Rise Of House Cason

Chapter 23 - Arthur

Harry and Art soon arrived in front of the Leaky Cauldron with Hagrid already waiting. Entering the dingy pub, Hagrid tried to stop for a quick chat but Art pushed Harry through to the back and tap on the wall with his wand. Harry looked stunned as the wall collapsed on itself, and hesitated when Art stepped through the wall.

"Come on! Lots of shopping to do!" Art encouraged, grabbing his arm and pulling him through. "Welcome to Diagon Alley."

Harry looked around in disbelief, as countless stores and wizards came into view. Art smiled and leaned down, "I had the same look on my face the first time I saw it." Art chuckled.

Harry nodded dumbly, bewilderment still on his face. Hagrid finally came through the hole and caught up with them. "Sorry 'bout that. Just saying hello." he gruffly said.

Art gave him a withering look and said, "Let's get going to Gringotts."

Hagrid nodded and headed off, leaving Harry and Art to follow him. Thanks to Hagrid's size, the path was clear and easy to follow. Soon they arrived at Gringotts and Hagrid said that he had a special parcel to pick up and left Art with Harry's key.

Shaking his head at Hagrid's trusting nature, Art watched Hargrid leave on the trolley cart in the earth. Walking up to the goblin at the front desk, Art said, "Withdrawal from the Cason vault and from the Potter vault."

Art produced both keys for the goblin whose gaze wandered to Harry's scar for a brief moment.

"Follow Griphook." the goblin said, rough and crass.

Harry and Art boarded the cart, Harry couldn't stop staring at the goblin with Art found amusing. The three of them took off deep into the earth.

Soon they arrived at Harry's vault where he gave Griphook the key. Soon the vault opened and Harry's expression became stunned. Mountains of gold could be seen as Art gave Harry a bag.

"Fill it up. Gold ones are Galleons, silver are Sickles and bronze ones are Knuts. 29 Knuts to one Sickle, 17 Sickles to one Galleon. Easy enough right?" Art smiled, handing Harry a duffle bag.

"This is all mine?" Harry asked stunned.

"Every Knut. Now hurry up, no time to waste." Art said, pushing him into the vault. Harry quickly did what he was told and came out carrying a duffel bag full of money.

Seeing Harry struggle with how heavy it was Art smiled and said, "Don't worry, it is about to become much lighter."

Soon the cart started moving again and went deeper, arriving at the large vault of Cason with the Wampus and Re'em on the vault door. Harry looked at the beautiful animals with shock as Art quickly entered the vault, grabbing some money and some new books. He also put the books back he took out from the year before.

After finishing up, they exited Gringotts. Hagrid was standing outside of Flourish and Botts with a beautiful snowy owl. "I had some time so I thought I would buy Harry a birthday present." he said, handing the owl over to Harry.

Harry looked happy but confused at the same time, Art told him that owls are how wizards send letters.

They soon bought all the necessary books with Art buying some books on languages and Harry buying some extra books on Defence Against the Dark Arts. Artland becoming taller once again and had to get new robes and took Harry with him.

Art laughed at Harry who looked very uncomfortable in his wizard robes. They finished shopping for his potions supplies, Art even gave him some advice and told him to read his potion books because Snape was a git and would question him first day. Last but not least, Art took Harry to Ollivanders for his wand.

Entering the store, a soft voice came out from the back, "Ah, Mr. Cason. 13 inches. Red oak and dragon heartstrings. Temperamental. One of my finest if I do say so. Who have you brought with you today?"

"Harry Potter sir. Harry I am going to be across the street while you pick your wand."

"The wand picks him Mr. Cason not the other way around." Ollivander cut in.

Art gave a bitter smile, "Ollivander might seem a little off but he is the best there is."

Ollivander glared at him before focusing on Harry.

Art headed across the street and entered bought some snacks for Dougal. Newt would say that it is unhealthy but Art thought the beast deserved a treat. Soon Hagrid met up with them and told Art he was going to take Harry home. Art said goodbye to Harry and told him that he would see him in school.

Hagrid sped off in his motorcycle with Harry in the sidecar looking terrified. Art soon took out a dirty old boot from his bag and disappeared. Art landed face first with a mouthful of grass. He looked up and saw the familiar Kneazles who rubbed their faces on him. Brushing himself off, he saw Tina at the door laughing at him.

"Welcome back Art."

"Thank you Mrs. Scamander."

"Newt is downstairs. He has been having trouble since you left." she said, giving a rueful smile.

Art hurried downstairs and saw the old man was talking to Dougal.

"He will be back, stop acting like a child." Newt scolded the Demiguise, feeding the Occamy.

Dougal saw Art over Newt's shoulder and let out a happy cry, running towards him and nearly knocking Newt over.

"Bloody hell Dougal!" Newt cursed, steadying himself. He shot a look at Art, "What did you do to my beasts? You leave for one day and they are all up in a tizzy."

Art let out a light laugh, "Sorry Mr. Scamader, I forgot to tell them I wouldn't be here today." He let Dougal climb up on his shoulders. Pulling out the treat he bought in Diagon Alley, he gave it to Dougal who ate it quickly.

"You're spoiling him." Newt said, seeing the treat.

"I apologize." Art said, but it was plain to see he didn't mean it.

Art started to work hard and feed the beasts and with Newt's help they finished quickly. Art only had another two weeks with Newt Scamander until he had to go to France and then back to Hogwarts for another year. As per the promise, Newt was going to take Art to see a Common Welsh Green Dragon in a couple days.

Making sure all the beasts were fed and taken care of, Art waited by the door excitedly. Newt grabbed his hand before they Apparate, feeling the weird sensation of being squeezed through a tube.

They appeared somewhere uninhabited with rollings hills and lush vegetation.

"This male was kicked out of his group many years ago. I found him and brought him here to live." Newt said walking up the hill. Art followed him quickly and gasped at the sight of a dragon.

It was around 16 feet in length and had beautiful green scales, a particularly nasty scar ran across it's left side.

Newt slowly approached the dragon, talking to it all the while, "Hey Arthur, how are you? Getting fatter I see."

The dragon, Arthur, opened its eyes and looked at Newt approaching before shutting his eyes.

"Lazy thing you are. When was the last time you went flying?" Newt criticized, poking Arthur's stomach. Arthur shot flames out of his nose in turn.

Artland slowly walked down the hill and approached the dragon. He didn't send any thoughts or emotions toward the dragon instead he talk out loud.

"Hey Arthur, I'm Artland. Don't listen to this old man, your still in good shape." Art said in a friendly tone.

Artland's words seem to have an effect on Arthur as it lifted his head and looked at Artland curiously. Still walking towards the dragon, Art stuck his hand out. Arthur sniffed the hand before touching his nose to it.

The second they touched, Artland was perfectly able to understand its thoughts.

'Weird little two legger, I feel a deep connection to it.' an old voice grumbled in Art's head.

'We are called humans and I feel a connection as well.' Art spoke loudly in his mind.

Arthur reeled back in shock, breaking the physical contact it had with Art. It stared at Artland intensely wondering if he had imagined what it had just heard. Artland smiled and pointed towards his hand, he also sent a picture of the dragon's nose touching his hand towards the Arthur.

Arthur's eyes narrowed as he stared at Artland and then his hand. Finally it placed his nose against Art's hand.

'Can you hear me two legs?' the old voice asked with hesitation.

'Yes Arthur.'

'What a strange two legs you are… able to communicate with me. Are you part dragon?' Arthur asked.

'No all human. I was born with the ability to touch to beasts.' Art explained.

'A gifted two legs.`` Arthur said checking out Art.

Art smiled and asked, 'Why don't you fly any more?'

'No one to fly with two legs.`` Arthur said, a sad tone crawled into his voice.

'I'll fly with you.' Art said, smiling broadly.

'You?'

Artland removed his hand from Arthur's nose and shifted into a Thunderbird, letting out a loud screech he took off into the sky. Arthur was stunned at first but soon he joined him and flew into the sky. Together they flew high and fast into the sky. Arthur was larger than Artland but Art was quicker and more agile.

After a bit, they both landed back where Newt was waiting. Art shifted back and smiled at the out of breath Arthur.

"Just how many secrets are you hiding?" Newt asked, staring at Art.

Art laughed and patted Arthur's side, taking out his wand and summoning some water for the old dragon.
