. She was simply a monster that couldn't be contained. What's worse is that this is still her sealed form. Imagine if the mother goose system was disabled...

I shudder to think about it.

"Tch...gaaaah..." I ġrȯȧnėd as I sat upright, leaning against the cage.

"Is this all you've got?" Shiro asked as she stared at me, "You're really weak, Fuutarou. Why not use your tails?"

My tails aren't suited for long-range combat, to begin with, and more surface area in this type of AOE fights only makes me feel more pain.

"Hah...you're just a monster, Shiro. No offense by that, though." I spoke as I stood up.

"That's right." Shiro smiled as she watched me stand back up. Her sadistic side in breaking people really needs to be curbed.

Another explosion blasted in the middle of us as our projectiles met in the middle for the nth time, creating a shower of red.

"You've said it right from the start, Shiro. 'With the power you possess, I want you to kill me!'"

"What about it?"

"I entered the penitentiary. Became stronger with the branch of sin you gave me. But can I really kill you?"

This was becoming a battle of projectiles and attrition. Who could control their aim better? Who could use their limited blood supply more efficiently? Who had packed more power into that projectile?

"I abandoned you, yet, you consoled me and cheered me up. Man, I really wanted to tell you all that before I fell in love..."

The merry-go-round, the Mad Tea Party, the basketball shooting stall...each of them was further destroyed, further devastated.

"If you really liked me, then grant my 'wish' already."

Shiro's entire body was a weapon - her strength, flexibility, and control over her powers. No matter how many projectiles I aimed at her, she would dodge it by bending her body to unnatural angles. No matter how many explosions I aimed at her, she would always create another chain to deflect it away.

Chains weren't her only powers; her branch of sin: Original Sin/Roots was basically my branch of sin, only stronger. Everything I could do, she could.

She was evolving, growing as we fought.

Still, I managed to remain relatively even against her. Because whatever she could do to me, I could do to her as well.

'My ċhėst hurts...'

I could literally feel the crystal crawling its way out of my ċhėst, dying to reunite with its other half.

'Just one more fight...'

'Just one more blow...'

After an hour, it finally came to an end.

With me sitting on top of Shiro's stomach and my palm facing her face, Shiro didn't show any fear.

She closed her eyes and smiled, accepting the last ball of blood that was flowing in front of my palm.

POOF!

The ball of blood didn't explode; it merely popped next to Shiro's face.

"What the hell...you weren't able to kill me after all."

"Well, that's because," I smiled as I touched her ċhėst, leaning towards her heart as I listened to the steady thumping, "You don't really want to die, right?"

Shiro's eyes widened visibly at my words. True enough...

"I wanted to go to school...play with friends...ride on the Ferris wheel, but I couldn't do any of this..."

"I shouldn't have been born, I'm...I'm a woodpecker possessing a beak of poison! I've injured and done so many horrible things to many people. I don't deserve the right to live! That's why the thing that I want most is to die! I CAN'T FORGIVE MYSELF FOR ALL THE THINGS I'VE DONE!" Shiro screamed before she became silent, "Yet...I don't want to...the truth is..."

She stared at me with a tearful look, "I just want to be happy."

"See? It wasn't too hard, was it?" Hugging her, I patted her back. It was the most I could do; I was too tired for anything else.

Shiro couldn't control her emotions anymore as she started wailing her tears out.

5 minutes, 10 minutes, half an hour, and finally, after an hour, she stopped crying.

Thinking of something, I bit her gently on her neck.

"F-Fuutarou?!"

"With that, you are now a fox's mate; my possession. Even if you can't forgive yourself, even if I can't forgive you, in the end, you'll still be my possession." I smiled, "If I stay with you, no matter how absurd it sounds, I'm sure we'll be able to eat all the puddings in the world."

"...Is that really alright? Even if you don't forgive me...do I have the right to love you, Fuutarou?"

"Let's finish the woodpecker song, shall we?"

"I'm really happy right now." With a scrunched-up face stained with blood, Shiro spoke, her albino-white eyelashes trembling with joy.

She hugged me, pressing the crystals on our ċhėsts together when the most surprising thing happened.

Our crystals embedded in our ċhėst exploded.

It wasn't the dangerous explosion type; instead, the explosion signaled the end of everything.

For the final time, our branch of sin grew to an unimaginable scale, and a beautiful shape appeared.

Much like a nuclear bomb, our entire surroundings turned white as I slowly lost my consciousness.
