Birthday Banquet (3)

“Okay, thank you Mage Dawkins, I will definitely come tomorrow!” Anna hurriedly made an appointment with Dawkins and left the potion lab in a happy mood.

It was already 7:30 in the evening, but because the preparation of some potions in the Association took a long time, some mages were used to working in the middle of the night, so whether it was the potion lab or the meditation room, both were open at night.

Anna went to the meditation room, meditated for around half an hour, recovering most of her mental strength. She then planned to walk slowly to Natalie’s house according to the address on her invitation.

Unexpectedly, Anna had just walked out of the gate of the association when she saw the door of a carriage parked next to it open, revealing Raymond’s handsome and expressionless face.

“Get on.”

Anna was rather happy that she didn’t have to walk over by herself. She walked over to the carriage quickly. Just as she was about to get on the carriage with the help of the handrail, she saw the demon stretch out his hand in front of her.

She looked up. The demon looked at her coldly, as if the hand he extended was not his own.

Anna paused before smiling. She grabbed the demon’s hand, and was easily lifted onto the carriage with his strong pull.

“Thank you for specially coming here and waiting for me.” She sat firmly in the seat opposite the demon and smiled sweetly.

Rothgarr knocked on the wall of the carriage to signal that the driver could start moving. The carriage moved quickly. Then, he looked back at Anna and said coldly, “It was on the way.”

Anna’s smile didn’t falter. She changed her words and said: “Oh, then thank you for stopping by to pick me up.”

Rothgarr was not an unreasonable demon. In the afternoon, he had already seen the non-threatening two-star mage, and he was angry with Anna only because of an unspeakable guilty conscience, so he actually went home and meditated for a few hours to recover his mental power. Then he returned to the entrance of the Association.

It was only five o’clock in the afternoon when he arrived, and he had waited until now at half past eight, without the slightest impatience.

It was only when he saw Anna that he thought of the displeasure before he left, and subconsciously reacted coldly. It could be seen that Anna seemed to be completely unaware of his unhappiness when he left before, and he was a little annoyed.

He simply stayed quiet and said nothing.

Anna had been busy all day, and her hair was a little loose. Seeing that the demon didn’t pay attention to her, she didn’t take the initiative to speak. She just untied her hair and tied it back into a centipede braid. Because there was no mirror, she didn’t know what her face looked like, but after thinking about the appearance of the female mages she saw in the association, she felt that it didn’t matter.

The number of female mages in the association was slightly smaller than that of male mages. Compared with ordinary noble girls, they paid less attention to appearance and focused more on refining their magic. Of course, because most female mages were nobles after all, no matter how little they cared for their appearance, they still looked very elegant. But if someone spent a whole day practicing spells or preparing potions, their appearance would definitely not look great. She often saw female mages in the meditation rooms and the potion labs with unattractive appearances.

Although most mages were nobles, they were somewhat different from ordinary nobles, and some of the requirements and rules of the nobles did not apply to mages.

Anna quickly sorted out her appearance and looked at the demon again. Although he looked pale, his handsome face and stern temperament made him look noble and arrogant.

He was a handsome man who could attract the noble ladies and madams.

Anna snickered. She was curious if later, there would be a lady who didn’t know how to dead body language. After all, it was still acceptable in this era for noble madams to keep one or two lovers by her side. His beauty and aura made him highly coveted.

But if such a thing happened, of course she would save him. After all, she couldn’t let him flip the table in anger.

Anna’s sneaky glances didn’t escape Rothgarr’s eyes. He didn’t stop her, pretending he didn’t see. However, his mood subtly improved.

The carriage arrived at Natalie’s house, Baron Wright’s manor, stopping just outside the gates.

Baron Wright’s manor was not large, so there was not enough space for guests to park their carriages. Many of the carriages could only be parked outside the manor, but the number was not large enough to block the road.

After all, Baron Wright was just a baron, and this was just the birthday banquet of the youngest daughter in his family. If it was not for the opportunity to make contacts, he would not use the name of the youngest daughter, a mage, to throw a birthday banquet with great fanfare. But even so, those that were able to make it were not individuals of special status either.

Rothgarr and Anna got out of the carriage together and handed the invitation to the butler at the door. After glancing at the invitation, the butler hurriedly and respectfully led the way: “Respectable Mages, please come with me, this way.”

Anna knew that his respect was for the demon, but she didn’t care. She followed him inside, looking at Natalie’s home with novelty.

Of course, this place could not be compared with the Earl’s manor in Blue Rock City, where Anna once stayed. The Earl’s manor was a mansion, while this place was a large villa at best. Past the gate was a small garden decorated with green plants and flowers, followed by the main gate.
