Human Realm (6)

“Have you ever seen The Abyss?” Bishop Christopher asked.

Anna said: “I’ve seen it before, and I’ve been in it before. The place is chaotic, directionless, and hard to escape from.”

Bishop Christopher frowned because this description reminded him of a different space called “demon eye” mentioned in the report of the investigation team sent by the Vatican to the inside of the life and death line, and a red-clothed priest took the risk to enter it. He came out with half his life. After talking about the situation in the “demon eye”, he died.

This made the entire Vatican realize the seriousness of the matter, and only then did they find a way to send people to the Demon Realm. This was a mission of great danger. Bishop Christopher took the initiative to ask to be a part of it. He thought that his trip was likely to be a disaster, but the final result was much better than he expected.

Capturing the demon was not part of the plan initially. Their team was mainly investigating the situation in the Demon Realm to figure out what was going on. They brought back Anna, who seemed to know a lot about the Demon Realm and The Abyss, and she was willing to talk. This was their biggest gain. And what she said matched up with what they knew as well.

Bishop Christopher briefly talked about the Vatican’s discovery inside the line of life and death, and especially the situation of the “demon eye”. He told Anna that the demon eye was gradually expanding.

Anna frowned and thought for a while and said, “If things go on like this, will the demon eye swallow the entire Human Realm? ”

The “demon eye” in the line of life and death was too similar to The Abyss. What was the relationship?

“No one knows.” Bishop Christopher said, “The Pope believes that this is probably a conspiracy of the Demon Realm, who wants to turn the entire Human Realm into the same environment as the Demon Realm, so as to occupy the Human Realm. ”

Although there was a teleportation portal between the Human Realm and the Demon Realm, only the grand dukes had it. Moreover, the environments of the Human Realm and the Demon Realm were too different. Demons could not run rampant in the Human Realm, and it was difficult for human mages to be arrogant when in the Demon Realm. Therefore, the two sides actually had no value in occupying each other’s space.

But if the environment of the Human Realm was changed, the Demon Realm could take over the Human Realm, thus making the Human Realm a part of the Demon Realm.

“Impossible, the Demon Realm is a mess, it’s impossible to do this.” Anna immediately retorted, “Those demons have no interest in occupying the Human Realm.”

Based on what she had seen in the Demon Realm, the Demon Realm as a whole could not be called a civilized society. The demons who were nominally the Grand Dukes of The Abyss may have recruited some demonic creatures to serve them, but there was no clear concept of territory at all, nor was there an army of demonic creatures under control or something. There were just a few creatures scattered around the Demon Realm; why would they want to take over the Human Realm?

Although Bishop Christopher placed importance on the information he got about the Demon Realm from Anna, he naturally didn’t believe her judgment.

Why would the demons tell her what they were planning?

But when he saw Anna’s determined look, he knew that she wouldn’t believe him no matter what he said. Maybe those demons brainwashed Anna in this way.

Bishop Christopher avoided talking about this with Anna, and only said: “The Vatican has sent a special investigation team to Black Cloud City. I hope you can cooperate with the inquiry in the future.”

Anna nodded silently. Of course, she would cooperate. She didn’t want the Human Realm to be destroyed.

Perhaps to avoid suspicion, Bishop Christopher did not ask Anna any more questions afterwards, and he did not even talk to her alone during the subsequent journey.

Anna felt much more comfortable in the rest of the journey because her confinement circle was expanded to cover the entire carriage. As long as she was in the carriage, she didn’t need to have her hands bound.

After that, they arrived at Black Cloud City.

Black Cloud City was a happy place for Anna, but it was also a sad place. She entered the city in a carriage, and their final destination was the church in Black Cloud City.

The place where Anna got off the carriage was in the back of the church. When she arrived, she was locked in a room equipped with a confinement circle. After staying in the room for more than an hour, the door opened, and someone came in and put a bracelet on her, tied her hands behind her back, and took her out.

Quite a few people escorted Anna, bringing her into a hall. The hall was magnificent. Inside stood a full-body statue of the Goddess of Light. Several cardinals, including Bishop Christopher, stood in line. On the side were also several mages garbed in mage robes. Several of them had participated in the Demon Realm trip.

And beside those cardinals, stood an acquaintance of Anna, the silver-haired Holy Son Victor who had been possessed by Rothgarr.

Anna roughly counted a total of ten or so five-star mages present. With such a formation, it would be useless even if several demons came to fight.

Therefore, she was untied after she came in, but the confinement bracelet remained. As for the bracelet Rothgarr gave her, it had already been confiscated.
