The next day, I walked into the Rain Dinners casino with my remaining 20,000 Berrys saving.

The atmosphere of the place was lively and affluent, as all kinds of rich and reputed people from Rainbase city were present.

There were all kinds of casino games too that I'd recognized from my previous world including: Blackjack, Roulette, and some slot machines.

I went ahead and visited the familiar roulette game at first.

It was the same: the dealer spins the wheel clockwise, while a ball is rolled counterclockwise. The bets given will correspond to the number it lands on from 0-36 or 00.

"Would you like to bet, sir?

The dealer noticed me around the roulette game and asked with a polite smile on his face.

"Yes, bet all my ch.i.p.s on the number, 25!"

I crossed my arms and focused my gaze on the roulette wheel. Call it intuition if you will, but I just felt that the ball was going to land according to my predictions.

I was going all in with my money…

In due time, the dealer accepted all bets and -clunk- spun the wheel.

All the people around me held their number ticket tightly in anticipation as the wheel came closer to stopping.

Very soon, the ball had landed on a number. It was the number… 25. My smile couldn't be broader at this moment.

But before the wheel stopped completely, and I officially won more than half a million…

Bang-Bang!

Instantly, two bullets were shot at the table that forced the ball to move away from my number.

"Everyone, hand all your money!"

Right then, a group of rowdy looking people with twisted smiles appeared. They had swords and guns in their hands and were also being led by a man with spiky red hair.

"It's Agotogi's b-bandit group…!"

"I… I heard they escaped from prison!"

"They dared to attack our hero, Crocodile's, establishment?!"

A few cries came out from the civilians in the casinos. Many of them were trembling uncontrollably from the shock of the bandit group's entrance.

The man with the spiky red hair, the leader of the bandits, took slow strides towards us.

"Mwah-haha…! Looks like people recognize me! If you want to keep your petty lives, then obediently hand over all your mone-"

Raging Tiger….!

Suddenly, immense levels of gravitation force were channeled out of my arm and pushed out horizontally. It was like a wave of gravitational force that destroyed everything on its path.

Boom…! Clash…!

Everything inside the radius of the gravitation force, be it the bandits or the gambling tables, were sent flying horizontally or reduced to rubble instantly.

It was destruction on a massive scale, proportional to the anger I was feeling right now.

'Couldn't these goddamn idiots have barged in another time,' my nostrils flared with anger. I didn't think I could claim my money so easily anymore, since the roulette spin had been disturbed.

While I was cursing my fate, everyone watched with gaping jaw the destruction my powers had caused. There was a massive hole in the wall the direction I had sent my gravitational force in.

Soon I walked over to the dealer once again who was still shivering.

"This time, bet on the number 26… No, 17!"

"Y-Yes sir." The dealer spun the wheel again hastily.

Later, everyone recovered from their shocks and went back to gambling. There were a few stares here and there, but I didn't care at all.

**

The sun was almost up, and darkness began to surround Rainbase city. I was walking back to my hut, which was at the outskirts of the city.

Today's gambling effort after the bandit raid went terrible. I had lost all my money.

Fortunately, a manager from the Rain Dinner casino handed 100,000 Berrys to me as a reward. He was talking to me very politely after the performance I had put on.

I could at least eat well for another few weeks with this. Sigh… But it won't be too long that I have to waste my time doing a job or bounty hunting.

Step-Step-

At that moment, as soon as I had reached an abandoned area, I heard two people approach me from the distance.

I turned my glance around to spot two people. One of them was a man with long, unkempt hair with a headband. The other was a woman wearing a hood with three antennae-like stalks coming out of it. She had long pants and a short-sleeved shirt.

"Who the hell are you two, and why're you following me?"

My head tilted to the side. I had no recollection of these people with their weird outfits.

"I'm Mr. 10!"

"I'm Miss Tuesday! We both are frontier agents from the secret organization, Baroque Works!"

The two struck a pose with their backs together.

"Oh…" My eyes glazed over them, and I continued my journey back home.

"Hey, wait! We heard about your feats today in the casino… We're here to recruit you!"

Miss Tuesday began to chase after me.

I just yawned and then replied, "Not interested."

Shinng…!

Right then, Mr. 10 unsheathed his blade and yelled, "We're recruiting you with force if we have to. If you're smart, you'll come with us!"

There was a long moment of silence, as I immediately paused my footsteps. Mr.10 and Miss Tuesday were right behind me, eyeing me with an evil grin and their weapons readied.

Without looking back, I channeled gravity force through my hand once again.

Trip to hell…! Drrrrrrrr….!

All of a sudden, an immensely powerful downward force of gravity pushed Miss Tuesday and Mr.10 down.

"W-What's happening?!"

"Ahhh!"

They both desperately tried to get up but to no avail. The force of gravity was too strong for them to power through.

BOOM…! In a few moments, a massive crater formed around the location of the two Baroque work agents. They were sent deep underground into the abyss.

I didn't even bother checking if they were dead or alive, since their death was of no concern to me.

Their death was their fault for trying to provoke me without recognizing their own power after all.

Hiss- Before I could get moving again, the sand around me started to move in queer ways. It was going against the wind.

Then, it started to materialize into a shape of a human…

For the first time in a while, my eyes narrowed with true caution.

Just as expected, a tall man with wide c.h.e.s.t, broad shoulders, and a thick neck materialized. He had pale skin, nape-length black hair, a large golden hook on his left hand.

This man with the heavy-lidded eyes was the "Desert King" Sir Crocodile… no doubt about it.

"For what do I owe you, one of the seven warlords of the sea, the p.l.e.a.s.u.r.e?"

My expression was still calm and collected on the surface. On the inside, I was watching out for any moves the man made though.

"The people you've killed, they were my subordinates." Crocodile said, his voice nonchalant. It was evident in his voice that he didn't care much about their deaths.

"So, are you here to take revenge for them?"

"No, they were foolish people who overestimated their abilities." Crocodile's lips curled upwards as he continued, "Join my organization and help us build the ideal nation…. I don't show my true self to just anyone, but you on the other hand are made of a different metal altogether. Recruiting you will be a great boon to my plans."

I snorted loudly and covered myself with Armament Haki. "Are you going to kill me if I refuse?"

"Yes, you now know my identity after all."

The next moment, Crocodile covered his hook with Armament Haki and smirked visibly.

Meanwhile, my eyes had become completely wide with surprise, 'Since when did Crocodile get Armament Haki.' Not only did he have Haki, it frankly looked much stronger than mine. Is it possible that Crocodile is stronger than he was in the manga?

If I logically thought about it, Crocodile was strong enough to take attacks from Doflamingo, Jozu, and even Dracule Mihawk. But at the same time, he lost easily from pre-time skip Luffy.

There may have been a few inconsistencies with his strength. Perhaps, now that the One Piece world had become real, Crocodile's strength had been adjusted realistically to the experienced New-World pirate and warlord he was… Either this, or some mysterious entity above had powered him up for unknown reasons.

'Whatever…'

Honestly, I expected myself to be powerful enough to breeze my way through the first half of Grand Line. Yet I didn't lament at all as I said, "I don't care about your ideal nation… I don't fear you or even death… Your offer isn't enough!"

The force of gravity started to become stronger around me.

According to my calculations, I should at least be able escape from him in our battle.
