R:VCP | Chapter 22: What A Villain Should Do

As she looked at the others who was busy looking worriedly at Luna, Camille silently sighed. She was also terribly worried about Luna.

Not only because because she know the ending plot of this world story, but also because of some other worrying... things.

'Dezu? Is it not still working?' Camille urgently asked, worried.

[Host Camilla... I'm sorry but it's still error. Every time I tried sensing Miss Luna's condition the higher ups keep restricting me.]

'Restricting you? Why is that?... Does asking for the System's help on checking the character's condition forbidden?'

Camille asked confused, thinking that it seems suspicious. Especially since this is just simple as checking the info of the character. So why?

Dezu was also confused but he also has his own suspiciouns.

[I also don't know host, it just says that this information is restricted and locked by the higher ups... but if you ask me, I think something is really going on or going to happen soon.] Dezu seriously said.

Going to happen?

'What do you mean?' Camille soon detected the seriousness of the problem and ask Dezu again.

'What do you mean Dezu? Is it... Has to do something about the past you were talking about?' She speculated.

Dezu hesitated, but then decided to say some things.

[Host Camilla, listen to me... Okay? I will only say it once since this is not really the right time for me to say it. So you must listen carefully and decode the things I'll say, since I can't say it to you directly or else it will just be muted and you won't still hear it.]

Camille paused, but then smiled slightly and nods.

'Okay, I'll listen'

[Er... Well let me start then. Five stars known as the brightest of every star. The stars were so close to each other. One day the oldest star became a falling star. One by one the other stars also followed. Because of that the sky has changed, the sky was angered and (a prophecy was told.) And a war will happen. Can you understand it host?]

'A little, but I think some of your words were muted...' Camille pointed out. She heard Dezu's slight paused and suspected that he was muted.

[Sigh... Yes, host Camilla, your right. I was muted again. Especially since the time to say that is not now. And you need to remember it yourself.]

Dezu was distressed about the happenings too... But he can't do anything but to stay silent, because even if he tried to help and say something, he will still end up being restricted and muted.

Just as she thought of this, she reacted and asked.

'Dezu! Tell me, if you can't even sense Luna's condition then does this mean the others cannot too?'

Dezu paused, confused why Camille asked but still answer her honestly.

'Then, if one tries to scan or sense Luna's condition, what... will they see?'

Dezu thought for a moment and said.

[That... If it's a system that has a connection with the heavenly beings itself, like me, then I might sense it but will be restricted to tell or will be completely prohibited to see it. But if it's an independent God, or a simple Spirits. They might only see the outer cover that was put into the body, and their scan will always result as okay, or the body is normal.]

Dezu thought for a moment then continue in explaining it in a simple term he thought that fits Camille's preference.

[ It's like a virus that act as an innocent application, you will ignore it because you already tried opening it and nothing seems wrong about it, but you didn't know that it was actually destroying your computer without you even knowing. The only one that can detect the virus, is an anti-virus program itself. A program that specializes in killing viruses. In other words the only thing that can really see Miss Luna's real situation right now is the same beings who made the restrictions. Hah... I'm thirsty host, I said so much]

Camille ignored Dezu's acting shamelessly cute actions and continued with her chain of thoughts.

The heavenly beings?

They were mentioned once again.

Also, there was also the mention of the right time...

There is also that. My identity. My sealed memories. And Luna's condition that no one can know because of the restrictions.

Not only that, but...

Camille looked at the others who was looking after Luna.

This... familiar warmth and connection I felt, when I'm with them.

Camille inhaled and clenched her fist, and with a sigh. She unclenched her hands and finally made a decision that may or may not help them in the future.

With a determined and resolute look, she called Dezu.

'Dezu, give me the Perfect Answer item. I'll use it.'

Dezu was surprised, but still did his job.

[Does host want to use the item Perfect Answer?]

'Yes.'

[The item Perfect Answer can be only use once. Does the host want to use the item Perfect Answer now?]

[Yes]

' [Yes] '

A simple bright ball of light appeared in Camille's conciousness it was floating steadily there. A mysterious steady voice was then heard from it.

'You only have one chance to ask me your question. Think carefully... What will it be?'

Camille looked at Luna again, and then the others. Then she answered the voice decisively.

'The five people inside this room right now, including me. Are not really...'

'...Human, right?'

It was silent for a moment, and even Dezu didn't dare breathe. When finally the voice answered.

'Yes, you five aren't human. To put it simply, your souls aren't the soul of a mere human being.'

Camille blank for a second then smiled.

'I see...'

[Ding! The host used the item Perfect Answer.]

[Ding! The item Perfect Answer has now expired. Hope host enjoyed the item.]

The bright floating ball then dissapeared. And Camille's smile also showed her relief. She already have somehow guessed it, but still hearing it from others... It still made her surprised for a moment.

But she really didn't expect this... And this made her somehow hard to believe it.

Not human huh....

Before she can even continue surmising her thoughts, Belle, Dahlia, and Ivy who was all silent finally made a sound. And the girl on the bed also finally moved.

Luna who was still a bit groggy and cold, pat around for a blanket. Luna who's mind was still mushy and a little bit vague thought she was still in her bed. Hearing someone was calling her, she replied groggily with reluctance.

"5 more minutes..." She covered her face with blanket and went back to sleep again.

The girl's was amused by Luna's cuteness, and decided to let her sleep in more. Thinking as long as they are there, even when Luna finally realized that something isn't right, she can't run away from them anymore.

After five minutes mark, the sun was already setting. Luna was asleep for the entire day... From morning till now. Which prompted them to make a leave of absence for her, and inform their teachers so they can accompany her on her rest in the infirmary.

The teachers who knows that these girls can't be stopped, decided to just turn a blind eye and let them be especially since their parents are sorta of... One of the key members of the school board. So in other words, they can't be messed up with.

"Luna... Luna~" they tried to wake her up, since it's already pretty late.

"Luna~~~!"

"Arr... ad.. add more tem... Ten minutes..." Luna mumbles still wasn't willing to wake up.

The girls started to get frustrated since she still wasn't waking up, which now leads them to no other choice but she her awake.

"Luna!"

"Luna wake up!"

"Luna!!!"

"Halfnmmm hour mormmmmhh..."

"Arghhhhhhhhhhh! She isn't waking up!" Dahlia who was the one who volunteered to do the job of shaking Luna awake, shouted frustratedly.

"How... How about, we... Ermm.. try one by one? I, I mean waking her up I mean." Ivy suggested.

Dahlia shrugged and replied., "Fine by me."

Belle also nodded in agreement, Camille sighed but nonetheless also agreed.

"Then.. then can I try next?" Ivy ask Dahlia. Dahlia looked at Luna who was still dead asleep, and sighed while walking back to her seat muttering. "Who could've thought that Luna would sleep like a pig..."

Ivy then went forward and tried.

"Miss Luna? It's already night... Miss Luna? Look! The sky is already darkening so much... And also it's started getting windy... Also, the birds are starting to get ready to sleep. And... The the cicadas also have started singing, along with the frogs and the wind. The school's sunset also seems so beautiful..."

Belle, Camille and Dahlia: .....It's like we're in a funeral mass.

"And also---" Before Ivy could even continue, Belle already cut her off by saying.,

"Alright, alright, I think it's already enough Ivy-chan~ it's almost time... Now it's my turn already, right girls?" Belle looked at the girls.

Camille and Dahlia unsurprisingly also immediately agreed. With Dahlia thinking.,

If I hear those poetry like words again. I, Dahlia Clover Kent, might as well accompany Luna into her slumber!

With a slumped and dejected vibe she continues thinking.,

Just hearing Ivy's voice paired with that poetry, or what you call that~ Already made me so sleepy!

Belle then finally started her turn. She approached Luna's bed and tried to shake her.,

"Luna? Wake up. It's already almost night time." Belle looked at Luna. Seeing her still asleep... Belle thought of the past, looking for clues in her memories on ways to make Luna wake up and stuff... But after a minutes of thinking and reminiscing. Belle only ended up having one thought.

Fudge! I was never a morning person!!!

Yes, Belle was never a morning person before... She always sleeps in and only wakes up at noon. And by the time she wakes up, everyone was already awake. That includes their hardworking elder sister Luna.

Belle: ....I have a sudden urge to beat up my former self so bad right now...

"Mmo.. Bell....."

Surprised. Everyone, including Belle who just awhile ago started to losing all her hope, all looked at Luna who made a sound.

Luna's eye trembled, and her lips were moving. It seems she were about to wake up. As her lips moved again, everyone tried to catch what she was saying, they leaned forward trying to hear her mumbles clearly.

"Ch... Ch..o"

"What? Say it clearly Luna!"

"Bae..l.."

"Be.. Belle? Miss Belle? I think Miss Luna's calling you Miss Belle."

"Ch.. Cho.. co... Bell...."

"Your right! I think Luna's asking for me~! Here Luna~ I'm here. Belle is here."

Everyone was excited, especially Belle. Because Luna is finally starting to depend on them and opening up to them. Well... not really everyone.

Camille saw Luna mumbling something and also see how the girls reacted to it, saying Luna was calling Belle but Camille begs to differ, because she thinks that the girl's might misread or misheard Luna's mumbling.

'Dezu...'

[Yes host?]

'...Why do I think that Luna isn't really calling Belle?'

[...She isn't. Host, Miss Luna is actually calling for---]

Before Dezu can continue, Luna already beat her to it.

"Choco ball!!!!"

Belle:.....

Dahlia:....

Ivy:.....

Camille:....

[---a Choco sighs... Ball.]

"I, I," Belle looked at Luna wronged. In a fit she grabbed Luna and shook her dramatically. "Why?? Why Luna!?"

Dahlia and Ivy was finally back from there speechlessness, and tried to stop Belle from overreacting, and at the same time stop themselves from laughing from what just happened.

Camille looked at the infamous beauties of the entire university, which was now acting like a 3 year old kids, bickering, pushing and pulling each other. Literally just like a 3 year old kids.

Camille sighed, giving up on stopping their antics. In the end she set her eyes on Luna's sleeping visage and step by step approached her. The girls seeing Camille approach stopped playing and looked at Camille.

Camille took a deep breath, and with all her might she shouted.

"Luna... BELLE AND THE OTHERS ARE HERE!!!"

"!!!"

With a jolt, the girl on the bed jumped out of the bed in panic, obviously still half a sleep and half awake.

"Where!? Where!? Fudge I must hide from them you know t-...

.

.

.

.

That?"

Luna went rigid from what she saw. Her sleepiness finally abandoned her as if telling her 'you're on your own kid.' and that made her cry. And so with a stiff smile she greeted them.,

"Hi?"

The girls all saw Luna's little show just now, and this made them more sure to talk to her. So, with a smile that seems so creepy (from Luna's perspective) they greeted her back.

"Hello Luna~"

They all sat down again in their own designated chairs, and Luna was back on the bed waiting for judgement.

She was just, as though, like a kid waiting for her parents scolding. Well behaved and obedient in her actions in hopes it lightens up her sentence.

Camille sighed, breaking the silence.

"Luna... sigh... are you okay?"

"Hm. I'm fine." Luna with her slightly still bowed head answered. Still acting aloof and cold.

Dahlia frowned slightly and asked., "The girls who dumped you with cold water. Who are they? Why did they do that? Why didn't you say? Why didn't you fight bac---"

"It doesn't matter." Luna cutted Dahlia off. Luna raised her head and looked at them. "This is my business, you shouldn't get involve."

"But Miss Luna--" Ivy tried to say something but also got cut off.

"I don't need any help." Luna coldly say.

Everyone was silent and upset.

"But, But aren't we... aren't we friends Luna?" Belle asked trying to smile.

Luna's eyes almost faltered, but still she resisted. She clenched her fists slightly and answered with her cold and even tone.

"Who says so?"

Ivy gasp and her eyes already started watering. Dahlia on the other hand was frowning and upset. Camille only slightly frowned, but Belle on the other hand was beyond word speechless. But still tried to say something when she was cut off by Camille.

"But Luna--"

"It's because of the guys." Camille stated coldly. She wasn't asking Luna but she was stating it.

Luna was surprised for a moment, but a moment was already enough for the others to see it.

"So it was really because of them? Luna it's okay, we don't talk to them anymore. I even told them off al---" Belle explained helplessly.

"It's not because of them."

"Luna, it's okay. We understand, I understand. I already even cancelled my engagement with Damon so--"

"No. That's not it."

"Miss Luna, you don't have to worry... We're here for you. I already asked Madam Brism too to assign me off from Master Liam---"

"That's not... that is not the problem here!" Luna was agitated that she end up standing and raising her voice.

"Then what is it? What is the problem Luna? Why. are. you. Ignoring. Us?." Camille questioned.

"I—"

"If there's no problem, then, why are you running away from us?"

"Why do you hide?"

"Why do you keep us away?"

"Why do you even act as if everything is okay!?"

"Enough!"

The girls was surprised except for Camille.

"What is it Luna? Did I pushed your button? Did I got it right?"

"Shut up."

"What? Surprised that I pulled your mask?"

"Shut up."

"Luna, don't keep running away from the problems."

"I told you to shut up."

"Camille. Stop it already--" Belle tried to mediate.

"No! Luna, you have all the time in this world to face the problem, so why do you run!? Why do you—"

"SHUT UP!!!!!!!!" Luna's eyes were terribly red in no one knows wether it was in anger or pain, there was also lost tears that came out along the way.

"You, don't know anything about me!" Luna spatted. She pushed them away from her as she ran and ran away.

'You don't know anything.

None of you know...

A thing...

About me...

So, how can you say that...

...To me?'

As Luna ran and ran away...

The skies finally darkens...

As she ran and ran her tears keeps falling...

As her body started to get tired...

As her eyes finally turns blurry...

All she knows at that time was her head was hurting...

So was her heart...

But what could she do?

Of course, endure it...

This was of course what a villain should do.

And so as the first star came to view in the night sky...

Luna fainted.
