Rise To Stardom: My Villainess

"Welcome, Ember Wang!" the host exclaims after a moment of composing himself.

Immediately, he gestures a woman come and give the muse of beauty her well-deserved bouquet of flowers.

White tulips with its red tips that are akin to have been dipped— it is enclosed in a white craft paper, decorated with golden linings, that enhance its luxurious appeal. Ember sweetly smiles upon receiving the flowers, murmuring her thanks. She is clearly satisfied by the choice of flowers, truly perfect fit for royalty.

Posing for the cameras again, Ember then elegantly strides towards the center of the long table that is specifically reserved for her. As soon as she takes her seat, the press conference is cued to begin.

The host directly cuts to the chase as he announces to every inquirer inside the room that the awaited conference has finally begun. The reporters all start to yell out their questions regarding the woman and the event that is being held for, but the host only chooses the lucky few among them.

Smiling amicably to the audience, the beauty gracefully averts her aurous eyes to the journalist that is fortunate enough to be given the chance to ask questions. Her golden eyes reflect the artificial light, making it brighter than it seems. Swallowing his saliva, he snaps out from the short-lived trance he is in and proceeds to speak.

"Everyone has been wondering why a famous singer such as yourself suddenly decided to change careers into that of an actress when you're already renowned in the world of music," the journalist seems to be in a hurry while taking his time to interrogate the celebrity.

Fearing that he'll lose the chance to complete his words, he ends his statement with a conclusive question, "Are there any reasons for this transition?"

Ember has already expected the question to be asked.

With a smile, she neatly tucks in a strand of her amber hair behind her ear before responding, "I have been flying from one country to another because of concerts and promotions, and I have been starting to yearn for stability which I can't really have as a singer. And so I decided to transition. Though this doesn't mean that I will completely change as a person; I will always be the singer everyone has come to support."

Everyone is silent as they attentively listen to her words.

She smiles and proceeds, "Acting won't make me abandon singing as a whole. I'll come back with an even better version of myself after a few moments, but I want to do something else for now to regain the lost passion and vigor I had six years ago."

Sincerity is clear in her words. It's a well-hidden secret that singing for her has slowly lost its thrill through the years. As a child, singing has always been her passion; but after sacrificing so many things and finally achieving the highest fame any singer can get to, this eventually wears her down. Singing has become a routine to her, just doing it for the purpose to please her fans and not for herself anymore.

To outsiders, the entertainment industry is all about glitz and glamour; but only those within the industry know what lurks beneath all of those.

'Well, with all these things she's going through in her life right now, I'm not exactly sure if I made the right decision of returning here.' Ember smiles and continues to smile despite the emotions she felt otherwise at that moment.

Well, this is showbiz. It's all about fakeness. You cannot show what you truly feel, or else they may use it against you.

The reporter thoughtfully nods his head before taking his seat. The host then calls on another person to take his place. A woman confidently stands up, proceeding to make eye contact with Ember. "Being a famous— if not— the most famous singer of your generation, are there any drama productions that have already offered you any roles?"

A widely-asked question is finally thrown. Many famous singers opt to accept offers immediately after contact. Acting is slightly more long-lasting in terms of popularity and values after all.

Tilting her head to the side, Ember thinks about her reply for a second before eventually resolving to say her honest thoughts about it. "Well, I have been given offers; but I don't think I should use my influence as a singer to widen my connections for my acting career."

Ember doesn't really like it when people assume that she's going to use her established fame as a singer as a stepping stone for acting, so now she is trying to clear out all those ridiculous presumptions.

The reporter nods in understanding.

She smiles and speaks again when there are no contradictions from the audience, "I prefer to audition in a series that I chose myself. It's not fair if I just accept the roles that were given to me as it will only discredit the hard work and dedication of the other actors to get their roles while I just let myself be spoon-fed. Also, I want my acting abilities to be judged fairly. I want to be selected for a role because of my abilities and not for my fame."

"I am not yet a renowned actress after all, and it will be a huge disrespect to all the film and drama enthusiasts if I take on the position without proving myself first," she ends her speech while her golden eyes are still resting on the female reporter.

Everyone can feel her honesty. Now, people are not only astounded by her beauty but also by her dedication. Many famous singers indeed choose the easy way out, but Ember, the most famous singer, didn't. It is certainly different from the assumptions made on her. She is said to have a spoiled attitude, but a spoiled person will never hesitate to accept an offer that will make their lives easier by not having to go through all the troubles in auditioning or she could have also bribed her way to get the role she wants.

The press conference continues with questions being thrown in from left to right. Ember replies to every single one of them with full honesty and confidence. Her straightforward personality yet the politeness she still carries has increased the respect others have for the girl.

The conference is almost nearing its end; Ember is suddenly caught off guard by the question given to her by one of the reporters, "How are you and your fiancé, Alessio Xu? Your busy schedule makes it impossible to see you two together, and everyone has been wondering about your current status with him. Is it doing fine?"

Dating scandals have never been a problem to Ember since her loyal tendencies make it difficult for the opposite s.e.x to approach the beauty. Only Kielle can get through those walls, or if it is needed for work.

"It is doing fine. My fiancé and I are actually doing great." She sends a beautiful smile. Her peach blossom eyes turn crescent-like while a spark of amus.e.m.e.nt rest on those rich golden shades. "As long as no woman tries to steal him away from me, then everything will go smoothly. Well—" Ember gives out a grin. "— if he chooses another woman over me, then wouldn't he be the blind one?"

She laughs, and everyone laughs as if agreeing to her statement. No one of course disagrees. Ember, after all, is famous, rich, witty, and peerlessly beautiful. She's almost flawless, a goddess. Who in their right mind won't be happy and satisfied to have her?

Alessio Xu is also famous for his brilliance. He certainly won't take a side mistress that can only stain his reputation and make people think that he got bad tastes. It's not like finding someone better than Ember Wang is easy after all.

Ember mentally smirks at their reaction and wonders if either of those two people will happen to stumble and see the live broadcast of this press conference. She hopes that they see this and realize that the affairs they have with each other are not a thing that can break her identity down and almost nothing important at all.

She is Ember Wang after all; she won't let such a small matter stop her from living a successful life.

The host soon indicates that the conference has finally come to an end.

Looking at the studio video camera that is located at the center, she gives off an alluring smirk before taking a bow to cue that she is about to leave. Hundreds of light are flashed while various photos are taken of the Muse of Beauty while she departs the room filled with people. The press conference is deemed successful with its purpose being served.
