Robot For A Boyfriend

Chapter 11 - The Walk Home

Kaine lifts up Emily up and she puts her on his shoulders. Emily yelps as she looks around her, now being able to look down on others. "Are you sure this is ok? I'm not too heavy, am I?" Emily asks self concisely. "Are you joking?" Kaine asks, clearly confused. "No, I'm serious!" Emily says defensively. "I was designed to lift over 18 tons, and you are just barely pushing 115 pounds."

Emily pouts and sighs. "Uh, I didn't know you'd be so truthful about that." Kaine looks confused again. "There is nothing to be ashamed of Emily. The average human being is 216 pounds, therefore you are extremely below average. Are you depressed? Have you not been eating enough?" Kaine looks concerned. Emily laughs. "You sound just like my mother." Kaine smiles again. "She seems like a smart female. When may I meet her?"

Emily's face transitions into a slight frown. "She's not alive anymore. She died when I was 12. It's just been me and my dad since then." Kaine frowns as well. "I am sorry. I was unaware of this." Emily lays her hands on his head. "Don't worry, I don't tell everyone. I don't have friends to tell." Emily looks sad for a moment. "I know what will cheer you up! Would you like to go to the movies?" Kaine says enthusiastically.
