Ruler Of Iron And Flesh

Inian wanted to be alone in one of the first cars under the pretense of 'resting.' His mind was racing a million kilometers an hour. He went and got undressed and laid.

'Aren't descendants supposed to be evil? It's true that the descendant of the sand didn't bother anybody, so why did we kill it? It didn't even put up that much of a fight, and it was supposed to be stronger than the descendant in the ocean.'

He was laying down in a rack and sat up. Inian g.r.o.a.n.e.d as he ran his fingers through his hair.

Was fighting the descendants right?

His brows furrowed as he continued thinking. The first king told him that the descendants were evil and wanted destruction, but was that true?

Inian needed to find out, so he laid down on the bed and stayed down until he fell asleep.

His dream world slowly came into his vision. Next to him was the wolf king, and they were still in that setting with the large open area and mountain next to them.

"You told me all the descendants were evil, so why was the last descendant I fought harmless?" Inian asked.

The king responded, "I've told you that they were rebellious and that the Dragon tried to kill me. I came out on top."

The light in the wolf king's eyes changed, "I've also told you that you have great power and great responsibility, and part of that responsibility is to crush those who oppose your authority!"

Inian hopped back as the first king began pacing back and forth and growling.

Inian angrily yelled, "you told me that I need to be careful not to let the power of the king corrupt me! Why are you like this?"

"SHUT UP!!" The old king snarled, "the king will never be betrayed, and all those who oppose the king will suffer!"

The king howled in the air and meteors began falling from the blackened sky. They crashed into this dream world, obliterating it, and that's when Inian woke up.

"AAAHHH!!" Inian yelled in a cold sweat as he shot up. He looked next to him, and Janae was there.

Her eyes reflected her concern, "are you okay, Inian? I just came to wake you up."

Inian put a hand on his c.h.e.s.t and took a few deep breaths, "yeah, I'm fine. I think I'm still just a little shaken from the attack on the descendant. Haha."

He had a very suspicious laugh that Janae didn't buy, but she decided not to push it anyway.

"Okay, Inian, we're almost to the border of Irigia, so I wanted to wake you up to see if you would like to eat with Burt and me?"

Inian nodded his head, "sure; I'd like to eat with you guys."

He stood up before realizing that he was completely undressed. Inian blushed and quickly tried to cover himself up.

Janae laughed and smirked, "haha! No need to be so frantic, it's nothing I haven't seen before!"

She winked and left the room to let Inian get dressed in peace.

After a moment of fumbling with the clothes, Inian went and joined Burt and Janae in the other car, his face still bright red. Janae motioned for him to sit next to her while Burt was cheerily talking to one of the automatons they recovered.

He was fixing it up in the train car and was happily saying, "you should've seen me. I know you were destroyed and all, but I was pretty dang badass! I flew in and fired my flurry of attacks, and the monster's pillars of sand could never even touch me! I fought a fricken' descendant into the ground! Haha!!"

Janae cleared her throat and said, "are you ready for a meal Burt? Or are you too busy cleaning up your new girlfriend?"

"I'm ready to eat, and the new missus can wait!" Replied Burt and sat down next to them at a small round table.

There was food brought for them from the crew, and although it wasn't fine dining, it was still some delicious chicken and potatoes.

Burt belched as a declaration that he finished, "that was great! A fine ending to finishing off a descendant, and this time, Inian didn't even go berserk!"

Burt patted Inian on the back, and Inian tried to return Burt's enthusiasm, "yeah, I'm happy I didn't go berserk. But, I'm still worried about the remaining two descendants. Unlike the two we've taken out, these last two are behemoth level monsters. They are stronger than anything we've ever fought before!"

Janae grabbed Inian's hand, "don't worry, we'll figure it out! After all, we three have been on quite the adventures together!"

That made Inian smile, "yeah, you're right."

Burt clapped his hands together and said, "well, I'm going to go back to cleaning up the 'old girlfriend.'"

He stood up and began talking to the automaton once more while cleaning and fixing it.

"Do you want to go on top to the observation platform?" Janae asked Inian.

He nodded and followed her out to the top of the train cars. There was an observation platform that was slightly raised above the train.

Janae hugged Inian from behind and whispered, "you know that it's going to be okay Inian? We'll find a way to defeat the last of the descendants."

Inian struggled to find the words, "that's the thing, Janae. Thinking about it, I'm not sure if we should."
