Reality (1)

Rothgarr looked at Anna’s ‘innocent white rabbit’ appearance and couldn’t help but sneer.

Humans were truly disgusting, no matter how dirty they are, they can pretend to be as pure as a unicorn*.

[*The unicorn represents nobility, haughtiness, and purity. Unicorns describe people who are afraid to socialize and stay away from the world.]

Rothgarr tapped his fingers on the tabletop, and his eyes flashed with harsh light.

“If you don’t want to humiliate my reputation, then you shouldn’t have accepted my help yesterday.”

Anna was taken aback, and even Waldo was a little surprised. Both of them could hear the malicious intent in his words, but Vodor thought that he had heard wrong, while Anna was worried that the demon was planning to stop the pretense.

“…I’m sorry, I was too selfish, and neglected this because I wanted to work in the kitchen too badly,” Anna said sincerely while in deep thought.

She couldn’t let this demon give up the pretenses because she didn’t know what he would do, and she didn’t have the guts to find out… So, did she need to coax him right now?

Anna plucked up the courage to look at the demon, and found that he was staring at her. She resisted the urge to look away, and held her breath. When she felt her face reddening, she hurriedly lowered her head and said: “I will clarify with everyone so that they don’t misunderstand.”

She had to let the devil misunderstand, and think that she had some feelings for him and that he still had a chance, so as to prevent him from letting go of all pretenses.

Rothgarr took note of all of Anna’s performance, and what he came to was exactly part of the conclusion that Anna wanted him to draw…

There was no doubt that this human woman had long been fascinated by this body and Parrish’s status, but she was too ambitious. She wanted too much, and thought she was smart enough. She was barking up the wrong tree.

Her methods may be useful to human men, but who told her to be unlucky, and encounter him?

Rothgarr put away his own feelings, put on Parrish’s fascinating smile, and said affectionately: “Of course not, my dear. I said that just now just to make you understand that you do have feelings for me. You may not have noticed it yourself, but I can feel it.”

Anna lowered her head and said, “Perhaps you are right, Young Master. But I’m just a maid and don’t want to think too much.”

Anna, who looked respectful on the surface, couldn’t help but complain in her heart.

His face changed so quickly; even if one couldn’t see the demon hidden in his body, only mentally-ill people would like him!

Rothgarr withdrew his eyes, satisfied this time.

At least a little progress has been made. He was not in a hurry.

When she felt like her plan was foolproof, she would naturally respond to his “marriage proposal,” and at that time, he would give her a surprise.

Rothgarr slowly ate his breakfast. He didn’t need to eat, but Parrish’s body needed it, and he had to use this body.

When he was finished, Anna quietly packed up everything, and left after saluting. Waldo followed her to the door.

The small building where Rothgarr lived was near the garden. He poured himself a glass of Laurent Perrier wine. Sooner after, he saw Anna below leaving alone with the food container.

She was stopped by three maids shortly after she walked out. Rothgarr raised his brows slightly. He recognized one of them as the maid he was experimenting with that day. Her name seemed to be something like Abigail.

Parrish himself had very good hearing. Rothgarr could hear their conversations as long as he gently pushed open the glass window. After listening for a while, he sneered and went downstairs.

After Anna walked out of the small building where Parrish lived, she breathed a sigh of relief. She was under a lot of pressure from dealing with the demon, who was not very kind.

Not long after she walked out, three maids appeared in front of her, blocking her path.

“You’re that newcomer Anna, right?” The blonde Abigail raised her chin with her hands on her hips akimbo. No matter if it was the curve of her breasts or her waist line, it was hard to look away.

Anna glanced at the three maids. They all had their own characteristics, but all of them, without exception, were beautiful and arrogant.

Most importantly, they were full of hostility towards her.

Anna smiled a friendly smile: “Yes.”

Abigail, who was the leader of the group, looked up and down at Anna. She had a look of disdain on her face: “Her looks aren’t even all that.”

Another maid with long pale blonde hair covered her mouth and smiled idiotically: “Yes, even if compared to me, it’s a far cry.”

The last maid with brown hair glanced at Anna, raised her chin in disdain, and asked her condescendingly: “I’m asking you, are the rumors true?”

Anna didn’t want to get into conflict with these maids. Before, she had no scruples about Lily because Lily had been eliminated and was not in the earl’s mansion. But these maids had arrived before her, and it would be unwise for her to fall out with them.

“I don’t know what the rumors are, but I know that every rumor has its fabricated parts, and some are even made up.” Anna said sincerely.

Anna’s words obviously failed to convince the three of them.

The blonde Abigail glanced at the food box Anna was holding, and said angrily: “You just came out from where Young Master Parrish was, didn’t you? Young Master Parrish doesn’t need a new maid like you at meals. Why were you called to serve?”

“Yes, did you use some method to seduce Young Master Parrish?” Kelly with pale blonde hair frowned and stared at Anna, but there was still a trace of desire hidden in her question.

The brown-haired Fiona was much simpler. She sneered and stepped forward, raising her hand to teach Anna a lesson.
