RING Of Fate

Chapter 3 - Ling Yang 2

Ling Yang was a boy aged 17, and topped 1.82 meters. He was a native of Xiangcheng City, and was now at Grade 3 Class 9 of Shengye Middle School. He had bad grades, so no teachers liked him, especially Yan Weimin, teacher in charge of the class.

Ling Yang's parents both died in an accident when he was 10. He now lived with Ling Shize, his father's elder brother. Ling Shize was the deputy director general of the Bureau of Education of Xiangcheng city, which was deputy department director level. That was why he was able to study in Shengye Middle School with such bad grades.

Shengye Middle School was a famous middle school in Xiangcheng city, and even in the State of Yanhuang, and it was all because of Ling Shize that Ling Yang could be admitted by Shengye Middle School.

Ling Yang was thankful to his uncle. If it wasn't him, Ling Yang was unable to be admitted by Shengye Middle school with such poor grades.

Ling Shize treated Ling Yang well. Ling Yang needed not worry about food and clothing, and even had pin money. The reason Ling Yang kept a low profile at school was that he didn't want to cause his uncle any trouble.

However, he was unable to regard his uncle's home as his own home, as he had a mean aunt-in-law. When his uncle was at home, his aunt treated him well; but when his uncle was not at home, his aunt would scold him with sharp words. Ling Yang was in his rebellious years, so he disliked his aunt very much. That's why he chose to stay in residence.

After school, Ling Yang put his schoolbag back to his dorm and walked to his uncle's house.

Today was Friday, and there were no classes tomorrow and the day after tomorrow. According to the regulations of the Bureau of Education of Xiangcheng city, schools were not allowed to make up missed lessons on weekends, and once been found, schools would be heavily fined. Therefore, even the college entrance exam was within three months, schools wouldn't take up weekends for making up missed lessons.

Actually, Ling Yang didn't want to go to his uncle's home, but he couldn't very well refuse his uncle's kindness.

Ling Shize lived in Zijing Mansion, which was a high-grade residential quarter. In the State of Yanhuang, public servants were well-paid. Ling Shize could receive about RMB 1 million a year including b onus and benefits.

"Knock! Knock!" Ling Yang knocked on his uncle's door.

A beautiful, tall girl opened the door. When she saw Ling Yang, she immediately turned and walked away.

The girl was Ling Xue, Ling Yang's younger female cousin. She was 16 and topped 1.75 meters. She had the model's figure. The Ling Clan must have good DNA, as Ling Yang was tall and handsome and Ling Xue was tall and beautiful.

Ling Xue was also a Grade 3 student in Shengye Middle School, but had much better grades.

Maybe Ling Xue was influenced by her mother, she was very cold to Ling Yang. She never greeted Ling Yang at school; even if Ling Yang greeted her first, she would normally ignore him.

Ling Yang changed his shoes and looked around the living room, but didn't find Ling Shize. So, he asked, "Xue, where is uncle? Hasn't he finished work yet?"

"He has not finished work yet." Ling Xue answered in a cold voice.

"Get it." Ling Ying wanted to leave as he felt under great pressure when getting along with Ling Xue and his aunt.

Ten minutes later, Ling Yang held his bowl and had the supper quietly. Yang Yanli, his aunt-in-law, suddenly dropped her chopsticks and questioned him, "Ling Yang, did you fight with others?"

"Yes." Ling Yang nodded as he didn't expect his aunt knew it. He wondered was it Ling Xue who told his aunt. After all, all students knew he beat Xue Yuancheng.

"You are being so willful. Your uncle has gone out of his way to send you to Shengye Middle School. Could you behave yourself and stop bringing shame on him?"

"I get it. I won't do it again." Ling Yang answered in a low voice, but felt humiliated in his mind.

After supper, Ling Yang left his uncle's home in a bad mood. His aunt's words still echoed in his ears.

On his way back to the dorm, he felt confused as he didn't know where his future was.

He had poor grades, and was even unable to be admitted by the worst college. He knew if he begged his uncle, his uncle would try his best to send him to a good university. But he didn't want to bother his uncle anymore. The driver that killed his parents ran away, and was still at large. He hadn't received any compensation. During the past seven years, his uncle had paid for everything for him, including his tuition fees. Maybe that was why his aunt disliked him so much.

Ling Yang didn't want to be his uncle's burden, and didn't want to rely on other people for a living.

To be honest, he wanted to have good grades and go to a good university, but he was not meant for a good student. The knowledge in the books made him feel sick.

"If only I was a straight A student... Forget it. After I take the college entrance exam, I'm going to find a job in another city. I will never forget uncle's kindness!" Ling Yang thought to himself.

"Ouch! Who is it?" Ling Yang was suddenly knocked on the head, then he heard a sound. A silver ring hit Ling Yang's head and bounced onto the ground. It rolled a distance before it stopped.

Ling Yang bent down, picked up the ring and looked around unconsciously. It was an isolated spot, and there was nobody else here. Where did this ring come from? The heaven?

It was a regular silver ring without any other decorative pattern except for a number "1".

When Ling Yang looked at the number, he fell into a trance. A voice sounded in his ears as if it was from a remote place, "The Ring of Fate has been successfully bound with host Ling Yang. Start activating now!"
