Ron Weasley: A Noble's Ascension

Chapter 29 - Mykew Gregorovitch.

Ron had followed the same schedule everyday for the last four months and a half, he got up at sunrise, ate breakfast with his Aunt, practiced Magic, had Etiquette lessons, dinner with his aunt, more Magic practice, and ending with free time throughout the evening.

What he found most rewarding were the Magic Lessons she gave him, although Hogwarts had a lot of resources he could use...

(Room of requirement, Philosopher Stone, the Half-Blood Prince's Potion Book, Marauders Map...etc)

It wasn't a school with adequate teachers, it wasn't a place were they'd teach him a fraction of what his aunt was doing so. He'd learned over 10 new spells, albeit the simplest incantation but he now had means to attack and defend himself.

Albeit they weren't a fraction as powerful as hers, but then again he was wandless and much younger. What he needed and had an abundance of was time to train and grow.

The spells he'd learned from his Aunt were; Expulso, Aguamenti, Alarte Ascendare, Confringo, Confundo, Depulso, Diffindo, Aspectu Deflectere, Immobulus, Reducto and Episkey. She'd told him to continue practicing them and gave him a journal with the more advanced incantations.

-

His free time was spent researching as much as he could on Wands and Wand Lore. He'd even written down a short note of what he thought were the most Powerful/Rare combinations that suited him.

"*For the wood; Aspen, Black Walnut, and Cherry. For the Core it's a tie between Thestral Tail Hair and Rougarou Hair. Then comes the Length and Flexibility, the books don't go much into detail into this subject so I guess I'll ask Mykew for his opinion.*"

-

Due to the extensive etiquette lessons he'd taken, Ron's movement, posture, speech all had become elegant and precise.

Thanks to his aunt, his wardrobe was also overhauled with more exquisite and expensive clothes. He believed that he dressed quite well for someone who'd read half the time, yet his aunt bought him new pieces of clothing for every possible event.

Most of the new wardrobe was compromised to compliment his new appearance, since his hair was now crimson he dressed in darker colours, Black, Burgundy, Royal Purple, and an assortment of others.

"*I'm now certain that I don't just act the part, I truly am a Noble now.*"

August 30 1991

Today was an important day, Ron was going to Germany to get his wand, his aunt was able to get them an appointment with the famous wandmaker, Mykew Gregorovitch.

Dressed in a brand new black three piece suit, Ron made his way down to the ground floor. As he did he noticed that his aunt looked paler and was much thinner, he'd seen her health slowly deteriorating and felt saddened by it.

"Aunt, I'm positive that I can find my way to the shop, you should rest and try to recuperate."

"I'm fine Ronald, come I've asked one of the German Family's that have settled down here to let us borrow their Portkey. It'll take us to their summer home in Berlin, where Mykew's shop is located."

"Yes, Aunt..."

He did feel heartache for her since she was his first real teacher, and as the first to know of his real personally. That being said he knew that she would never accept his or anyone elses help, which he respected her for.

Looking at a seemingly ordinary hand mirror, Ron couldn't help but remember the day he arrived to Russia. The nausea and headache he'd gotten from using a Portkey wasn't something he was looking forward to.

"We'll place our hands at the same time, do you understand?"

"I understand."

"Now!"

*SWOO*

Both Lucretia and Ron touched the mirror at the same time, and in the next moment they'd vanished.

-

Berlin, Germany.

Materializing inside a large foyer Ron felt a sense of Deja Vu, as he tried to stabilize himself he remembered that his aunt was Ill. As he quickly turned around, he witnessed as she tried to keep herself standing but he could see her legs shaking.

Not wanting to see her in that state he summoned a chair from the living room and placed it behind her.

Knowing that she'd try to reject it, he called for another and acted as if he was going to hurl.

"Aunt, can I please have a moment to rest?"

"Yes, traveling through Portkeys never was pleasant. We'll have a short break before heading to Mykew's home."

"I thank you, Aunt."

Once he saw her sitting down, he was able to sigh in relief. He still had much to learn from the old Witch, things that were very hard if not impossible to learn in England.

-

"Let's go, remember one should never be tardy to an appointment."

"Yes, Aunt."

Although Mykew Gregorovitch had a shop in Berlin's biggest Magical shopping district he rarely ever opened it, with many saying that he'd closed it for good.

According to his Aunt he still did a few Wands per year but the waiting list was very long and the price was close to triple of any other Wandmaker. When she'd gotten them and appointment it was at his home, so that's where they were going.

"Remember to State the name properly, I hope you practiced your German."

"I have Aunt."

Ron grabbed a handful of yellow shaded Floo Powder and entered the home's onyx chimney.

On his recent trips to different countries, Ron found that they all had a different Floo Powder which produced different colored flames; Green in Britain, Red in Russia and now Yellow.

"Gregorovitch Nachlass!"

-

Being a world renowned Wandmaker, Ron expected to appear in another grand foyer, not a messy and rundown house. He quickly glanced around the small and quaint home which looked nothing like the home of a famous Wandmaker, before his aunt nudged him from behind.

"Don't be so easily surprised, not everyone seeks the same comfort."

"My apologies Aunt, I understand. I'd guess his in a workshop, maybe in the bas.e.m.e.nt? Should I go look for him?"

"You're a Wizard Ronald, don't waste your time doing menial work, if you want something use the appropriate spell if there isn't one, create it. Homenum Revelio!"

Even though Ron felt that she'd casted a spell and felt her magic encase the whole house nothing happened. He was going to ask her why that was until she started walking to the front door.

"I've found him let's go, the sooner we get you a wand the sooner I'll be able to see how far you've improved."

"Yes, Aunt."

"*Homenum Revelio, locates a person? Or people in a surrounding area? I've got to look into that spell might come in useful later on.*"

-

Heading outside they walked a while until they stoped outside a small worship. His aunt used an Amplifying charm and called out the old man, after which the door to the workshop opened.

They went inside where a white haired old man with a thick, bushy beard was handling some blocks of wood. He didn't turn to look at them even once since they'd entered which his Aunt didn't enjoy but said nothing.

"You brat, you're the one that wants a custom Wand? Do you know why Wizards try out already made wands instead of asking one to be made?"

Ron stepped forward and after a light bow answered the man's question.

"It allows for the child to easily find a wand that matches his/her characteristics, because if the wand doesn't match the Wizard's character it leads to difficulty or inability to perform magic."

Hearing his answer the old man stopped what he was doing and turned around to face Ron.

"Smart kid, so if you know all that why'd you come here seeking a customed Wand?"

"Because I think it's bullshit. I don't need my wand to be my partner, neither do I want a simple tool that serves no purpose, or the most expensive decoration to brag about..."

Mykew had created wands for countless people of all backgrounds yet they'd always mention one of the reasons Ron had stated as to why they wanted him to make their wand. Caught up in the moment, he couldn't help but get curious as to what exactly the boy d.e.s.i.r.ed in a Wand.

"Then what do you want?"

"A sword, a sword that will destroy everything in my path, a sword that I will brandish against God and Devil alike. A sword that creates from destruction, and I don't believe anyone has ever created something like that before."

"*This kid...*"

"I'm guessing you have an Idea already? The type of Wood, Core, Length and Flexibility?"

Ron summoned the small note he'd written from his Item Pouch and began to discuss with Mykew. His aunt didn't want to simply sit around and wait for them so she returned to the main house.

-

"Alright let's start with the Wood, Aspen is known for it's outstanding charmwork, Black Walnut is powerful but also tricky to master, then Cherry, one of the rarest woods one can find and truly powerful it's best used for transfiguration magic."

"My initial inclination was towards Black Walnut, but I think after thinking it over I'll go with Cherry Wood."

Mykew nodded as he wrote it down and explained his choices for the Core.

"I see you chose two of the rarest Cores and most powerful, Rougarou Hair has great affinity with dark magic, while Thestral Tail Hair is possibly the most powerful Core but also the most unstable."

"For the Core, I'm choosing the Rougarou Hair, my magic should flow not be interrupted."

"Finally we've come to the Length and Flexibility of the Wand, you didn't have anything written down for this."

"That's because I couldn't comprehend it's value to the Wand, so I was hoping that you could explain it to me."

"The length and flexibility of the wand are in large part in correlation with it's Wizards personality. You should ask yourself, what type of person am I?"

"One who d.e.s.i.r.es Wealth, Power, and to Rule."

"The I suggest, 15" and Unyielding. That will perfectly manifest your three d.e.s.i.r.es."

"That's perfect."

Ron nodded in agreement and exited the workshop after Mykew told him to come back tomorrow to pick up his wand.

So he went back to the house and left with his aunt, with the promise to return tomorrow.
