Ruler Of Iron And Flesh

The advisors seemed confused by Inian's outburst, but Janae, Burt, and the Queen's eyes all lit up.

"That's the way? How do you reach it?" Janae asked.

Inian smiled, "The way I've figured it out the most is by finding an ability or some understanding of myself. I'm guessing it's a mix between the two of those to reach the behemoth level. I believe a part of it has to do with controlling an ability that can affect a great area, or pretty much the whole world."

The Queen's brow furrowed together, then she pointed her index finger towards Burt, "you are going with Inian, and you both have one month to figure this out. If you can't figure out how to bring Inian to the behemoth level and put a stop to the Trostan Kingdom's advances, then Irigia is going to have to step in and stop their annexation of Ranid. I can't let them become too powerful like how we sat back and watched for the Empire."

Burt nodded, "it'll be done. Let's go Inian."

Inian and Janae followed Burt outside of the Castle.

"Inian, do you really think you can do this in one month?" Janae asked.

He shrugged, "I don't have a choice in the matter. I either do it, or I don't. If I don't, however, two kingdoms go to war once again, and I really don't want that seeing as we just got out of one."

They walked towards Janae's house. Once they got close, Janae stepped in front of them, "well, I guess this is goodbye for now. This is a journey for just you Inian, and you too Burt, but only because the Queen ordered you to go."

She stepped up and gave Inian a passionate kiss, and Inian kissed her back.

"C' mon you two, we are apparently on a tight schedule here!" Burt butted in.

Janae shot Burt a frown but then smiled at Inian, "I love you, so be safe!"

"I love you too." Inian hugged her goodbye, and he and Burt began their march towards the behemoth level.

"Since we just got back, I'll go get us a vehicle and supplies for the trip. Since I have special access, it shouldn't take me long." Burt said, "I'll meet you just outside the city entrance."

Inian watched him go and walked towards the city entrance. He observed the tall iron and steel structures around him. He waved at vendors as he walked by, and saw the mechanics hard at work around him.

'Why do I feel like this is the last time I'll be here?'

Once he went just outside the city entrance, Burt drove around to meet him a moment later.

He drove this large vehicle with a dozen wheels and a broad back.

Burt opened the passenger side, "come on in Inian! We are no longer camping in the wilderness, but we are living! There's a whole fricken house in this vehicle!"

Inian smiled and climbed in. The inside of the vehicle had a kitchen, living space for both Burt and him, and even a spot for chess or to relax.

"Wow...this is quite nice."

Burt smiled, "I know, right?! Anyway, I figured we would go to your usual spot to grow, and go to the monster lands."

"Sounds like a plan."

Burt drove in the direction of the monster lands, curious as to how Inian was going to grow to the behemoth level.

After Janae waved Inian and Burt goodbye, she went into her home. She had a workshop set up in one corner of her house, and she had multiple spots where she was tinkering with small mechanical devices.

She sighed after seeing the mess, 'I guess I really don't clean up after myself.'

She decided to do a spot clean by picking up visible garbage and wiping down surfaces and floors. Once it was clean, she went and used the restroom.

'Isn't my period supposed to come by now?'

She shrugged and went to her work station. Earlier she was working on designing an exosuit that could draw out more power from a low-tier monster core.

She worked all day and late into the night, so she decided to go to bed. 'I hope you stay safe Inian' was her thought before drifting off to sleep.

Janae woke up the next morning heaving and puking. It was hard for her even to make it to the bathroom.

'Oh my...'
