Don’t Regret It (1)

Anna thought this was probably what it felt like to fall from the heavens straight into hell.

She wanted to find a place, somewhere where one could vent a type of melancholy, anger, fear…..but the demon was right in front of her. She couldn’t let him think there was anything unusual with her.

She could play this demon perfunctorily based on the premise that he does not know that she could see him; as long as he knew that she had long seen through him and would not be tricked no matter what he said or did, then she was afraid he wouldn’t care to follow the rules.

And he must abide by the rules, which were the only thing guaranteeing her survival.

Anna's expression of horror was abruptly twisted into surprise. She knew that her expression was unnatural, but this was the best she could do.

“Good day, my honorable lord!”

Rothgarr took note of Anna’s brief expression of fear when she saw him, but he didn’t think too deeply into it; he only took it as her being scared by his sudden appearance out of nowhere.

He got control of this body last night, and it was full of abundant elemental power. He was no longer in the weak, chicken-like body of Parrish, so his current mood was not bad.

Ulysses, a four-star mage and second son of the Duke, was a completely different person from Parrish. He had an excellent affinity for the element of fire, but his personality was the opposite of the enthusiasm represented by fire. He was arrogant and indifferent, focusing diligently on spiritual power and the cultivation of magic arts, and rarely interacted with women.

Therefore, Rothgarr could not get help from Ulysses' memory to gain the favor of women. But he thought that since Anna had chosen Ulysses as her target, he didn't need a slick tongue.

Thinking that he could finally be done with Anna after today, Rothgarr’s mood improved greatly. He looked at Anna with a warm expression on his face and asked, “You want to become my student?”

I want to be the student of the genius mage, not the student of a malicious demon like you!

Anna pushed back the word “no” and donned a look of surprise in her face, “Yes!”

Yesterday, Anna thought that this demon didn’t show his face because he was scared of the four-star mage. Now she knew, she couldn’t be any farther from the truth.

Not only was this demon not afraid of the four-star mage, he could even possess him directly. With this information, Anna was certain that he was more powerful than a four-star mage.

She used to think that this demon was the weaker one among other demons, but now it seemed that this was not the case at all! He must have been nearby last night, heard her talking to the real Ulysses, and later possessed Ulysses' body.

But very quickly, Anna recovered her scattered thoughts.

Even if this demon was very powerful, he was still bound by the rules. It was clear that the rules were powerful, and so she should actually be more at ease.

Rothgarr said: "I can accept you as a student if you promise to marry me. This is your only chance, as I will be leaving tomorrow."

After he finished speaking, he looked at Anna, waiting for her to agree ecstatically.

Ulysses was different from Parrish; he had to leave once his injury was healed. This human woman had no more opportunities, so she must make a decision now.

Other than accepting his proposal, how could she have any other response?

Parrish was a playboy, so Anna had to use other means to gain his sincerity, but Ulysses was not. If she missed this opportunity, then it would really be gone. Rothgarr knew that she was a smart person and would not make mistakes in this kind of thing.

Anna was not surprised at what the demon said in Ulysses’ body.

He was determined to harvest her soul.

Anna knew that she could not refuse too obviously. After listening to the demon, she appeared pleasantly surprised and hesitated for a while. After "contemplating" for a long time, she said: "Honorable lord, I really want to be your student...but I can't marry you. I'm just an ordinary maid, and am not worthy of your noble status."

Rothgarr frowned upon hearing Anna's refusal.

Was this her cleverness and cunning? Did she not hear that he had to leave tomorrow?

"Do you really feel this way?" Rothgarr didn't bother to recall Ulysses' memory. At this time, Ulysses's extreme lack of experience would not help at all. He stared at Anna, his tone a little harsher. “I will leave tomorrow. You will never encounter such an opportunity again."

Anna thought to herself, if he really left tomorrow, she would definitely worship him every day and thank him for not killing her.

But now, she could only use the best acting skills of her life. She showed reluctance, but in the end, firmly said: "My honorable lord, although I am very sorry that I cannot be your student, I really cannot accept your proposal and dirty your reputation."

By now, Rothgarr was finally convinced that Anna did not misunderstand anything. When he thought he knew enough about her thoughts, her response still exceeded his expectations.

What exactly was her objective?
