'huh. Demon-King bloodline? This dog must have had a great ancestor.'

As Yenma looked around in his surroundings, he found himself in some sort of a cave and was leashed near the entrance of the cave.

'Looks like someone lives in this cave and I'm their pet?'

As Yenma was lost in his thoughts, he saw a humanoid creature come into the cave and walk towards him. This creature was about 1.5 metres tall and his whole body was covered in red-shaggy skin. The creature also had four eyes, four ears and a mouth.

'This is the ugliest thing I have ever seen in my life! Why is it coming towards me?!', Yenma was alarmed.

"WOOOAAAFF! RRRLLOAAAR!"

(Yenma: Don't come here! Get out!)

"Huh. Why are you acting so strange little meow?", The red-demon Alkaroth was confused.

"Did someone bully you? Was it that big-bad neighbour of ours? Don't worry, we have been at odds with him for long and today I'm going to settle things down once and for all!", Alkaroth was determined.

"Here take this piece of meat, I got it from a Rank-2 beast. It will nourish you and perhaps you could ascend and become a Rank-1 beast!"

Saying so, Alkaroth took out a thick-leg limb of some beast and put it in front of his pet.

'Man, looks like this dude is the owner of this dog. I don't want to remain here anyway, I need to make my escape soon!'

'System, just now that ugly-red thing told me about ranked beasts, what does that mean?'
