Rise Of House Cason

Chapter 95 - Afterward

Newt sat in the stands worrying about Art as he stared at the giant maze in front of him. Both Fleur and Krum had already retired, leaving only Harry and Art left in the maze.

Azura suddenly started to squirm and try to escape Newt. Stopping her, she let out a hiss as she struggled to escape. Her little eyes showed panic and fear as she looked at Newt pleadingly.

"He will be alright." Newt ȧssured her, but still walked over to Dumbledore.

"Dumbledore, something is wrong." he whispered.

Dumbledore looked at him, letting him continue.

"Azura is panicking, trying to run to Art. She has never done this before. I think he might be in trouble." Newt said quietly, not letting the other judges hear.

Dumbledore scowled and glanced at the snake who was still trying to escape. He was about to say something when Harry suddenly appeared with Art. Loud cheers filled the stadium as the students went crazy.

Newt and Dumbledore noticed something wrong as Harry was trying to wake Art up, his front covered in blood.

"HE NEEDS A HEALER!" Harry screamed, looking around desperately.

Dumbledore and Newt ran towards him and quickly saw that Art was severely injured.

"He's back, Dumbledore… Art fought him… I couldn't do anything." Harry said, breaking down into tears.

"ART! ART!" she screamed, fighting desperately against Maxime's large frame.

Fred and George jumped down onto the pitch and sprinted towards Art but were stopped by McGonagall.

"LET US GO!" they screamed, fighting against the spell that held them in place.

"You can't do anything for him, let Dumbledore save him." she said, her own eyes a little wet.

Cedric came next to them and hugged them. "He will be alright… he is Artland." he said quietly, his voice shaking as he looked at Art.

The stadium became silent as they watched Dumbledore make a magical stretcher and sent him off to the hospital wing. Moody had taken Harry away, leaving the pitch empty and desolate.

---

When Dumbledore entered the hospital wing, Madam Pomprey screamed.

"Dumbledore! What happened!?" .

"Poppy, can you heal him?" he asked, quietly.

She immediately started working, casting spell after spell to heal him.

"Severus, I need you to brew a potion for me." she said shortly.

Snape nodded and started to get to work. McGonagall came up and whispered something into Dumbledore's ear which made his eyes go wide.

"I have to go, Poppy. Severus, join me after you finish brewing that potion and bring some Veritasium." Snape glanced at him for a second and nodded.

After the potion was brewed, Snape left but Amelia Bones entered the room. She gasped when she saw the state of Art but didn't interrupt Pomfrey as she worked.

"Bloody hell! My potions and spells aren't working!" she cussed in anger.

She tried again when suddenly Art's body gave off a golden sheen and the wounds started to close very slowly.

"What is going on?"

"I have no idea but he needs to go to St. Mungos." Pomfrey said, looking down at Art.

"I will arrange it." Amelia said, running out of the wing.

---

Artland was soon transferred to St. Mungos while Harry stayed at Hogwarts. When the Ministry of Magic learned that Voldemort was back, they denied it, saying Harry was under stress and didn't see correctly. Dumbledore called him an idiot and told the students at the end of the term speech.

"The Ministry does not wish for me to tell you this, but Lord Voldemort is back. Harry Potter and Artland Cason fought him and escaped. Artland is still in St. Mungos fighting for his life, fighting to live. In the upcoming days I believe that we will all need something to fight for."

Many heads turned towards Harry who was looking down, he seemed to be ashamed of himself and the attention he was getting. The twins and Cedric were clenching their hands in anger and uselessness. Gabrielle was crying into Fleur's ċhėst as she silently cried herself.

---

"Is he awake yet?" Fred asked the healer, standing in St. Mungos.

The term had ended and everyone was sent back home with heavy and fearful hearts. The Daily Prophet wasted no time in saying that Dumbledore was lying and the Dark Lord wasn't back, calling him a senile old man.

"His injuries are almost healed but he isn't awake yet." the healer said.

"Can we see him?" Cedric asked.

"He didn't stop fighting though. Just when I thought he was going to die, he would keep going." Harry said quietly.

The three of them were silent as they slowly entered the room. Artland was covered in bandages on his ċhėst, arms and legs. He had a bit of stubble on his face with his eyes closed tightly.

"Bloody hell Art." George said under his breath.

The three of them gathered around the bed but didn't say anything.

They were interrupted when a couple walked through the door.

"Ah, hello. Fred and George right?" Bella said with a sad smile.

"Yes, Mrs. Sullivan. This is Cedric Diggory." Fred said quickly, letting them through to Art.

"Nice to meet you, Cedric. This is my husband, Tim Sullivan."

"Honour to meet you Mr. and Mrs. Sullivan." Cedric said quickly, "Would you like us to leave so you can spend some time with Art?"

"No no, we have been here for a few days now." she said quietly, looking at Art with sadness in her eyes. "Maybe his friends can wake him up."

The twins and Cedric looked at each other, sad smiles on their faces. They stood next to Art's bed, not sure what to do or say.

"Maybe we should say something?" Fred said, awkwardly.

"Like what? 'Stop your beauty sleep you git'." Cedric whispered back, scolding him.

"Well some of us need it Ced." a hoarse whisper said.

Everyone turned and saw that Art was looking at them with a small smile.

"Artland!" Bella cried, running up to him and holding his face. Tim was beside her, a tear in his eye.

"Hey mum. Don't worry, just exhausted my magic." he said with a pained smile, trying to sit up.

His entire body was wracked with pain, a side effect of his wounds and overdrawing his magic. He would need another week or so to fully recover and return to normal.

"We were so worried Artland. The doctors… er healers said that your wounds refused to heal and that your body was reacting strangely." she said through the tears.

"Mum, can you get me a glass of water please? I am parched." Artland asked hoarsely.

She nodded and quickly left with Tim following her. As soon as his parents left, a dead expression came over his face as he stared at the ceiling.

Cedric had a worried look on his face and approached the bed. "Are you okay, Art?"

Artland didn't answer him and stared at the ceiling. He closed his eyes and sighed, "I lost again, huh?"

The twins glanced at each other before glaring at Art. "You fought the strongest dark wizard and survived, even injuring him and you are sad because you lost!? What the bloody hell is the matter with you!?" George yelled, his voice getting louder and louder.

"You think it was easy for us to watch you appear, covered in blood not knowing if you were alive!? Not being able to fight with you!?" Fred added on, just as angry.

"You sit there and bitch about losing but we almost lost you, your family almost lost you. Grow up Art." Cedric said coldly.

Art's head became lower and lower at every word his friends said to him, not wanting to meet their eyes.

"You weren't there, you didn't see him. He is… so strong. Stronger than I could even imagine." Art said quietly.

"So we get stronger." Cedric said, a smile on his face.

Tim was standing outside the door listening to the twins and Cedric yell at Art, a smile on his face.
