Reincarnation: Love After Death

Chapter 10 - I. Am. Death.

One of the hell hounds earlier came back, and transformed into a human form.

This hell hound's name was Akila. The right hand of Death himself. Akila is responsible in transporting souls that were punished by Death to go to hell, and he was the middleman between Death and Lucifer.

"Anna Perkins has been transported into the underworld, Master." Akila said.

Death shrugged and said, "Have you seen Vainos? I haven't heard his report about the man I ordered to be transported to heaven."

As if on cue, Vainos appeared in front of Death in the form of a white wolf before transforming into a human form as well.

Vainos is the left hand of Death. He is responsible in transporting souls that were rewarded by Death to be sent into heaven, and he was the middleman between Death and God.

Both Vainos and Akila has the power to transform themselves into a human form in order to blend in whenever they're surrounded by humans or to tell their respective reports to their Master, Death.

Death on the other hand can be invisible to humans by wearing his knee-length coat, and only souls of the departed can see him while wearing one. Death can blend in with humans whenever he remove his coat. He is considered to be the most powerful being in the middle of Heaven and Hell.

Vainos bowed down before Death and started to report, "I already managed to bring the soul of the old man in heaven. God was pleased with your decision. The man really do belong there." Vainos smiled remembering the happiness radiated by the old man when he received the judgement of being sent to heaven.

Akila shook his head and mockingly laughed at Vainos, "Such a small matter and you're already happy?"

Vainos frowned and said, "Unlike you, I appreciate small gestures of appreciation."

Here we go again. Death thought to himself. These two were really polar opposites. Just like Heaven and Hell. Ice and Fire. The only thing that was pleasing to him about these two were their loyalty. He can put his life into the hands of these two and not worry for a second.

Oh. I forgot. I'm immortal. I'll never die. I have no weakness. I only have the ultimate power of Judgement. To give someone torture or guarantee eternal peace.

"Enough with your bickering, you two!" I commanded.

The both of them went silent and stood up straight.

"I have something to order to the both of you." I said.

"What is it, Master?" they both replied.

"Akila, I want you to bring me the Book of the Unseen from hell. Vainos, bring me the Book of the Revelations from heaven."

Akila and Vainos looked at each other. Confusion were clearly written on their faces. These two books were hidden from both hell and heaven for more than a thousand years ago. Why would Death be interested on finding them?

But before they can ask Death about his reasons, Death snapped his fingers to send his servants back to where they belong in order to start the search for the two books.

I am absolute. My power is eternal. I can be a person's savior or a person's tormentor.

I. Am. Death.
