Golden Agent of the Adonis (39)

During this period of time, the Director was so worried that his hair fell out a lot. He often invited actors to audition for the role, but the results were all unsatisfactory. Yesterday, Chu Xiang contacted him through someone he knew in the circle and recommended Fang Zhenxuan to him before showing the newbie’s photo.

Needless to say, Fang Zhenxuan’s appearance and temperament really fit the character’s image. It’s just that Chu Xiang was involved in scandals at the time and the Director was really afraid of those since he didn’t want to get involved at all. Fang Zhenxuan was still a newcomer and had never filmed a scene in his life, so it was basically impossible to meet his requirements.

It was Chu Xiang who talked with him about many ways to promote TV dramas. She assured that the rumors would be dispelled, so he agreed to let her bring Fang Zhenxuan over for a test run. Anyway, what Chu Xiang wanted was to give Fang Zhenxuan a chance to audition, so technically, he still had to check if the kid could pass. Since Chu Xiang had given him a bunch of ideas, he didn’t feel too bad about not repaying her good deed by providing her an opportunity.

By the time Chu Xiang successfully pushed Fang Zhenxuan towards his fast track to stardom, he was actually looking forward to this audition. As soon as he arrived, the Director immediately suspended the filming process and asked Fang Zhenxuan to audition a segment of the drama right away.

Auditions were generally held in a room with very few people, so the pressure of being interviewed by the entire crew was undeniably stressful for a newcomer. However, the Director also had his concerns. They were in a hurry to redo the scenes this time, so they didn’t have time to allow the newcomers to adapt to the crew. If Fang Zhenxuan couldn’t adapt to performing relaxedly under the eyes of everyone, then he wouldn’t be able to use him no matter what.

Chu Xiang stood beside the Director and Fang Zhenxuan smiled slightly, “Let’s start. Do what you practiced yesterday and there won’t be a problem.”

Fang Zhenxuan nodded and walked to the open space that was across from the Director. He was not going to be nervous from the number of people around him. For those who study law, being nervous in front of people was the worst possible state to be in. Besides, he had participated in so many debates and speeches, so this kind of scene was not unfamiliar to him at all. It’s just that he had never acted before, so it was inevitable that he would be a little worried.

He glanced at Chu Xiang. She didn’t seem to appear sick in the slightest, but he knew that Chu Xiang still wasn’t feeling well. With such a hard-won resource, he couldn’t afford to let Chu Xiang down and he wouldn’t allow himself to miss such a good opportunity either.

Fang Zhenxuan took a deep breath, turned his head and entered his performance state.

Chu Xiang watched his acting carefully. She was very accurate in her preparation since what the Director wanted to try out was one of the two clips that she had selected for Fang Zhenxuan to try out. They had practiced this clip hundreds of times the night before and even though he was a newcomer, she had polished these two clips to be excellent.

She turned her head slightly to look at the Director. Sure enough, the Director’s expression became excited— solving such a huge issue in one go and not needing to give that high of a salary to a newcomer in exchange for good skills, wouldn’t he be happy?!

After Fang Zhenxuan finished the audition, the Director said, “You aren’t bad at all! Are you really a newcomer? Have you never been exposed to acting before?”

Fang Zhenxuan returned to Chu Xiang’s side before he nodded and smiled, “I’ve never acted before and this is my first time, but I quite like it.”

The Director smiled and said, “Very good, you have a good aura. Newbies these days are so powerful now, putting us old guys under a lot of pressure.”

Chu Xiang said with a smile, “If Director Chen is under pressure, what can others do? I heard that this drama is very well-produced. With Director Chen as the lead, this show can surpass the other dramas of similar styles. If our Zhenxuan could learn from Director Chen, we would be really lucky.”

Director Chen waved his hand and kept his mouth closed in joy, “You are too good at talking. Alright, the audition is over! Let’s start filming Zhou Yanjun’s scene today, Little Chu, you know of my situation here as well, right? Think that you can cooperate with our time today?”

“Of course I can. Thank you, Director Chen. I will invite everyone to dinner after work is over today, so that Zhenxuan can get to know everyone well and ensure that this work can be filmed with better chemistry as well. What do you think, Director Chen?” Chu Xiang sent out the invitations with a smile.

Director Chen glanced at his watch. Thinking that it would be a good thing for the newbie to get acquainted with the crew, he nodded, “Sure, but the crew finishes work late today and we’re in a hurry. Are you up for it since you just came out of the hospital?”

“There’s no problem at all. Speaking of Director Chen, your drama is not only the starting point of Zhenxuan’s acting career, but also my new starting point. We are destined to have fun tonight.”

“Hahaha, alright then. Little Chu is smart and straightforward. I can only hope the rest of my days can be as happy as this one.”

When the Director was in a good mood, the crew naturally relaxed as well. They all knew that the shocking incident of the previous day involved an entire day of turmoil involving the actor and actress. Therefore, no one expected that the ultimate beneficiary for them would end up being a manager and a newcomer.
