Reincarnated Into Two Bodies

I'm bored... There's nothing to do after training...

Books are the only entertainment I can find in this house, but I've read them all... Sometimes, I feel like my fast reading speed is a curse.

Back in my previous life, after returning home from work, I either go to bed immediately, or stay up late to finish leftover work. Here? I'm barely tired after training so I can't sleep, it's not even night yet. And there's no work for me to do to take my mind off things...

Both of my bodies let out a heavy sigh while rolling in our beds.

Maybe, I can try stuff? This is a fantasy world after all, maybe I can secretly use magic? I reincarnated here right? So I should have OP magic hidden away or something.

"Alright!"

Both of my bodies stood up from our beds. I focused my mind on Feyt first, I held out my hands and try to force magic out. Try to imagine something about flow, water, bla bla bla.

"Hnnggghhhh!!!"

Nothing. Well, that sucks. Let's try Carine this time, she might have it!

"Hnnnghhhh!!!"

Nope, still nothing.

I sat down on both of my beds in defeat. Not being able to use magic in a fantasy world is depressing...

Maybe, I can test out my Talents? [Enhanced Sight] and [Enhanced Hearing] right? I always use it passively, since that's how you're supposed to use them, that's what I read from the book about Talents anyway.

What can I test out though? I already know that I can see and hear better than people without the Talents, but is that really it? Hmm, think think think. What other ways I can use my Talents?

[Enhanced Sight] Improves my eyesight right? Which means, it might be close to photographic memory, maybe I can draw from memory? Let's test that out.

I brought out a blank parchment of paper from my table drawer and lay it down on the table. I took the pen from the side of the table and rested it on my hand.

What should I draw? Maybe someone I've seen before? Someone I see everyday would be better. How about Leila? Yeah, let's draw Leila.

The paper that was blank a few minutes ago now has a perfect sketch of Leila standing elegantly. A pose I saw her doing many times when in presence of mother and father.

I can only gaze in awe at the sketch, and it took less than three minutes to make this! I can draw with only memory as reference, it's seriously awesome!

Wait, if this worked with [Enhanced Sight], won't this work with [Enhanced Hearing] too?

How do I test [Enhanced Hearing] though? I don't have any instruments in my room...

Ah right, Ricent's gift for my birthday, the flute. I walked to my closet where I keep my clothes and a few other stuffs on the cabinet below. I opened the cabinet and grabbed the wooden flute that was laid beside dad's stone dumbbell. I never played flute in my life before, and I don't think Feyt has either.

Alright, here goes nothing. I imagined a song in my mind and then blew into the flute.

Yeah, no doubt, that's the song I imagined... Even though I never touched a flute in both of my life, or technically three, I managed to play the song I imagined perfectly!

WAIT! It makes sense now! Ricent kept saying things like "Your music is so great!", "Play at the pub again sometime!" and all that stuff, but I shrugged it off because I believed it was his weird perception of what "great music" is, since I was just pushing random piano keys to the beat of my mind. But, he was right, I really am good at music! Maybe I can live as a musician in this world!

I'm also good at drawing as Carine! It's surprisingly realistic and beautiful, I can live as an artist and draw anything I like! A relaxing but popular life, here I come!

[Enhanced Sight] and [Enhanced Hearing] are the best!

Ah, wait...

[Enhanced Sight] and [Enhanced Hearing] are common Talents right? That means... Almost everyone can do this...

I slumped down on my table and bed in defeat, to think I believed I was special for a moment...

"Hah..."

Well, I might not be able to have them as professions, but it can be a hobby right? At least I'll have something to do when I'm bored.

We lifted our faces up and then continue to draw and play the flute in our rooms while waiting for dinner.

 

 

I walked down the hall towards Lady Carine's room, another maid is following close behind me.

*Knock* *Knock*

"My Lady, dinner is ready"

"I'll open the door"

Small footsteps can be heard inside the room, soon Lady Carine opened the door and greeted us both.

"My Lady, she will guide you to the dining room for tonight, I will be cleaning your room"

"Understood Leila, I'll be leaving then"

Lady Carine left with the other maid to the dining room, I entered Lady Carine's room and started to clean up dusts from nearby furniture.

As I approached Lady Carine's desk, I can see a few papers with drawings on them.

"Ah, Lady Carine has taken up drawing? Like mother like daughter... Huh?"

I initially thought that the drawings would be just simple child like drawings. But what I see is a realistic copy of me drawn in sketch on the paper. Alongside that were a few other papers with drawings of Lord Kyrat and Lady Peyna on them, some maids and butlers from the mansion too, and unsurprisingly, Feyt.

They were all drawn in detail, even more detailed than the eye can see...

I should keep these safe, Lady Carine might be mad if her hard work was thrown away without care.

After storing the drawings safely inside the table drawers, I continue to clean the room. But I can't take my mind off those drawings, it's really beautiful.

Hmm, that's weird, Carine has already been escorted to the dining room, so why hasn't Feyt been called up?

I continue to play the flute while I wait for the maid to knock at the door. But it never came, was I kicked out of the dining room without both of me knowing?

 

"Where's Feyt?"

Father asked worryingly to a maid.

"I-I don't know, I've already ordered one of us to escort him"

"Then check on him!"

"Y-Yes My Lord, I'll head there right away!"

 

Well, they're expecting me, then what's going on?!

"Ha~~"

Huh? I heard a cute voice from beside the door...

I opened it and see a maid leaning towards the wall with her eyes closed with a smile on her face. I woke her up with my voice.

"...Hey"

"Hm? Huh- Wha-"

The maid looked frantically around and then she saw me after looking down.

"Ah... AHHHH!!! F-F-Forgive me! D-D-Dinner is ready!!"

"Y-Yeah..."

A bit too late don't you think?!

Why was she sleeping there? Was she tired? It's understandable really, maids and butlers work hard everyday here.

I heard a frantic run towards this hall, I looked at the source of the sound and saw a older looking maid running towards us. She's the same maid that father was talking to in the dining room

"Yilena! What took you so long?!"

"I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry!!"

The younger maid rapidly bowed apologetically towards the older maid, the older maid then noticed me standing at the doorway.

"A-Ah! S-Sir Feyt! A-Allow me to escort you to the dining room~"

"Y-Yeah... Sure..."

I followed the older looking maid, leaving the frantically apologizing younger maid behind.

...

"...That was a beautiful music~"

Yilena was asleep back there, she dreamed about her family and her home town while listening to Feyt's calming flute music. She was intrigued by the music at first, but then fell asleep gradually as she listened more and more.

"A-Ah, the head maid is going to demote me!!"

She just now realized the grave situation she was in. This blunder might cost her her job.

"I-I need to make it up to Sir Feyt!"

The only way she can be safe is to have Feyt forgive her directly, even then she might receive a pay cut.

"Aaaahh~~~ My salary~~~~"

She started crying pathetically on her knees.

 

 

In the kingdom of Denta, the king and a few select people are gathered in the castle's briefing room.

"Your Majesty, I suggest we move the capital city first before we execute the plan!"

"I agree with him Your Majesty! We're simply too close to them!"

The king stood up and slammed his fists on the wooden table.

*PLACK*

"No! We must not!"

A hole can be seen in the place where his fist was slammed.

"We don't have time to do that! We must attack Ortensia directly!"

"But Your Majesty!"

"Shut your mouths! We have more than enough forces to occupy their capital in a manner of weeks! If we move the capital and use our forces for labor, they will attack us while we are at our lowest!"

"Y-Your Majesty, if I may, I doubt that Ortensia will attack us unprovoke-"

"THEY WILL!"

*PLACK*

"Hiieegh~"

Another hole was created on the table.

"We must do this! For the sake of Denta!! Now, let's discuss the plans!"

The king sat down on his luxurious seat.

"Y-Yes, Your Majesty"

The others gave up, the king is too stubborn. They are wondering the purpose of having this meeting if the king isn't going to listen to their opinions.
