We’ve Both Changed (1)

Rothgarr’s tone was a bit cold. Anna coughed lightly and said, “I got it.”

At least, she didn’t regret what she was doing right now.

Rothgarr only glanced at her before walking on.

Anna quickly followed him.

When she got to the kitchen, Anna found that the food she had stored before she left had not gone bad. She was surprised for a moment, but thinking it through, she hadn’t even been away for a week, and tubers and roots usually could be stored for a long time.

Rothgarr didn’t need to eat food. He just watched from the side. Anna made her own food as usual, and after eating, she went to see Gray Gray and White Fur.

Although it wasn’t long before she left, Anna originally thought that she would never see Gray Gray and White Fur again, so seeing them again now, she felt as if they had reunited at long last.

She patted Gray Gray’s head. On the side, White Fur also squeezed over, pushing Gray Gray away with its buttocks. White Fur lowered its head and placed it on her palm.

Gray Gray was much smaller in size than White Fur. Even though White Fur didn’t use much strength, Gray Gray rolled for a long distance before stopping. After standing up in a daze, it squeaked angrily at White Fur. It rushed back, jumping onto White Fur’s back stomping on it repeatedly.

Gray Gray’s weight was nothing to White Fur, but White Fur thought that Gray Gray’s Huihui’s behavior was a provocation and an insult, so White Fur immediately twisted its body, trying to shake off Gray Gray.

But Gray Gray’s claws were used to dig through soil and could also hold onto the fur on White Fur’s body. Although it squeaked loudly, there was no sign of it being thrown off.

Anna watched from the side, and couldn’t help showing a smile.Rothgarr stood on the side. Seeing Anna’s expression, he thought that maybe it wasn’t a waste of time for him to bring this rat and these spike pigs back.

After eating and taking a small break, Anna went back to the study to continue reading the books Rothgarr found for her, and asked him some questions from time to time.

After several questions were answered satisfactorily, she couldn’t help it in the end and said, “You have finally learned how to teach others.”

Rothgarr frowned. “What do you mean?”

“When you possessed Ulysses…you taught me to death.” Anna said, “At that time, I tried my best to memorize what you taught as soon as possible, afraid that one slip up would anger you to the point of you killing me…”

When Rothgarr heard Anna’s words, he also remembered the events at that time. Those events were only half a year ago, but it seemed a long time ago.

He sullenly said, “Did you take in that dark mage at that time?”

Anna: “…” It was her fault; she shouldn’t have brought up such a dangerous topic.

At that time, if Dubian hadn’t taught her literacy in advance, she would never have been able to keep up with Rothgarr’s teaching. But of course, she wouldn’t tell Rothgarr that truthfully.

“At that time, he was the one who caught me first. I also brought him food from time to time in order to earn some gold coins and knowledge.” Anna said lightly, and suddenly pointed to a page in the book, “What does this mean?”

Anna’s way of changing the subject was not very clever, but Rothgarr remembered that when he was watching the dark mage and Anna as they headed to Black Cloud City, the two were actually not too close, so he let go of the subject and glanced at where Anna had pointed to, answering her question.

Most of the books in this world were short, and Anna quickly absorbed their material. After a whole day, she more or less finished the books that Rothgarr had found for her. Sleep helps consolidate memories. Anna didn’t push herself anymore, and got ready to go to sleep.

But then she had to face a realistic and urgent problem: while she was still thinking about what she had learned during the day, she opened the door of the room where she used to live out of habit, but Rothgarr grabbed her wrist, dragging her straight to his room.

Anna looked at Rothgarr, then at the large bed, with some hesitation.

She managed to avoid it yesterday, but it looked like she couldn’t avoid it today. Becoming more powerful wasn’t something that happened in one or two days. She would be training under his guidance for a long period of time, and she was the one who initially promised to give him the greatest satisfaction.

Although that was when she had thought that she would not be able to escape the result of doing it no matter what.

Anna felt that she was a little in too deep. She had already benefited from Rothgarr and accepted his teaching; she should fulfill her promise. But he had signed a soul contract with her, and she understood his feelings, so she was unwilling to sleep with him with this transactional mentality.

She knew she was being unreasonable…but she just didn’t want to do it now.

Anna was very reluctant on the inside, but she was too embarrassed to go back on her word. Thus, she could only push it off as long as she could. She said, “My things are all next door…I’ll wash up first and then come back.”

After Anna finished speaking, she turned and left, but her heart was in her throat for fear that Rothgarr would suddenly stop her. But he didn’t, and she let out a long sigh of relief as she left his room.

Anna hid in the bathroom of her room to take a shower, heart conflicted while she showered.

She didn’t think it was fair to Rothgarr to sleep with him with this transactional mentality, but it also wasn’t fair to him if she refused to honor their deal, especially after he had toiled over teaching her today. She thought long and hard about it; whether she slept with him or not, it seemed like it would still be unfair to him.
