Robot For A Boyfriend

Emily has another dream during the night. It was mainly the same, but this time, the figure was kneeling low to the ground, with his double-sided scythe laying in front of him, somehow floating. Just as the last time, as the figure opened it's eyes, Emily woke up, alone in the bed. She walks out into the hallway, still sleepy and in her onesie, looking around, with no signs of anyone. Finally, she hears the sounds of a video game rumble through the house, then the sounds of children celebrating.

Emily walks downstairs to see Trevor playing what looks to be an ancient video game, judging from the graphics. "Unfriggenbelieveable." The game announcer sounds out, making Trevor cackle menacingly. Emily looks over to the kitchen after smelling a warm and inviting aroma. She walks in, seeing Kaine flipping multiple pancakes into the air on plates behind him on the table. Emily sits down at the table and waits patiently for senpai to notice her. Kaine turns to her and smiles. "Hello Emily. Did you sleep well" He says, putting a glass of milk in front of her.

Kaine yells over to Trevor, who does not reply, but rather states focused on his game. Kaine sighs and sits down across from Emily. "I slept ok." She says in response to Kaine's previous question. "I keep having weird dreams, but that's all." She continues, drinking her milk afterward. "Dude, I make BT look good." Trevor says as he now walks to the table, controller still in hand. Emily now takes a bite of her pancake and immediately drops her fork, alerting Kaine. "Em, are you ok? Is the food not to your liking?" Kaine says, showing almost a bit of human emotion in his voice. Emily looks up at Kaine, swallows, and smiles. "That was literally the best pancake I've ever had!" She says, now looking at Trevor, who seems to be mocking her as he eats the pancakes with no change in attitude.
