"Yo, Rose did you wait for long?" Alex came from behind and surprised her with a smile.

"Yo??? No! I just arrived here!" Rose replied. She thought his way of talking was weird.

There is saying that quiet or lonely people notice the smallest of things. Rose felt the current Alex was different like he was suddenly free from all the worries in the world.

She can feel his relaxed smile was pure and genuine. As a person, she knows it was totally impossible for A.d.u.l.ts to have such pure and relaxed smile like him. Most children will lose their pure and genuine smile naturally as they grow up.

They slowly walked towards the shopping district where fancy and rich restaurants open for the night. Rose walked while gazing the beautiful stars as she was nervous since it was her first time to eat dinner with the opposite s.e.x, not including her father or uncle.

Soon they reached a restaurant recommended by a servant. Alex asked where he can find a restaurant which serves tasty food, so the servant as a local naturally recommended an Old Cheap restaurant which seemed to run by a pair of Old people with a middle-aged woman and a little girl.

Both of their faces cramped looking at the near run-down restaurant. But the restaurant was packed with people of all ages.

Alex smiled awkwardly, "Let's go to another restaurant!" he said.

He took a couple of steps and froze after seeing the face of the middle-aged woman. Rose also stopped after seeing his movement stopped. She looked at the direction where he was looking to find why he was shocked like this.

There was a plump middle-aged woman in her late 30's with blonde hair stood in the kitchen helping the Old couple in cooking while a 6 or 7-year-old girl took care of serving the food. Alex stood staring at the face of the middle-aged woman forgetting the lady behind him.

Noticing some was staring at her from outside, she focused her eyes to see who was it. But soon she also stood to do nothing but staring at him. A teardrop leaked from the corner of her eyes as she smiled gently at him.

Alex felt his emotion fluctuating; he turned his head from her and said, "Let's go!"

Looking at Alex turning away, the woman started panicking as she left the job to her grandma and ran outside. All of the customers were local, so they all knew each other; they were curious why she was in a panic. The cute little girl also left the work and watched her mom curiously.

Alex held his head down and walked forward, soon a sound stopped him," Alex! Wait, don't go!" the middle-aged woman came running and hugged him tightly.

"Alex...Alex....I missed you so much!" the middle-aged woman started crying while burying his head in her bosoms.

She wiped her tears and grabbed Alex's hands and said, "Alex, I know you hate me, but please believe me! Give me one chance to explain and after that whatever you do is your choice!" she begged.

Alex was feeling sad and happy at the same time. He nodded in acceptance.

A joyous smiled appeared on her face, "Alex, we close in 2 hours. Will you wait for me till then?" she said.

"Okay! We are also hungry! Is there any seat available for us to dine?" Alex asked her.

"Ohhh! Is this your girlfriend? She looks gorgeous!" the middle-aged woman said with a smile.

"No....! We.. are just friends!" Rose replied before he can open his mouth.

"Okay! Follow me inside; You can dine inside our house! It might be a little old, so please excuse us!" she said as she took Alex's hands and took them inside via back door.

Alex asked Rose, "Is it ok if we dine here?"

"Sure, I don't mind!" she replied with a smile.

Alex walked inside the room and looked at the surroundings. It looked pretty worn down; it showed the family lived here is not well off.

"It feels suspicious! Customers are flocking outside and seem earing quite enough, but the house doesn't reflect that." Rose voiced her concern which was also going inside his mind.

Alex looked at the little girl who was staring at them with curiosity. Rose waved her hands at the little girl asking her to come near.

The little girl quickly hid herself. The middle-aged woman soon returned with plates full of foods.

"Wow! Food looks delicious!" commented both of them at the same time.

"Please, don't be shy! Ask whatever you want! Lily come here and take care of this big brother and big sister! She is my daughter, Lily! Ask her if you want anything, OK!" the middle-aged woman said.

Both of them nodded and started eating.

"It's delicious! I really missed her food so much!" Alex commented. Rose also nodded to show her approval. Rose from her childhood was always taught to behave appropriately, so she knew it was rude to intrude into Alex's private matters. Even though she was curious, she controlled herself from asking.

Lily walked towards them and sat near the table. Alex called her to sit near him. At first, Lily was shy, but she slowly moved near him. Alex took a portion from the food and asked her to eat with them.

She shook her head, but Alex pushed the plate forcefully towards her. She looked at the food like it was something luxurious even though it is prepared from their own restaurant. She slowly munched the food like a squirrel while both of them watched her with a gentle smile.

Both of them finished their food, talked for a bit and then Alex sent Rose to the mansion while he waited for them to close their restaurant. Alex asked her if Rose wanted him to accompany her to the mansion. But she declined and left.

Soon the pair of grandparents and the middle-aged woman returned with a tired face from all the work. The Old pair quietly returned to their room to sleep with only the woman and the little girl in the room remaining with Alex.

"Pam! Where were you all these years? Why didn't you come to meet me?" Alex asked looking at her seriously.

Pamela looked down with sorrow and started explaining what happened all these years.
