Chapter 6 - Forest

As Alkaroth was immersed in hugging his pet he suddenly felt his neck going cold.

As he looked down he saw his beloved pet had firmly bit into his neck.

"Wh-why?...", There was shock and disbelief written all over his face as he collapsed lifelessly onto the ground.

'This time I didn't level up as fast as before. Looks like I would have to aim for higher ranked beasts but that won't be easy.', Yenma pondered has he swaggered his way out of the cave.

Yenma just suddenly remembered he had unlocked some "missions" features.

'System, what is this missions feature?'

[Replying to Host, System will randomly assign missions to Host and upon completion Host will be rewarded with Exp.]

.

'This is pretty convenient!'

'System, Show missions.'

'Hmmm… Let's see if I can complete any of these missions on my way to finding a demonic city.'

.

Yenma then travelled for days in Hell and all he saw was bleak greyish skies and cracked red ground with no signs of any life or vegetation.

Finally on the 8th day he came near the outer-reaches of a huge forest.

This forest was filled with demonic trees which were tall, bleak and ugly. The gloomy air around the forest definitely spoke for itself that this was certainly not a sacred place.

After deliberating for a while Yenma finally decided to enter the creepy forest.

.

It had been a good two days inside the forest and nothing surprising happened.

.

On the third day when Yenma was getting closer to the inner-regions of the forest he heard lot of beastly howls. He was immediately more cautious and careful in his movements.

Very soon Yenma came across a small rabbit that was chewing some demonic grass.

'You shall be my first prey in this forest.', he thought.

Yenma slowly approached the rabbit from its blind spot without making any unnecessary noises.

When the rabbit was within its range of attack, Yenma immediately jumped and tried to bite the rabbit.

In the next moment Yenma found himself flying 10 feet away and crashing onto a tree.

'Mother of god! What the f*** just happened??!'

As Yenma looked around he saw that cute white rabbit staring at him with a tinge of anger in its eyes.

Yenma suddenly felt something was off.

.

'System, Identify.'

Yenma: 'Oh mai gawd….'

.

Yenma didn't even hesitate before turning around and running away.

He soon found out his health was running low and perhaps one more hit from that cute rabbit might really kill him.

'System, assign 20 attributes to health and 20 to speed.'

.

Soon given Yenma's increased speed left the rabbit behind biting his dust.

'Ahaha..that rabbit nearly scared me to death. But thankfully its speed is slow and nothing worthy of mention.'

Yenma was joyous of his escape from the rabbit. If he died under the hands of a rabbit he would probably never truly be in peace.

.

Unbeknownst to Yenma, due to the pursuit of the rabbit, he had reached the core region of the forest. This was the deadliest part of the forest and also the main reason why other beasts didn't even dare to inhabit its outer-reaches but obviously there were some exceptions like the rabbit but there were only very few in number.
