Rejected the Demon’s Marriage Proposal Thousands of Times Chapter 23.4

Holy Son in Danger (4)

Anna tried meditation for a while in front of Dubian, but after nothing still, she could only return home disappointed.

On the other side, the welcoming banquet at the Earl's estate had just begun.

When Rothgarr arrived at the banquet, he learned that Anna's new goal was the Holy Son from the temple.

His skill of "possession" had some restrictions on the use of it, and very strong mental power or strength would affect the success rate of possession. He had tried it once on Balan, and even if Rothgarr had forced Balan to open up and let him possess him, it would not have succeeded.

The body of a pure light affinity increased the failure rate even more. The burning pain attribute of the light element would make him very uncomfortable in the possession state, though it would not hurt him. His current strength was indeed only half that of when he was in the Demon Realm, but even so, a four star mage was nothing in his eyes.

When he was in the Human Realm, the only thing he was afraid of was a five-star mage.

The Holy Son named Victor Kosos Sylavi, a pure light affinity, four-star priest with very strong mental power, was a hard nut for Rothgarr to crack.

It was not difficult to kill this Holy Son, but possession was another matter.

When Rothgarr possessed Ulysses in the past, it was because Ulysses' mental power was damaged that he could easily succeed. But this Holy Son was full of mental energy, which made it difficult for him to succeed.

Rothgarr sat on the side of the long table with a cold face, and occasionally glanced at the Holy Son who spoke to Earl Wilson in a graceful yet removed manner.

If Anna really wanted to make a move on this Holy Son, and it was too difficult for Rothgarr to possess him, then he would just kill the Holy Son.

Anna went to work at the Earl estate as usual the next day.

She was very energetic today. After Dubian confirmed that she could meditate lying down, she went back and continued to meditate while lying in bed.

——When she tried it, she was convinced that Dubian was right; it was way too easy to fall asleep holding this posture.

Because she emptied all distracting thoughts and lay very comfortably, she fell asleep very fast, and she was very energetic the next day.

Meditation was truly a boon for patients with insomnia.

When she arrived in the kitchen, Anna heard the maids talking about the demeanor of the Holy Son in low voices; all of them were flushed with a gleam in their eyes.

She didn't know who said: “It’s a pity that the Holy Son must serve the goddess all his life.”

The regret in the tone of the speaker was so obvious that Anna couldn't help but glance over.

"Such a beautiful and pure man..." The speaking maid continued with emotion, "I really want to..."

Halfway through, she hurriedly stopped. The other maids seemed to understand what she meant, and their expressions were subtle to each other.

Anna understood them. Who didn’t want such a pure man like him to don a look of love?

Just thinking about it felt stimulating.

But he was the Holy Son who served the goddess. If anyone really spoke out their inner thoughts, they would be blaspheming the gods. Even if they did not die, they would still ‘die’ a social death.*

[Dying a  “social death” means to be outcasted, excluded, blacklisted, often for committing a serious crime or doing something against the status quo.]

Anna recalled the Holy Son she had seen yesterday. If she was sitting on a soft sofa at home, watching on her mobile phone while eating cut fruits, she would think that, too.

But now, she only loved gold coins and only wanted to become a mage.

At 8:30 in the morning, Anna punctually  left for the small building where the demon lived.

On the road, she saw a maid stop frequently at a small building where she stood on tiptoes to look over. Anna presumed that this was the place where the Holy Son lived. It was not far from where the demon lived.

She thought it was good that they lived so close; it would be best if the two of them could get into a fight.

If they fought, it meant that the Holy Son could see the demon.

The first sentence the demon spoke when Anna saw him was, "You like the Holy Son?"

Was he so straightforward?

Anna denied it. "You’ve misunderstood."

Rothgarr sneered, and he knew she wouldn’t tell him the truth.

"The Son must remain pure for life; he will not be tempted by you."

If Anna had a winning complex, she would definitely accept the provocation of the demon at this time, and drag the Holy Son down into The Abyss.

But she didn't.

She just wanted to see the Holy Son blast away the demon.

"I know. I don't have such terrible, blasphemous thoughts." Anna flatly refuted.

Rothgarr thought that she usually didn't have much awe toward the gods, and he certainly didn't believe her words.

You dare not blaspheme? Heh.

He decided not to kill the Holy Son. He would beat the Son half to death, and then possess him. He wanted to see if she would still ‘dare not blaspheme’ when the Holy Son took the initiative to seduce her.
