Ruler Of Iron And Flesh

Chapter 89 - Standing Strong

"Open up, d.i.c.kwads! I don't have all day now!" Came shouting from the other side of the door.

Eli shook his head, trying to tell Alaric not to, but Alaric couldn't stand bullies and went to confront the voice.

He opened up the door, "what do you want?!"

It was the muscular boy with the dark hair standing outside the door, and he had a wicked smile on his face.

He pushed past Alaric and looked into the room. A couple of his cronies followed him in.

"So this is your dump that you live in, huh? Go straight from the outer districts into the backwater part of the academy, only suits you."

Alaric's brow furrowed together, "how did you know we are from the outer districts?"

The bully chuckled, "I can tell by your stupid mannerisms, plus, I personally know this fu**er over here." He motioned to Eli, who didn't raise his head to meet the bully.

Alaric became angry, "you have no right to be here! Now get out!"

The bully clicked his tongue, "that's not very nice! I'm just here to lay out some ground rules. I am always going to be on top in the officer's academy, and I just wanted to make that clear from the get-go."

His cronies circled behind Alaric, and Alaric began to feel nervous.

"You know that fighting is absolutely forbidden by the academy, except on fighting grounds."

The bully became angry, "then you better not tell anybody about this, or I will come to fu**in' murder you in your sleep!"

The bully materialized a knife in the bully's hand and he slashed Alaric's face. Alaric yelled and fell backward, bleeding from a wound that ran from the bottom of his cheek to his eye.

The bully stepped on Alaric's c.h.e.s.t to keep him down, "by the way, my name is Finn. Don't you ever forget who's in charge here!"

Finn left the room with his cronies in tow. Eli dropped to the floor next to Alaric, "I'm so sorry! He used to bully me because he is from the inner districts, and I'm from the outer districts."

Alaric felt the wound on his cheek, "I know you can beat him, Eli. You have the best ability from the bright coins out of any other student I think, you just need to be brave and face him head-on."

Eli began to tear up, "I c...can't. He's bullied me since I was eight years old, and he hasn't stopped. I just can't!" He wiped his face with his sleeve, "anyway, we need to get you to the infirmary in order to treat your wound."

Alaric nodded and walked with Eli towards the infirmary where a man wearing all white was sitting at a desk.

Alaric walked in, and the man looked up with annoyance, "it's only the second frickin' day. What happened?"

Alaric remembered Finn's words, 'I will fu**in' kill you in your sleep if you tell anyone.'

"I...uh...Fell and scratched my face on some metal."

The academy nurse sighed, "fine, if that's your da*n reasoning for the day, come here so I can stitch you up."

Alaric sat on a bed in the medical room, and the nurse stitched him up with precision and skill as if he'd done this a thousand times.

Alaric heard the nurse muttering to himself, "I keep telling the fu**in' academy to watch the kids, but noooo! They are all too busy to watch out for fu**in' bullies and the like."

He covered Alaric's stitches with a bandage, "now watch out for any more 'metal objects'. I do NOT want to see you in here again!"

"Yes, sir," Alaric said and walked outside of the medical room.

Eli spoke up after they left, "geez, that nurse is probably the scariest nurse I have ever seen in my life."

"Yeah..." Alaric said. He thought for a bit about the bully and spoke to Eli, "you know, we should stand strong and fight against him one of these days."

Eli's body stiffened up, "that's suicide Alaric. He has his cronies with him at all times, plus, how could we fight him?"

"Easy, I could fight him, hand to hand while you support me with your telekinesis ability!"

"It's not that easy, and you know it! Every student here has a bright coin, and his cronies each have one too. You would be stupid to try and fight three of them while I'm the only one who can use the bright coin!"

"But that's the thing! You have the best ability! We could still beat them!."

"Okay, Alaric..." Eli looked at the time, and his eyes widened, "Alaric! We need to be at the mechanic's class in just a couple minutes, and I don't have any materials with me!"

"Well, let's hurry up then!"

Alaric and Eli ran back to their room and grabbed their things.

'Finally!' Alaric thought, 'A class I' know I'll be great at!'
